Opis:: In the information society conditions and social needs are constantly changing. The development of information technology together with the new methods of gathering and distributing information that have been generated open the way to alternative forms of education in knowledge society. Intensive development of distance education is a response to changes caused by the escalating pace of innovation in many areas of social and economic life. Computers and the Internet are replacing the previous model of traditional education. The development of technology has contributed to the search of mobile forms of learning, or e-learning. E-learning allows you to fill gaps in the traditional teaching. Modern techniques allow you to find previously unknown solutions that can be used to streamline the process of distance learning. Both traditional education and the world of business treat e-learning as an effective tool that supports science. The convenient application of this tool, the opportunity to individually decide about the time devoted to studying, low costs and easy access speak for applying e-learning as an educational method. This article attempts to present the role of the Internet in the educational process. The aim of the paper was to show the influence of e-learning on raising the efficiency of education.

Opis:: This article examines distance learning in individual European countries and the Czech Republic. It analyses and compares the development of distance learning, and the supply of study options in the form of distance learning in European countries; it covers the development, conditions, and history of distance learning in European countries. The carried out analysis shows that currently there is an emphasis on lifelong learning, and the development of distance learning has become a priority. It can be further stated there are significant differences in the development of distance learning in individual European countries, and in the Czech Republic distance learning has only started to develop in the past twenty years.

Opis:: The effectiveness of American corporate education in the knowledge economy is ensured by the diversification, variability and flexibility of forms, methods and learning technologies, the choice of which largely depends on the purpose, objectives and content of learning, individual characteristics of the learners, material base and financial support of the learning process. Our analysis shows that these methods and technologies are highly interactive, innovative and practice focused, which ensures a high quality of training and its compliance with the needs of today’s global market. Both traditional and electronic learning methods are widely used, though a tendency has been observed over the last ten years to the decrease in the percentage ratio of traditional classroom training hours and the increase in the percentage ratio of technology-based learning hours. The use of technology-based learning methods is rapidly promoted in view of the increasing mobility of employees whose learning needs cannot be met in the traditional classroom only and this process is accelerating in the context of further globalization of the economy. Internet and intranet technologies in American companies create conditions for distance learning of employees. Flexibility and accessibility of e-learning technologies also provide for extensive use of new methods of non-formal learning: mobile learning, social networks, e-coaching, corporate blogs, corporate online libraries (wikis) etc.

Opis:: The paper outlines the development of a higher education model meeting the needs of the generation growing up in liquid modernity. The initial hypothesis is that today’s trends in education, very often not having any coherent and reliable theoretical basis, are a proof of the difficulties that have to be faced today by every ambitious educator. A detailed analysis of the seven trends allowed for the identification of dominating problems of modern education, determination of the threats arising out of apparently attractive didactic solutions and discovery of their creative transformation into fully-developed methodological concepts. During the construction of the strategy for educating adults, the author refers to psychological research and develops the foundations of a coherent model of educating adults which uses blended learning. The solution is named CREDO, which is an acronym of: Credence, Requirements, Engagement, Design, Open.
