Opis:
The paper discusses some aspects of possibilities and dangers that new digital technologies bring in the camp of transmission of texts, especially the literary ones, and their scholar edition. While the new trends and achieve- ments are still under discussion, a glance towards the similar situation of some 500 years ago, when printing press was introduced to replace, step by step, a manuscript communication, could be useful to understand what we experience and to foresee some ways these new technologies will probably undertake.

Opis:
This study aims to present changes that are taking place in the market of logistics services as a result of the development of digital technologies and show their influence on the business models of logistics service providers. In her research, the author applied Porter’s 5 forces model as a theoretical framework for the analysis in the area of innovation and technology in logistics. The study uses the deduction method. This is a conceptual paper based on the analysis of secondary materials, i.e., examples of innovative logistics solutions, reports of research agencies and consulting companies, and literature studies. The results of the analysis show that we are dealing with the digital transformation of the logistics service industry (not digital destruction). Technologies like sensors, robots, automation, cloud computing, data analysis, 3D printing, autonomous vehicles, artificial intelligence, digital twins or blockchain technology supplement but not replace the real world of logistics by providing customers with higher logistics service value.

Opis:
To a large extent, the world has come to embrace digitalization which currently permeates all human endeavors and life. However, the process of digitalizing human beings themselves, making them Transhuman and allowing the integration of the digital into every aspect of our daily life has made life both paradoxically appreciative and problematic as it increases the global nature of humanity and its endeavors, posing threats as well as benefits. Merging Transhumanism (H+) with the Digital Humanities (DH) may minimize those threats but the dual evolving human-technological thoughts have been hoofing at a distance to each other for decades whereas innately they share the same perceptions on the future of the digitalization and human beings. This paper is channeled towards breaking the barriers between the two through the help of the critical comparative lens from the conceptual theoretical framework called Digital Knowledge Integration (DKI) using hypothetic-deductive method of reading two e-literatures: Digital_Humanities by Anne Burdick, Johanna Drucker, Peter Lunenfeld, Todd Presner & Jeffrey Schnapp published in 2012 and The Transhumanist Reader: Classical and Contemporary Essays on the Science. Technology, and Philosophy of Human Future edited by Max More and Natasha Vita-More in 2013 including other literatures as we need them. This research is also aimed at integrating knowledge into singular model and raising scholarly debates on the new development.

Opis:
In the present era of globalisation and the omnipresence of the Internet, Sorbian linguistics faces new challenges along the lines “What is not in the Internet, does not exist”. The demand for digital sources of information with regard to Upper and Lower Sorbian and those accessible online as working tools and reference points for language practice and as a source for academic research increases. As a result of this ongoing development, the Foundation for the Sorbian People established a workgroup called “Sorbian in the new media” at the end of 2012, which has pointed out the creation of an online GermanUpper Sorbian dictionary as the major task in this field of activities. The focus of this article, however, is the Upper-Sorbian text corpus HoTKo, which has been created by the Sorbian Institute and which has been made available in co-operation with the Institute of the Czech National Corpus at the Charles University in Prague. The article presents the history and development of the corpus, its extent and shape as well as its link to or incorporation into further planned digital projects of the Sorbian Institute with regard to the Upper Sorbian language.
