This article refers to the ongoing discussion among researchers and persons discharging managerial functions in the institutions of higher education on the relationship between universities and external stakeholders. The author, based on study of literature, existing legislation and own researches (analysis of documents), tries to answer the question – whether the convent – collegial body in structures of universities in Poland – can fulfill the role of, so called, bridging organization between university and the regional socio-economic environment.

Celem artykułu jest analiza innowacyjności przedsiębiorstw rynku usług TSL w Polsce w latach 2012-2014 w zakresie: aktywności innowacyjnej, rodzajów innowacji, nakładów na działalność innowacyjną oraz przychodów ze sprzedaży produktów innowacyjnych. Dla jego realizacji przeprowadzono analizę literatury przedmiotu oraz badanie typu desk research, w którym wykorzystano dane Głównego Urzędu Statystycznego. W świetle zaprezentowanych wyników potwierdza się pogląd o niskiej innowacyjności przedsiębiorstw TSL. Innowacyjność na tym rynku wyraża się przede wszystkim w innowacjach „miękkich”: o charakterze procesowym i organizacyjnym. Zwiastunem pozytywnych tendencji na drodze ku zwiększaniu innowacyjności na tym rynku są rosnące nakłady na działalność innowacyjną.
The purpose of this paper is to analyze of innovativeness of enterprises on TSL market in Poland in the years 2012-2014 with regard to: innovation activity, types of innovation, investments on innovative activity and revenues from sale of innovative products. The defined objective was realized through the analysis of literature and desk research based on Central Statistical Office`s data. In the light of presented results it confirms the view of low innovativeness of enterprises on TSL market. Innovativeness on this market is expressed mainly in “soft” innovation: procedural and organizational. Growing expenditures on innovation activity might be as a herald of positive trends towards increasing innovation on this market.

The article regards the issue of innovative activity of enterprises in the Ukraine. The basis for presented consideration is mainly the overview of the literature and desk research analysis on the basis of the data of Ukrainian Statistics for 2014-2016. The article presents data regarding the innovative activity of entrepreneurs, type of innovation, diversity of activity depending on the size of the enterprise, type of business activity, location, as well as the funding of the innovative activity and cooperation in introducing innovative activities. The data analysis reveals similar dependencies in Ukraine as in other European countries: the scale of innovative activities significantly depends on the size of the enterprise, there is a big differentiation of innovation activity from business type and spatial diversifications.

Opis:
W pracy zaprezentowano aplikację do przeglądania danych medycznych, umożliwiającą współpracę ze szpitalnymi systemami informatycznymi PACS. Omówiono użyte narzędzia informatyczne, sposób konfiguracji serwera PACS oraz metody komunikacji i wymiany informacji w architekturze klient-serwer. Zaprezentowana międzyplatformowa aplikacja integruje rozbudowane metody dostępu do danych medycznych zapisanych w formacie DICOM, z zaawansowanymi możliwościami wizualizacji danych.
This paper describes the results of creating a DICOM 2D/3D viewer compatible with the PACS server. "Dicom Viewer" is application for primary medical image processing in DICOM format shown in Fig. 1. It is equipped with most common tools for manipulation of DICOM images. Additional options are: display of patient list from DICOMDIR, open and save medical images in DICOM format, measurements and annotations, displaying DICOM attributes of selected image, brightness/contrast control, convert DICOM images to the most common picture formats. The main advantage is the possibility of communication with PACS which provides economical storage of, and convenient access to, images from multiple modalities. It allows the viewer to communicate with any PACS functioning in a hospital and get access to images closely-held on a server. This application displays studies from many modalities with the wide range of 3D rendering methods. As shown in Figs. 3-4, the main methods used for this are: 3D MIP (Maximum Intensity Projection), 3D Volume Rendering, 3D Surface Rendering and MPR (multiplanar reconstruction), a term used in medical imaging to refer to the reconstruction of images in the coronal and sagittal planes in conjunction with the original axial dataset. The same as 3D, there is ability to read and display 2D DICOM files (mono-frame, multi-frames) from different kinds of storages: Server, USB, CD/DVD (DICOMDIR support). The developed computer system is equipped with an interactive user interface (Fig. 2) and tools allowing for manipulation of the displayed data.

Transport, spedycja i logistyka (TSL) są uważane za jeden z kluczowych rynków usługowych polskiej gospodarki. Celem artykułu jest zaprezentowanie poziomu i dynamiki zmian w zatrudnieniu oraz wynagrodzeniach na tym rynku w latach 2004-2014. Dla jego realizacji przeprowadzono analizę literatury przedmiotu oraz badania typu desk research. Uzyskane wyniki wskazują na dynamiczne zmiany w liczbie pracujących, co związane jest ze zmianami liczby przedsiębiorstw na tym rynku, a także procesami wewnętrznej konsolidacji. Analiza poziomu przeciętnych wynagrodzeń w przedsiębiorstwach TSL wskazuje, że w badanym okresie były one niższe w stosunku do przeciętnych płac w sektorze przedsiębiorstw, a różnica pomiędzy tymi poziomami zwiększała się.
Transport, Spedition and Logistics (TSL) are considered to be one of the main service markets of the Polish economy. The aim of the article is to present the level and dynamics of changes in employment and wages in this market from 2004 to 2014. The defined objective was realized through the analysis of literature and desk research. The results indicate dynamic changes in the number of employees, which is related to changes in the number of enterprises in this market, and the process of internal consolidation. The analysis of the level of average wages in TSL enterprises indicates that over the analysed period they were lower in comparison to the average wages in the corporate sector and the difference between those levels was increasing.

