Opis:
The main aim of this study was to develop a short questionnaire to assess work-related well-being from the organizational behaviour perspective. The short well-being questionnaire enables measuring longitudinal work-related well-being. Work-related well-being was assessed with a 147-item questionnaire covering both organizational and intrinsic factors of work-related well-being. The questionnaire consisted of 27 categories. The respondents were 114 women (65%) and 62 men (35%), mean age 39.2 years, in various occupations. From the extensive questionnaire a shorter questionnaire with 33 items was developed by principal component analysis. The Kaiser–Meyer–Olkin measure to test the sampling adequacy of 27 factor solutions varied from .62 to .91 and Cronbachʼs α was .74–.94. Most κ values of the shorter questionnaire were .50–.94 (p < .001). The reliability of the short version was comparable to that of the original questionnaire. The short one could also be suitable for Internet and mobile questionnaire applications.

Opis:
The article attempts to identify the factors of intrinsic motivation of employees as a determinant of work efficiency. Based on empirical research, non-financial motivators related to working conditions and relations in the enterprise were indicated, which results from the influence of this group of factors related to: appropriate shaping (enriching) work content, skilful rewarding, interest in performed tasks and satisfying the need for autonomy to emerge and increase internal motivation. The increase in employee efficiency is supported by all activities aimed at maximizing the value of human capital, which is done by using such personnel activities that are oriented to the entire area of human capital, including the area of intrinsic motivation.

Opis:
This research presents the current state of sustainable business development practices of small and medium-sized enterprises in the Guadalajara metropolitan Area (GMA), located in the State of Jalisco, Mexico. This work is based on the international project called: International survey on corporate social responsibility and sustainable development in SMEs, promoted by LABEX in Montpellier, France. More than 400 surveys from a common questionnaire were distributed to entrepreneurs from the municipalities located in the conurbation of GMA. The initial findings, based on descriptive statistical analysis, show that 50% of the SMEs don’t implement sustainability practices in Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico. Entrepreneurial orientation practices stand out in the economic sphere, in the external social sphere, the activities related to the community in which they are located, in the internal social sphere, the activities that involve their employees in decision making, and in the environment field with the use of alternative energies. In the end, the main causes of these practices’ absence and some tips to achieve them are presented in this paper.
Niniejszy opis badań przedstawia aktualny poziom zaawansowania praktyk związanych z procesem zrównoważonego rozwoju małych i średnich przedsiębiorstw w obszarze metropolitalnym Guadalajary (OMG) w stanie Jalisco w Meksyku.

Opis:
We analyse the factors used for assessing groundwater intrinsic vulnerability to pollution in the mean residence time estimation method, providing a final vulnerability evaluation. The following factors were analysed: depth to shallow groundwater, effective precipitation infiltration coefficient, terrain inclination, volumetric water content of soils and rocks in the unsaturated zone and volumetric water content of the topsoil. GIS surveys were performed for two geomorphologically diverse regions: a highland piedmont and a lowland plain in Poland (Central Europe). In both cases, groundwater had spatially diverse vulnerability to contamination. The research method used relied on determining the percentage participation of the area with particular values of the parameters analysed in areas of different degrees of vulnerability. Knowledge of the extent and distribution of variability of the parameters analysed in areas of particular degrees of vulnerability helps explain the causes of spatial variation in groundwater intrinsic vulnerability to contamination in given areas.

Opis:
Motivation represents a psychological process or condition within the individual that encourages, directs and continuously maintains a voluntary behavior and actions directed towards a specific goal. As a basic and lifelong need to acquire habits, knowledge, skills and abilities, and develop creative possibilities, it requires a certain level of investment of intellectual effort, concentration and perseverance. They determine the quality of learning and how much a person learns depends on the level and type of motivation, which is the key driver of this process. This paper will describe intrinsic and extrinsic motivation, which are mutually intertwined and pervasive, and in different ways encourage changes in behavior and activity by determining their direction, intensity and duration. Intrinsic motivation is based on individual perception and psychological processes and represents everything inside us encouraged to meet many internal needs, such as physiological, psychological and social, and achieve a sense of inner satisfaction. Extrinsic motivation represents all the incentives that are the result of external influences and stimuli that come from the social and often the business environment, and it is always associated with some form of awards and approvals. Motivation, as one of the affective factors, is of great importance in learning a foreign language, which significantly affects the willingness and readiness of students to accept new knowledge. In this paper, a survey was conducted on a sample of 120 full-time and part-time students of the first year at the Electrical Engineering Department at the Zagreb University of Applied Sciences, in the period from January to May 2018. The research aimed to show the impact of extrinsic and intrinsic motivation on English language learning. The study was conducted through a questionnaire, based on which the correlation analysis, the calculation of relative frequencies and the t-test determined the connection between the reasons for learning English and the need to know it.

Opis:
The aim of this study was to answer the question whether the fundamental analysis is useful in evaluation the profitability of investing in the capital market during the economic crisis. This method is bused on a multi-step analytical process to estimate the intrinsic value of the shares. A comparison of this value to the current market price of shares shows whether they are over or underestimated by the market. The paper presents the scope of work required on the each stage of fundamental analysis. However, the key role plays the final stage, the valuation of a corporate income, because the crisis has had a negative impact on reliable estimations of the intrinsic value of the shares.

Opis:
Purpose: The purpose of the research was to find out the correlation between the motivation and costs of internal or external locus of control and the propensity to mentor. Investment of time and per sonal energy was regarded as factors with an internal locus of control, whereas a lack of mentee’s achievement, problems caused by a mentee, unhealthy or unfriendly relation, and a risk to be replaced by a mentee were regarded as factors with an external locus of control. In the case of internal factors, their locus of control is the mentor him/herself while, in external factors, their locus is outside of the mentor and lies in a situation or an environment. Methodology: A quantitative cross-sectional study among Polish managers. Findings: First, the results show that uniquely intrinsic motivation relates to the propensity to men tor, while extrinsic motivation has no importance. Second, before deciding to mentor, managers estimate the costs of mentoring: the higher they are the lower the propensity to mentor. Third, the costs related to the internal locus of control – time and personal energy invested by a mentor in men toring – are most important when deciding to mentor. The risk of destroying a mentor’s reputation, problems caused by a mentee, unfriendly or unhealthy relationship and a risk to be replaced by a mentee emerged as of little importance. Fourth, previous experience as a mentor or mentee positi vely influences the propensity to mentor. Value: The study contributes to existing research, theory, and practice in the field of organizational behavior in the context of mentoring. The findings shed light on decision patterns in managers’ pro pensity to mentor and thoroughly explore the role of the anticipated cost of mentoring. null
