Opis:
W niniejszym artykule przedstawiono teoretyczno-empiryczne rozważania na temat kompetencji wychowawców do pracy w świetlicy szkolnej. Zaprezentowano wyniki badań będące z jednej strony próbą oceny kompetencji wychowawców i nauczycieli pracujących w świetlicy szkolnej, miejscu wspomagania rozwoju dziecka w wieku wczesnoszkolnym, z drugiej strony stwarzające okazję do włączenia się wychowawców świetlicy w dyskusję nad kompetencjami potrzebnymi wychowawcy do pracy w świetlicy szkolnej. Prowadzone metodami jakościowymi (wywiad, zogniskowany wywiad grupowy) badania umożliwiły ukazanie przedmiotu badań w dwóch perspektywach: diagnostycznej i postulatywnej. Zamieszczony w artykule wykaz kompetencji wychowawcy świetlicy, wynikający wprost z wymagań miejsca, jakim jest świetlica szkolna, uzasadnia przekonanie o konieczności profesjonalnego kształcenia i doskonalenia zawodowego kadry wychowawców świetlicy.
In this article, theoretical-empirical considerations on the competences of teachers working in after-school clubs are presented. The author presents the research results being, on the one hand, the attempt to evaluate the competences of teachers working in after-school clubs as the places that are to support the child’s development, and, on the other hand, the inspiration for the discussion of after-school club teachers on the competences needed to work in such places. The research was carried out using qualitative methods (interview, focused group interview) and it made it possible for the author to present the research subject in two perspectives: diagnostic and postulative one. The list of competences of an after-school club teacher included in the article directly results from the requirements of the place and it confirms the conviction that it is necessary to educate teachers working in after-school clubs and improve their qualifications.

Opis:
This paper reports on an action research study that took place during a one-week professional development course focused on establishing gender equality in primary schools, held in a Teachers’ College in Southern Tanzania (June/July 2015), in which 28 educators and administrators participated. I draw upon Sarah Ahmed’s (2005) theoretical framework of gender orientations to explore understanding of gender. A feminist, participatory, action research methodology using multimodal methods (Jewitt, 2008; Kress & van Leeuwen, 2001) was used to collect and analyze data. Highlighted are salient aspects activities and discussions in which the participants engaged concerned with constructions and orientations of gender, and gender-based oppression, violence, and discrimination and how these impact girls’ education. I also report on participants’ personal and professional knowledge, understanding, and insights into barriers to, and opportunities for gender equality and their proposed approaches for bringing about change through initiatives they articulated in the gender-responsive school action plans they began to develop. Findings indicate that despite the participants’ interest in learning more about gender constructions and orientations – conceptually as well as practically – and the implied expectation from policies than educators essential in bringing about transformative change leading to gender equality in society, the participants had had little, if any, exposure to policies, initiatives, resources, or professional development to guide and support them. Recommendations including provided professional development opportunities in gender-responsive pedagogy and programming at all schooling levels, and to include educators’ voices, as experts of their own contexts, in future policies, programming, and initiatives.

This article introduces the results of studies on aggression among early elementary school kids with the disorder of speech development (henceforth the abbreviation used is: DSD - disorder of speech development). According to the results of the summary of the scientific methods three types of aggression and six pro-types of aggression and also their symptoms have been found: a self-controlled type of aggression includes controlled and completed pro-types of aggression; a hidden type – protective and depressive; a behavior type – demonstrative and physical. There have been discoveries of sides of aggression and levels of aggression shown in kids with normal physical and psychological development and also in kids with phonetic underdeveloped speech (henceforth the abbreviation used is: PhUS – phonetic underdeveloped speech), phonetic-phonemic underdeveloped speech (henceforth the abbreviation used is: Ph-PhUS – phonetic-phonemic underdeveloped speech) and unsharply manifested general speech underdevelopment (henceforth the abbreviation used is: UGSU – unsharply manifested general speech underdevelopment). This paper also presents a comparison of specific signs of aggression in three subjects: “I am an individual”, “I am in a family”, “I am in the society”.

The state of the aggression problem in the junior schoolchildren with typical psychophysical development and disordered speech in the scientific psychological-pedagogical literature of our and foreign countries is analyzed in this paper. The topicality of this problem in remedial pedagogy and special psychology is found out. The evaluation criteria by types and subtypes of aggression are determined (the self-regulated type includes controlled and competitive subtypes; the latent type of aggression is divided into protective and depressive; the behavioral type includes demonstrative and physical subtypes of aggression). The peculiarities of manifestation (by types and subtypes) of the aggression state, modelling in minds of different types of behavior, the awareness of the internal and external mechanisms of aggression and manifestation of aggression in actions are considered. The aggression manifestation in the junior schoolchildren with typical psychophysical development and disordered speech are studied (henceforth we use the abbreviation: a disorder of speech development – DSD) in the different research fields, specifically, “I am an individual”, “I am in a family”, “I am in the society”. The comparison of the aggression levels among junior pupils with normal physical and psychological development and also in kids with phonetic underdeveloped speech (henceforth we use the abbreviation: phonetic underdeveloped speech – PhUS), phonetic-phonemic underdeveloped speech (henceforth we use the abbreviation: phonetic-phonemic underdeveloped speech – Ph-PhUS) and slovenly manifested general speech underdevelopment (henceforth we use the abbreviation: slovenly manifested general speech underdevelopment – UGSU) is considered.

Opis:
The present paper discusses the outcomes of research realised as part of the ‘Recognising and encouraging the development of aptitude for learning mathematics in older kindergartners and primary school pupils’ project. To start with, data concerning the occurrence of mathematical giftedness in older pupils is offered together with an explanation of the reasons for the previous lack of interest in the issue of inclinations for mathematical giftedness in children. Subsequently, I present a description of the mental traits of older kindergarteners which indicate their inclination for mathematical giftedness. I also go on to outline the research programme on the basis of which I managed to: (a) develop diagnostic methods for determining the inclination for mathematical giftedness in children, (b) estimate the number of children manifesting an inclination for mathematical giftedness and children endowed with an inclination for outstanding mathematical giftedness, (c) determine the reasons why groups of children manifesting their mathematical giftedness become significantly reduced after the first months of education. Finally, I discuss the critical periods crucial for developing inclinations for mathematical giftedness in children. I additionally provide an explanation of why it is impossible to fix the neglected cultivation of an inclination for an aptitude in mathematics in the subsequent years of school education.