Osteochondrosis is a common and clinically important joint disorder that occurs in human and many species of animals such as pigs, horses and dogs. The aim of this article is to present the results of conservative and surgical treatment of Osteochondrosis dissecans (OCD) and to compare the recovery time in relation to race, age and extent of cartilage damage. The study was performed on 36 dogs of both sexes, aged from 4 to 24 months, weighing 12-70 kg, of different breeds (predisposed and non-specific for this disease). All patients underwent clinical, orthopedic and radiological examination through which the location of OCD changes in the shoulder joint and the degree of this problem were established. Based on the examinations the patients were qualified for particular treatment procedures. Control tests were performed after 14, 30 and 60 days, which allowed for a precise evaluation of the progress of therapy. Achieved results indicate that dogs age and the lesions extent in the shoulder joint have an impact on the outcome of treatment. Studies showed that the best therapeutic effects were obtained in dogs aged 6-10 months, which underwent surgery. The study proved that the early diagnosis of OCD strongly influence the recovery rate and may inhibit the development of degenerative changes in the joint (DJD).

The implementation of new methods of oseoporotic therapy requires tests on an animal model. One of the best is the sheep, whose numerous advantages over other models are described in the literature. The aim of this study was induction of osteoporosis using steroids and ovariorectomy methods in sheep and description of the change in parameters with regard to healthy sheep. The study was performed on female „merino” breed sheep divided into three groups: Negative control (NC) healthy animals, positive control (PC) ovariorectomised animals and steroid group (SC) where methylprednisolone was implemented. Blood tests, diagnostic arthroscopy, quantitative computed tomography and X-Ray micro-tomography of bone were carried out. Blood tests revealed a decreased level of estrogens, progesterone and increased parathormone and cortisol levels in the SC group. A decrease in bone turnover markers and an increase in bone resorption markers in all groups were also noted. Diagnostic arthroscopy revealed osteoarthrosis in PC and SC groups. Radiological density tests showed a slight decrease in PC and NC groups whereas there was more than a triple decrease in SC. Results obtained from microCT showed quickly developing osteoporosis in the SC group, which is reflected in numerous parameters analysed in this study. The best effects for osteoporosis induction were obtained using ovariorectomised sheep with methylprednisolone injections.

This paper presents histological and ultrastructural examination with mechanical comparative tests for force/strength values as well as indentation tests of joint cartilage. The obtained results confirm the loss of bone mass associated with mineral composition content in bones, which has an influence on bone strength.

It was found, that the set of minimum cuts, separating two chosen vertices in graph, have the structure of distributive lattice. It was developed an effective procedure for finding the set of 1, 2 and 3 elements cuts in graph based on the consideration of distributive lattice of the set of minimum cuts. The procedure consists of first, the algorithm for finding indecomposable minimal cuts of distributive lattice. Second, algorithm for synthesis, using resulting subset from stage one, of the entire set of minimum cuts. The third, is the algorithm for describing the set of quasi-minimum (close to the minimum, next to minimum) cuts in the form of sum of distributive lattices of minimal cuts found for the modified function of weight. The computer program, implementing these algorithms, is presented with examples.
Ustalono, że zbiór minimalnych przekrojów, rozdzielających dwa zadane wierzchołki grafu, z wprowadzonymi na i operacjami ma strukturę kraty dystrybutywnej. Opracowano skuteczną algorytmiczną procedurę znajdowania zbioru jed dwu i trzy elementowych przekrojów grafu bazującą na rozpatrzeniu dystrybutywnych krat zbioru minimalnych przekrojów grafu. Procedura składa się z, po pierwsze, algorytmu szukania nierozkładalnych minimalnych przekrojów Dystrybutywnej, po drugie, algorytmu syntezy po tym podzbiorze w kracie dystrybutywnej całego poszukiwanego zbioru minimalnych przekrojów i, po trzecie, algorytmu opisu zbioru quasi-minimalnych (bliskich do minimalnych, następnych po minimalnych) przekrojów w formie sumy krat dystrybutywnych minimalnych przekrojów, znalezionych dla zmodyfikowanej funkcji wagi. Przedstawiono zrealizowany program komputerowy i przedstawiono przykłady pracy programu.

