Opis:
The aim of this paper is to juxtapose the image of mentally ill persons in the world cinematography with the perceptions of this social category in the Polish society. Analysis made by the author was based on the selection of well known movies to compare with some results that are available in the reports published by CBOS (a Polish Public Opinion Research Centre). In both sources the social isolation of mentally ill people is a key trait of their image, moreover, the way mental illness is shown in movies is relatively stereotypical and departs from scientific knowledge, whereas people interviewed in the surveys regarding their contacts with and attitudes toward the mentally ill individuals reveal their apprehension and willingness to keep a distance.

Researchers alert – children spend less and less time being in nature, which has a detrimental effect on their physical and mental health. As the response to these appeals, such foundations as ‘Dzieci w Naturę’ or ‘Pracownia Edukacji Żywej,’ as well as private initiatives like ‘Wielki Zachwyt’ or ‘Szkoła Bosych Stóp’ appeared. They organize workshops, family walks and trips to the forest giving children an opportunity to play in nature. Natural playgrounds can be an addition to those activities, which in a way ‘bring’ nature into the cities, residential areas, schools, and kindergartens. In this article, the author presents various examples of good practices that allow children to play in nature.

Opis:
Social Phobia is one of the most common disorders affecting 13% of the world’s population. Virtual Reality is a well-known and relatively often used tool of assessment and treatment of phobia in Western countries (especially in the UK, France and the USA), but less so in Poland. Hence, the main objective of the paper is to present the Virtual Reality Therapy as an efficient kind of treatment, which has many advantages. The author points out a wide array of possibilities connected with application of VR. Klinger’s and her colleagues’ Virtual Reality Theraphy serves as the example to explain this method.

Opis:
Nowadays autism spectrum disorders constitute one of the most serious health problems, as concluded by the United Nations. According to the data obtained from them, in the last two decades, a tenfold increase has been observed in the incidence of autism around the world. Consequently, it is not surprising that more and more use is made of alternative and complementary therapies in case of people with ASD. Dance and movement therapy has been described for over fifty years in Western countries, where it has been used to support conventional treatment of people with autism. Allowing them to understand, reflect on and expand their non-verbal expression, this particular form of therapy can be beneficial, by supporting socialization and communication, building awareness of the body and aiding motor deficits

The Act of 20 February 2015 amending the Penal Code and certain other acts introduced a completely new model of protective measures (środki zabezpieczające). The article contains a critical analysis of the principles that lay at the foundation of the legislator’s move to create the current solutions, namely wide application of non-custodial protective measures, execution of those measures only after the execution of the imprisonment sentence and application of protective measures to convicts sentenced to non-custodial punishment. The author also analyses the consequences of applying these principles in particular provisions and the controversy concerning the compliance of the new normative solutions with the Constitution. The author also points to the doubts whether the advantages of extending the application of protective measures will balance the weakening of the guaranteeing function of criminal law.

This article introduces the results of studies on aggression among early elementary school kids with the disorder of speech development (henceforth the abbreviation used is: DSD - disorder of speech development). According to the results of the summary of the scientific methods three types of aggression and six pro-types of aggression and also their symptoms have been found: a self-controlled type of aggression includes controlled and completed pro-types of aggression; a hidden type – protective and depressive; a behavior type – demonstrative and physical. There have been discoveries of sides of aggression and levels of aggression shown in kids with normal physical and psychological development and also in kids with phonetic underdeveloped speech (henceforth the abbreviation used is: PhUS – phonetic underdeveloped speech), phonetic-phonemic underdeveloped speech (henceforth the abbreviation used is: Ph-PhUS – phonetic-phonemic underdeveloped speech) and unsharply manifested general speech underdevelopment (henceforth the abbreviation used is: UGSU – unsharply manifested general speech underdevelopment). This paper also presents a comparison of specific signs of aggression in three subjects: “I am an individual”, “I am in a family”, “I am in the society”.

The state of the aggression problem in the junior schoolchildren with typical psychophysical development and disordered speech in the scientific psychological-pedagogical literature of our and foreign countries is analyzed in this paper. The topicality of this problem in remedial pedagogy and special psychology is found out. The evaluation criteria by types and subtypes of aggression are determined (the self-regulated type includes controlled and competitive subtypes; the latent type of aggression is divided into protective and depressive; the behavioral type includes demonstrative and physical subtypes of aggression). The peculiarities of manifestation (by types and subtypes) of the aggression state, modelling in minds of different types of behavior, the awareness of the internal and external mechanisms of aggression and manifestation of aggression in actions are considered. The aggression manifestation in the junior schoolchildren with typical psychophysical development and disordered speech are studied (henceforth we use the abbreviation: a disorder of speech development – DSD) in the different research fields, specifically, “I am an individual”, “I am in a family”, “I am in the society”. The comparison of the aggression levels among junior pupils with normal physical and psychological development and also in kids with phonetic underdeveloped speech (henceforth we use the abbreviation: phonetic underdeveloped speech – PhUS), phonetic-phonemic underdeveloped speech (henceforth we use the abbreviation: phonetic-phonemic underdeveloped speech – Ph-PhUS) and slovenly manifested general speech underdevelopment (henceforth we use the abbreviation: slovenly manifested general speech underdevelopment – UGSU) is considered.

The aim of the article is presenting two ways of the state’s response to the danger caused by individuals with mental disorders pursuant to the Act on Mental Health Protection and the Act on the Procedures Applicable to People with Mental Disorders Posing Threat to Other People’s Life, Health or Sexual Freedom. There is a need to provide safety to society which justifies applying measures which often interfere with human freedom. The connection between mental sanity and the criminal justice system is complex, and it can be treated as a scene upon which the society projects different attitudes, emotions and feelings about responsibility, free will, autonomy, public safety and the meaning and purpose of punishment. Not every kind of mental disorder creates a danger for others – yet, the fact that there is a high probability of committing a crime imposes the necessity of an adequate state reaction.
