    The emergence of the modern concept of the sustainable city raises afresh the longstanding issue of the place and role of vegetation in urban and peri-urban areas in Europe. The awareness of biodiversity and the exploration of the services provided by ecosystems both lead to the development of ecological networks based on green spaces in and around the city. The establishment of these networks converges with the control of urban growth and urban sprawl, with the ‘green belts’. Drawing on the development of public policy governing the place of vegetation in Berlin, London and Paris, this article seeks to show the correspondences that have developed in the discussions of urban policy carried on in the major industrialized countries, and also the conflicting goals which these policies are meant to implement.

    This article deals with the problem of the forming an imperative of Sustainable Development. The content and ideological potential of the idea of Sustainable Development are analyzed. The necessity of introducing informational and educational policies in the course of implementation of the principles of Sustainable Development is substantiated. The main disadvantages and problems of the system of higher education in Ukraine are considered in light of the of the idea of Sustainable Development. It has been proven that the content of the concept "ecological" significantly expands the context of expediency in implementing the strategy of Sustainable Development.

    Niniejszy artykuł jest próbą udowodnienia tezy, że zieleń jest niezwykle ważnym i pełnoprawnym elementem budowania struktury przestrzeni zurbanizowanej. Z jednej strony pełni rolę społeczną, podnosząc atrakcyjność obszaru i działając dobroczynnie na mieszkańców, z drugiej zaś – wpływa na poprawę efektywności klimatycznej miasta. O ile świadome stosowanie zieleni jako instrumentu mitygacji zmian klimatu nie jest działaniem do końca zdiagnozowanym w aspekcie opinii społecznej, o tyle jej zdrowotny aspekt w architekturze i urbanistyce jest powszechnie akceptowany, aprobowany i odbierany pozytywnie. Wykorzystanie tego faktu pozwoliłoby na zbudowanie spójnego systemu zieleni miejskiej, która nie zajmując cennych obszarów inwestycyjnych, wpływałaby na poprawę dobrostanu mieszkańców, a jednocześnie pozytywnie oddziaływałaby na klimat w skali lokalnej. Ponadto znacząco przyczyniłaby się do stworzenia sieci korytarzy ekologicznych i przestrzeni stymulujących rozwój bioróżnorodności Opisane studia przypadków pozwolą zdaniem autorów na lepsze zrozumienie zależności pomiędzy architekturą i naturą we współczesnym mieście, ale również w szerszym kontekście – pomiędzy popytem na przestrzenie urbanistyczne zbudowane z materii ożywionej i akceptowalnością stosowania elementów zielonych jako instrumentów do (samo)regulacji klimatu miasta.
    This article is an attempt to approximate the thesis that greenery as an element of creating the city's structure is a full-fledged element of urbanized space. Its role is twofold; on the one hand, it plays a social role, increasing the attractiveness of the city and acting charitable for the residents, and on the other hand, it is an element of improving the city's climate efficiency in the context of the ongoing climate change. While the conscious use of greenery as an instrument of mitigation of climate change is not a fully diagnosed in the social aspect, the emphasis on the health aspect of greenery in architecture and urbanism is widely accepted and received positively. This would allow to build a cohesive urban greenery system and this should be focused on, i.e. using green as an instrument to improve the well-being of residents, use it as an instrument to improve the local climate. The effects of such activities would be the creation of a network of ecological corridors and spaces stimulating the development of biodiversity, and this would result in the creation of a set of instruments diminish the adverse climatic changes in cities mentioned at the beginning. The described case studies will allow us to understand the relationship between architecture and nature in the contemporary city, but also in a broader context – between the demand for urban spaces built of lively matter and the acceptability of using green elements as instruments for better (self)regulation of the city's climate.

    CyberParks will be hybrid spaces of future cities. Learning in CyberParks will take the form of technology-enhanced outdoor learning and will become an important concept that can be used in practice in order to provide an answer to numerous problems of educational institutions, related to students’ lack of contact with nature and consolidation of their sedentary lifestyle. In this paper we discuss evidences from the CyberParks COST project and we present recommendations regarding the constructions of CyberParks. We point out, for example, that when designing CyberParks one has to think not only about the technological infrastructure, but also about making sitting spots for using learning technology. We also present the original project of such an object.

    Poziom cen produktów ekologicznych jest postrzegany przez konsumentów jako wysoki. Wiele badań wskazuje, że cena stanowi największą barierę w zakupie produktów ekologicznych. Niski poziom wiedzy konsumentów pogłębia poziom sceptycyzmu wobec produktów ekologicznych i utrudnia proces akceptacji wyższych cen. Występuje silny związek między zachowaniami nabywczymi a poziomem zaufania. Gotowość do zapłaty (WTP) jest istotnym predyktorem decyzji o zakupie produktu ekologicznego. Konsumenci będą skłonni zapłacić wyższą cenę, jeśli firmy uzasadnią premię za pośrednictwem korzyści.
    The price level of green products is seen as high. Many studies indicate that price is the biggest barrier to buying green products. The low level of consumer knowledge deepens scepticism towards eco-friendly products and the process of accepting higher prices is difficult. There is a strong relation between buying behaviour and trust. Willingness to pay (WTP) is a significant predictor of the decision to buy an organic product. Consumers will be willing to pay a higher price if companies justify the benefit of premium.
    Уровень цен экологических продуктов потребители считают высоким. Многие исследования указывают, что цена представляет собой самый большой барьер в покупке экологических продуктов. Низний уровень знаний потребителей усугубляет их скептическое отношение к экологическим продуктам и затрудняет процесс одобрения более высоких цен. Выступает сильная связь между покупательским поведением и уровнем доверия. Готовность уплатить более высокую цену (WTP) – существенный предиктор решения о покупке экологического продукта. Потребители будут склонны уплатить более высокую цену, если фирмы сумеют обосновать премию выгодой.