Our paper has two major aims. First of all, we would like to emphasize the role of the National Census in developing social policy both as an academic discipline and as practice. Despite unquestionable value and usefulness of the data provided by the National Census we would also like to point out the traps and obstacles in reading and understanding some data. Secondly, we will analyze data obtained from the National Census 2002 regarding housing issues. Therefore, we will illustrate and compare the recent data with data taken from other studies in the past, trying to draw conclusions which will demonstrate housing problems in a time perspective in modern Poland.
Tekst ma dwa zasadnicze cele. Po pierwsze chcemy uwypuklić rolę spisów powszechnych dla polityki społecznej rozumianej zarówno jako działalność naukową, jak i w wymiarze praktycznych działań. Oprócz niewątpliwej wartości i społeczno-naukowej użyteczności danych spisowych na gruncie polityki społecznej, zwracamy także uwagę na niebezpieczeństwa w odczytywaniu niektórych danych spisowych, a przez to na ich niedoskonałości. Po drugie analizujemy dokonania narodowego spisu powszechnego z 2002 roku w kontekście wybranej przez nas doniosłej sfery polityki społecznej - kwestii mieszkaniowej. W tym zakresie konfrontujemy dane spisowe z 2002 roku z rysującymi się tendencjami szacowanymi na podstawie wcześniej realizowanych mniejszych badań, co pozwala nam określić aktualne problemy mieszkaniowe w Polsce.

The results of studies of mechanical and thermal properties of synthesized elastomeric nanocomposites have been presented. An elastomeric multiblock terpoly(ester-b-ether-b-amide)s as polymeric matrix and nanoparticles SiO2 i TiO2 used as fillers. It was shown that the introduction of multiblock thermoplastic elastomer matrix of SiO2 and TiO2 nanoparticles allows to obtain nanocomposite materials with improved mechanical properties compared to the terpolymer before modification. An increase in glass transition temperature, which has a positive effect for the processing of terpolymers.
Zbadano właściwości mechaniczne i termiczne syntezowanych nanokompozytów elastomerowych. Osnowę polimerową stanowił elastomer multiblokowy terpoli(estro-etero-amidowy), w roli napełniacza zaś zastosowano nanometryczny SiO2 i TiO2. Wykazano, że wprowadzenie do matrycy multiblokowego elastomeru termoplastycznego nanocząstek SiO2 i TiO2 pozwala na otrzymanie materiału nanokompozytowego o polepszonych właściwościach mechanicznych w porównaniu z wyjściowym terpolimerem. Stwierdzono wzrost temperatury zeszklenia, co ma korzystny wpływ na przetwórstwo terpolimerów.

Wyznaczono eksperymentalnie wartości zawieszenia cieczowego dla reaktora trójfazowego wypełnionego złożem pian stałych. Stwierdzono, że powszechnie stosowany czas ociekania złoża, w ociekowej metodzie wyznaczania zawieszenia cieczowego, dla wypełnienia w postaci pian stałych jest zbyt krótki. Opracowano równanie korelujące zmierzone wartości zawieszenia cieczowego w zależności od parametrów operacyjnych reaktora.
The liquid holdup was determined experimentally for a trickle bed reactor with the solid foam filling. It was found that the commonly applied drainage time is too short to determine the liquid holdup properly. The liquid holdup was correlated against reactor operational parameters.

Rn-222 activity concentration is on average several times higher in confined spaces than outside. Given that approx. 75% of the time we spend indoors, there is a need to draw attention to the activity concentration of Rn-222 in rooms in which we live. The paper presents the results of measurements of Rn-222 activity concentration in the period September-October 2014, in the buildings of the Opole University. The measurements were performed using a portable spectrometer AlphaGUARD. In the tested buildings Rn-222 activity concentrations differs in the ranged from 4 to 38 Bq/m3. These differences may be related to the local properties of the soil, the properties of the materials used in buildings construction and the method of building ventilation. The measurements of Rn-222 activity concentrations in the buildings of the Opole University showed no potential health risks resulting from radon.
Aktywność Rn-222 w pomieszczeniach zamkniętych jest średnio kilkakrotnie większa niż na zewnątrz. Ponieważ ok. 75% czasu spędzamy w pomieszczeniach zamkniętych, istnieje potrzeba zwrócenia uwagi na aktywność Rn-222 w pomieszczeniach, w których przebywamy. W pracy przedstawiono wyniki pomiarów aktywności Rn-222, w okresie wrzesień-październik 2014 r., w budynkach Uniwersytetu Opolskiego. Pomiary wykonano za pomocą przenośnego spektrometru AlphaGUARD. Zaobserwowano zróżnicowane aktywności Rn-222 w badanych budynkach, które mieściły się w przedziale od 4 do 38 Bq/m3. Różnice te mogą być związane z lokalnymi właściwościami gruntu, właściwościami wykorzystanych materiałów budowlanych, a także sposobem wentylacji. Pomiary aktywności Rn-222 w budynkach Uniwersytetu Opolskiego wykazały brak potencjalnego zagrożenia zdrowia, wynikającego z zanieczyszczenia radonem.
