Opis:
W pracy przedstawiono analizę odporności korozyjnej nowych stopów tytanu otrzymanych metodą metalurgii proszków. Przedmiotem analizy były krzywe potencjodynamiczne wykonane na podstawie danych uzyskanych z urządzenia ATLAS 9933 ELEKTROCHEMICAL INTERFACE. Korzystając z programu POL-99 wyznaczono wartości potencjałów korozyjnych oraz prądów korozji spieków tytanowych. Porównano charakterystyki korozyjne nowych stopów tytanowych i li- tego stopu handlowego – Ti6Al4V. Stwierdzono przesunięcie potencjału korozyjnego badanych spieków w stronę wyższych potencjałów względem stopu handlowego.
This article presents analysis of corrosion resistance of the titanium alloys obtained by powder metallurgy method. The potenciodynamic curves made from data obtained from the ATLAS 9933 ELEKTROCHEMICAL INTERFACE device were analyzed. Corrosion potentials and corrosion currents of sintered titanium were evaluated by the POL-99. The characteristics of corrosion of new titanium alloys and solid commercial alloy-Ti6Al4V were compared. It was found that corrosion potentials of sintered materials are displaced into higher potential than commercial alloy.

The SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus pandemic has changed how almost every sphere of our lives functions. Its greatest impact can be seen in the functioning of the health care sector, whose task was not only to care for the sick or people suspected of infection, but also to take all measures to prevent the spread of infections. The imposition of a state of epidemic threat in Poland, and then the state of epidemic, provided a basis for imposing a number of restrictions that had a significant impact on the realisation of patients’ fundamental rights. The purpose of the considerations is to present and analyse the limitations of selected patient rights during the SARSCoV-2 pandemic. This article first presents issues related to patient rights in genere, emphasizing their importance for the proper functioning of the health care system in the country. Next, the limitations of selected patient rights, which unquestionably occurred in the era of COVID-19, are presented. It is shown that the rights indicated were not only limited, and sometimes even excluded. The article also presents an analysis of the annual reports of the Patients’ Rights Ombudsman, which in their content confirms the great increase in the number of violations of patient rights in the period of SARS-CoV-2 pandemic. Consequently, this resulted in a far-reaching negative impact on the perception of the health care system in our country.

The paper presents results of microscopic observations of selected porcelain bridges prepared on metallic base. The aim of microscopic observations was the identification of example wear types which have appeared during dental prosthetic bridges exploitation. The main attention was directed to wear forms that are quite often present in case of such prosthetic elements. The wear types comparative analysis was evaluated. The most frequent types of wear are: material's cracking, abrasive wear. Also, the metal corrosion and wear by dental plaque at prosthetic bridge surface were observed.

In this article, methodical aspects of studies on material fretting wear have been presented. The results of studies conducted on a “pin on disc” type device made at the Department of Materials and Biomedical Engineering of the Bialystok University of Technology confirmed the decisive influence of the amplitude of oscillations and the load value on the course and nature of the process. At a constant value of load, the course of resistance to motion was dependent on the amplitude. Increasing the amplitude of oscillations caused a change in friction conditions: from static friction (elastic deformation of formed adhesive connections, without dislocation of cooperating elements) to kinetic friction (breaking of adhesive bridges and displacement with sliding). The increase of the load value at a constant amplitude value caused a change in the course and nature of resistance to motion from sliding friction to friction at-rest.

To enable the public administration the effective realisation of public tasks in dynamically changing, contemporary reality it was necessary to replace the traditional methods of administrating by the New Public Management and New Governance instruments. At the beginning of this century the Polish Ministry of Finance (MF) has begun to implement these tools, including performance budgeting (PB) aiming at increasing of the efficiency and effectiveness of public spending. MF improves their methods and strategies, thus it is a learning organization as evidenced by the numerous documents prepared by MF. To identify the learning disabilities in PB implementation process in Poland, we use the non-reactive research method based on the analyses of the content and the evolution of documents issued by Ministry of Finances covering the period 2005-2014 and we analyse the publications evaluating PB implementation in Poland, including the reports of the Polish Court of Auditors, as well. The research problem is the answer to the question: in which way learning disabilities in the performance budget implementation process make the effective implementation of the performance budgeting in the Polish government sector more difficult from the perspective of the Senge’s theory of learning organization. The aim of the paper is to indicate the way to improve the performance budgeting implementation process. We conclude that even if the new concepts require the transformation of the public administration unit into more adaptive learning organizations, the appropriate learning methods and strategies were not sufficiently implemented in MF. Therefore, it was possible to achieved the main objective of PB only to a limited extent.

