    Opis:
    Membership in the European Union has created for the Polish legislator the duty to adjust Polish law to European standards. As parenthood is an area of intensive legislative activity of the European legislator, it has also come within the ambit of the adjustment obligation. Relevant here are, first and foremost, Council Directive 92/85/EEC of 19 October 1992 on the introduction of measures to encourage improvements in the safety and health at work of pregnant workers and workers who have recently given birth or are breastfeeding and Council Directive 2010/18/EU of 8 March 2010 implementing the revised Framework Agreement on parental leave. Adjustment of Polish laws to the EU standard of rights related to parenthood has not been of a revolutionary magnitude and scale. Primarily, it relied on supplementing or specifying solutions that had already been the law. The most major changes affected family leave, considered the equivalent of parental leave regulated in Directive 2010/18. It is worth noting, however, that EU provisions in this respect have been amended several times, which has prompted the Polish legislator to review domestic law on an ongoing basis. In some fields, like the ban of night work of breastfeeding women compliance with EU standards still has not been obtained.

    At the time of postmodern deconstruction in thinking about aesthetic education, the concept of prof. Irena Wojnar on the integration of art with daily life is still valid. In the 1980s and 1990s, the legitimacy of prof. Wojnar’s theory were our studies of amateur artistic teams from youth vocational schools in Gorzów Wielkopolski, Lublin, Kraków, Andrychów, Koronowo, Kołobrzeg. Despite various profiles of the schools such as: mining, metallurgy, medicine, gastronomy, railway, amateur creativity was developed within the three following stages: (1) social meetings functioning instrumentally; (2) workshops enhancing the autonomy of art; (3) formation of a lifestyle that shapes the hierarchy of values. The integration of art with daily life is not limited to the past: Młodzi i teatr (‘Youth and the Theatre’) report prepared by the Malta Festival Foundation in Poznań (2013) shows its usefulness in the educational practice. Together with defining the typology of audience and the conditions for dissemination of the theatre, it emphasises the need for a broader cultural participation in the debate on art creation within the new social environment.

    This paper reports on the ongoing impact of Covid-19 pandemic in daily life in Argentina, highlighting the initial consequences of the quarantine established on March 20th in an attempt to control the outbreak. We focus on the perception of the role of political authorities, the media and the impact on habits in everyday life, which are being re-shaped in this new context. Online interviews were conducted in different cities of the North, Center and South of Argentina, including the capital, Buenos Aires. This is an exploratory analysis of an ongoing public health event whose consequences are presently far from clear, but its current contours have forced people to modify their daily routines, if not their lives. We highlight extreme reactions, ranging from “indifference” to “panic” or “selfishness” with “solidarity” emerging as the desirable and adequate response to the situation of “mandatory social isolation” or quarantine. Amid the uncertainty regarding the present and the future, novel contours emerge that account for the specificity of a South American country marked by recurrent economic and social crises throughout almost its entire history. Argentina was already struggling with financial difficulties, rising poverty and a fragile labour market characterized by high rates of unemployment and informality. This already delicate scenario was worsened by the sudden irruption of the first cases of Covid-19.

    Niniejszy artykuł porównuje relację praca/rodzina (wzbogacanie i konflikt), zadowolenie z pracy i z życia, a także subiektywne zdrowie wśród pielęgniarek pracujących tylko w porze dziennej oraz w szybko rotującym systemie zmianowym (1–3 dni na tej samej zmianie). W badaniu wzięło udział 178 pielęgniarek, mężatek, z co najmniej jednym dzieckiem. Wykazano różnice pomiędzy badanymi grupami w zakresie zmiennych związanych z pracą. U pielęgniarek dziennych wystąpił istotnie wyższy poziom wzbogacania praca/rodzina i zadowoleniaz pracy w porównaniu z pielęgniarkami pracującymi zmianowo. Pielęgniarki zmianowe zaś charakteryzował istotnie wyższy poziom konfliktu praca/rodzina oraz rodzina/praca, niż pielęgniarki pracujące tylko w dzień. Badane grupy nie różniły się istotnie w zakresie zmiennych niezwiązanych z pracą (wzbogacanie rodzina/praca, zadowolenie z życia i zdrowie).
    This paper compares work/family balance (enrichment and conflict), job and life satisfaction, and subjective health among day working nurses and shift working nurses in a fast rotating shift system (1 to 3 shifts of the same kind in a row). One hundred and seventy eight married nurses with at least one child participated in the study.There were differences between groups with regard to variables related to work. Day working nurses scored higher in work/family enrichment in comparison to shift working nurses. The results of work/family conflicts and family/work conflicts were significantly higher among shift working nurses than in nurses working only during the day. The groups did not differ with regard to variables not related to work (family/work enrichment, satisfaction with life and health).

    Celem artykułu jest przedstawienie znaczeń, jakie młodzi ludzie nadają pracy wraz z upływem czasu. Skupiamy się na narracjach młodych osób (w wieku 19–34 lata) z wyższym wykształceniem, będących na różnych etapach procesu wchodzenia w dorosłość. Odwołując się do badań dotyczących przechodzenia z edukacji do zatrudnienia, wykorzystujemy koncepcję elastycznego czasu społecznego [Adam 1998], by przedstawić, jak jednostki konstruują zmiany oraz punkty zwrotne w swoich biografiach. Wraz z upływem czasu zmienia się ocena poszczególnych wydarzeń i doświadczeń na rynku pracy. Opierając się na materiale z projektu „Przejścia młodych z edukacji na rodzimy i zagraniczny rynek pracy: rola lokalności, grupy rówieśniczej i nowych mediów”, omawiamy różne znaczenia nadawane pracy na trzech etapach życia od późnej adolescencji do wczesnej dorosłości. Przede wszystkim oddajemy głos badanym, którzy podzielili się swoimi refleksjami na temat: (1) pracy w trakcie szkoły średniej, (2) łączenia studiów z pracą, (3) wchodzenia na rynek pracy bezpośrednio po zdobyciu wykształcenia uniwersyteckiego oraz na późniejszych etapach trajektorii. Artykuł rzuca światło na kwestię stabilności na rynku pracy i jej konstruowaniu na kolejnych etapach życia.
    The article discusses the processes of meaning-making which are connected to the significance of work/employment as it intersects with the passage of time. We focus on the narratives of young people (aged 19–34) with a university education at different stages of entering adulthood. Drawing on research linked to education-to-work transitions, we rely on the notion of flexible social time [Adam 1998] to present how individuals subjectively construct breaks and turning points in their biographies. It is argued that the passage of time alters the experience and evaluation of events on the labour market. Based on empirical material from the project entitled Education-todomestic and- foreign labour market transitions of youth: The role of locality, peer group and new media, we discuss three stages tied to varied meanings of work, from late adolescence to adulthood. In particular, we give voice to the interviewees who shared their reflections about: (1) working during high-school, (2) combining university education with employment, and (3) transitioning from education to work, and later career trajectories until their early 30s. The article sheds light on the issue of labour market stability as distinctively constructed at subsequent life-stages.
