    Opis:
    The article is to show tourist assets of the cross-border railway line Brest-Chełm, which is disrupted by a state border and the lack of a bridge on the Bug River barring access to Brest-Włodawa line section on the Belarus side and to Włodawa-Chełm section on the Polish side. The locally operating sections, built in the eighties of the twentieth century, of the strategic railway linking the Warsaw-Terespol line with the Vistula River Railroad (Nadwiślańska) have a great potential for the develop¬ment of railway tourism. The line runs along prized nature areas of the macro-regions West Polesie and Wołyńskie Polesie. Sundry landscapes of the border countryside and their biological diversity are decisive in enjoying the highly valued scenery along the line on the Polish side. The attractiveness of the Belarus side – in practice accessible to foreigners following the intro¬duction of the tourist and recreation zone ‘Brest’ in 2018 – is usually associated with the uncommon rules of travelling by train in the Belarus cross-border region. Both fragments of the line Brest-Chełm lead to and run through interesting tourist localities and cross-border culture sites. The article also touches on the present restrictions for railway tourism along this route, and the chances of reviving regular traffic in the Polish section in view of the governmental programme Kolej+.

    Jednym z uwarunkowań rozwoju przedsiębiorczości jest poziom wykształcenia ludności. W artykule zostały przeanalizowane zmiany, jakie zaszły w edukacji w Gdyni w latach 2000-2015 oraz ich wpływ na kształtowanie lokalnego rynku pracy. Szczególną uwagę zwrócono na kształcenie zawodowe. Uwzględniono oddziaływanie czynników demograficznych oraz reformy szkolnictwa wdrożonej w Polsce na początku XXI w. Zmiana modelu edukacji w kierunku kształcenia ogólnego, a następnie wyższego miała ograniczyć napływ absolwentów do grupy bezrobotnych, znamienny dla początku transformacji ustrojowej (lata 90.). Grupę tę tworzyli wówczas głównie absolwenci szkół zawodowych o kwalifikacjach niedopasowanych do zmieniającego się rynku pracy. Utrwalenie nowego modelu edukacji, pogłębione dodatkowo przez niekorzystne trendy demograficzne, zmniejszyło udział absolwentów z wykształceniem zawodowym wśród bezrobotnych w Gdyni w późniejszych latach, ale wpłynęło także na deficyt kadr, zwłaszcza z wykształceniem zasadniczym na lokalnym rynku pracy. Mimo zmian struktury kierunków kształcenia dostosowywanych do aktualnych potrzeb rynku pracy oraz podejmowania współpracy z przyszłymi pracodawcami (np. przez tworzenie klas patronackich) niekorzystne trendy pogłębiają się. Niedobór pracowników z wykształceniem zawodowym na rynku pracy potwierdzają statystyki struktury bezrobotnych w Gdyni, wśród których stanowią oni najmniejszą grupę, w przeciwieństwie do absolwentów szkół wyższych reprezentujących jedną trzecią osób pozostających bez pracy.
    The educational level in society is one of the many factors conditioning the development of entrepreneurship. The article analyses changes in the educational system of Gdynia in the years 2000-2015, with special attention given to vocational education. The study accounts for both demographic factors and educational reforms implemented in Poland at the beginning of the 21st century. The reformed educational model, focusing on general education, was to popularise higher education and limit the number of vocational school graduates becoming the unemployed, a characteristic feature at the beginning of the transformation period (the 1990s). This group of unemployed comprised mainly graduates of vocational schools with qualifications that did not match the demand of the evolving labour market. Solidification of the new educational model, strengthened additionally by demographic trends, diminished the share of vocationally trained individuals in the group of the unemployed in Gdynia in later years, however, it also resulted in a deficit of qualified labour force, especially of qualified workers. Though structural changes were introduced in the specialities required by current labour market needs and cooperation was undertaken with future employers (e.g. by opening classes supported by entrepreneurs), the unfavourable trend continued. Statistic data of the unemployed in Gdynia confirm a shortage of qualified labour force in the labour market. The share of qualified workers amounted to merely several percent of the unemployed, contrary to the remaining groups of unemployed, with graduates of higher schools of education representing one third of the total unemployment rate.

    Opis:
    The paper presents changes in the operation of the railway junction in Chojnice and neighbouring areas, and the impact thereof in the years 1989-2017. The analysis covers infrastructural changes, passenger traffic and organisational changes resulting from the transformation of the Polish State Railways (PKP) after 1989. The Chojnice railway junction, operating since the seventies of the nineteenth century is one of the biggest junctions in northern Poland. Regress of railway transport in the studied period noted throughout Poland resulted in closing down a number of railway lines in the vicinity and a reduction of operating connections and technical facilities. This led to limiting access to rail transport and to the peripheral role of the area in the region. Plans for upgrading the rail network provide an opportunity for improving the situation, particularly the electrification of the junction and the establishing of a terminal for collective transport at the neglected railway station described in the final part of the paper.