The Research Methodology course for postgraduate students is challenging, even for an experienced academic teacher. The primary objective of this course is to prepare participants to conduct scientific research and publish the results. This case study presents an original teaching method applied to Research Methodology with Emphasis on Engineering Science, for international engineering students at Blekinge Institute of Technology in Karlskrona, Sweden. The demanding requirements of the course, a varying number of enrolled students, and a large number of assignments which need to be tracked and guided by the teacher are all conditions that need a custom approach and modern tools. The opportunities offered by e-technologies help to fulfill these course requirements. This article shows how e-tools such Itslearning, Doodle, Zotero or scientific database search engines, can be implemented to support the teaching objectives. Using these tools, a single academic teacher can accomplish the eight-week course of Research Methodology, for up to 180 students working in 60 project groups without compromising teaching quality and students’ satisfaction. The course also has been appreciated by colleagues and mentioned in the Master program evaluation of the Swedish Higher Education Authority.
Nauczanie metodyki pracy badawczej studentów II stopnia i doktorantów stanowi duże wyzwanie nawet dla doświadczonych wykładowców akademickich. Podstawowym celem takiego kursu jest przygotowanie uczestników do prowadzenia projektów badawczych i publikacji ich wyników. W artykule, jako studium przypadku przedstawiono autorską metodę prowadzenia przedmiotu Metodyka Pracy Badawczej w Inżynierii, prowadzonego dla międzynarodowych studentów kierunków technicznych na Blekinge Institute of Technology w Karlskronie w Szwecji. Złożona struktura przedmiotu, zmieniająca się liczba studentów uczestniczących w kursie w kolejnych latach oraz duża liczba zadań wymagających monitorowania i korekty prowadzącego, potrzebowały zastosowania nieszablonowych rozwiązań i nowoczesnych narzędzi dydaktycznych. Wykorzystanie e-technologii pozwala na taką realizację kursu, która nie byłby możliwa przy użyciu tradycyjnych narzędzi. W artykule pokazano, jak e-narzędzia takie jak Itslearning, Doodle, Zotero czy biblioteczne narzędzia przeszukiwania naukowych baz danych, ułatwiają realizacje celów dydaktycznych przedstawionego przedmiotu. Dzięki tym narzędziom pojedynczy nauczyciel akademicki może w 8 tygodni zrealizować program Metodyki Pracy Badawczej w Inżynierii wykładanej nawet dla 180 studentów, pracujących w 60 grupach projektowych przy jednoczesnym zachowaniu wysokiej jakości nauczania i satysfakcji studentów. Przedmiot został również doceniony w ostatniej ocenie programowej studiów magisterskich realizowanej przez Szwedzki Urząd Kanclerza. Szkolnictwa Wyższego (Swedish Higher Education Authority).

A 59-year-old farmer was admitted to the Department of Trauma Surgery because of pain associated with the presence of a tumour on the side of the right thigh. The patient stated that his biggest problem was great difficulty in moving and handling agricultural machinery due to the aforementioned lesion. On physical examination, the patient presented with numerous cutaneous and subcutaneous neurofibromas, as well as one large plexiform neurofibroma. Diagnosis of Neurofibromatosis type 1 was established, based on National Institutes of Health diagnostic criteria. Moreover, molecular genetic testing found known pathogenic mutation p.Arg1769* in one of the alleles of NF1 gene (heterozygote), typical for Recklinghausen disease. The big plexiform neurofibroma in the patient was not operated on because of lung cancer.
