    The purpose of this article is to analyse the attitude of the Visegrad Group countries towards the immigration crisis in the EU. The article shows the joint activities of the V4 countries and their decisions taken at national level. The main thesis posed in this article states that the negative attitudes towards compulsory relocation of immigrants have activated the Visegrad Group countries and have integrated them with common aims. The article shows a split in among the member states of the EU and thus a lack of solidarity in solving the immigration’s problem. Celem artykułu jest analiza stosunku państw Grupy Wyszehradzkiej do kryzysu imigracyjnego w UE. Zaprezentowano w nim wspólne działania państw V4, jak i decyzje podejmowane na poziomie narodowym. W artykule postawiono tezę, że negatywny stosunek do obowiązkowej relokacji imigrantów uaktywnił państwa należące do Grupy Wyszehradzkiej i zbliżył je do siebie. Pokazano rozłam w UE i tym samym brak solidarności państw członkowskich w rozwiązywaniu problemu imigracji.

    When joining the European integration project, countries declare that they accept the underlying common values and principles, including the principle of solidarity. The migration/refugee crisis has verifi ed the attachment to these principles. As it had happened on many occasions throughout history, in times of crisis national tendencies and interests gain the upper hand and in some countries sensible public debate is replaced by calls for a fight for a European Europe. Poland is one of thesecountries.

    Opis:
    The focus of the article is on inward Foreign Direct Investment in Visegrad Group countries from the point of view of the importance of the service sector. Governments in the Visegrad Group countries pay a lot of attention to Foreign Direct Investment. On the one hand, they compete with one another, but on the other, they complement one another as a single region with similar characteristics. The Visegrad Group countries also have similar characteristics regarding the growing importance of the service sector, for example in the case of employment. The aim of this article is to analyse inward Foreign Direct Investment in Visegrad Group countries from the perspective of their classification according to economic activities and with a special focus on the importance of the service sector.
    W niniejszym artykule przedstawiono kwestię bezpośrednich inwestycji zagranicznych w krajach Grupy Wyszehradzkiej z punktu widzenia ich znaczenia dla sektora usług. Rządy państw Grupy Wyszehradzkiej przywiązują dużą wagę do bezpośrednich inwestycji zagranicznych. Z jednej strony rywalizują one ze sobą, jednakże z drugiej uzupełniają się wzajemnie, tworząc jeden region o podobnej charakterystyce. W państwach Grupy Wyszehradzkiej rośnie znaczenie sektora usług, na przykład w odniesieniu do zatrudnienia. Celem niniejszego artykułu jest analiza bezpośrednich inwestycji zagranicznych w krajach Grupy Wyszehradzkiej z uwzględnieniem ich klasyfikacji z uwagi na działalność gospodarczą, ze szczególnym naciskiem na znaczenie sektora usług.

    The increasing dominance of neoliberalism as the key steering mechanism of the European Union (EU) since the early 1990s has implied the competitiveness-oriented reshaping of cohesion policy. The aim of this paper is to initiate a debate from a critical political economic perspective on the implications of this shift for Central Eastern European (CEE) member states. To this end, the paper discusses the formation of EU centre-periphery relations from a CEE point of view and formulates some preliminary suggestions as to how cohesion policy would need to be rethought in order to ensure the better integration of lagging CEE regions.

    At least since 2014 the European Union (EU) has been facing the migrant and refugee crises, which have become an important test of solidarity of the Member States (MS). The effectiveness of the common migration and asylum policy has proven to be limited. The crises became a destabilizing factor leading to disagreements and divisions between MS. The position of the Visegrad Group (V4) states stood out in the debate on migration and refugee challenges. The objective of this article is to examine to what extent the migrant and refugee crises 2014+ in Europe, the limited effectiveness of the EU migration and asylum policy and the differences between the MS in their approaches influenced the situation, in which the Visegrad states attempted to find a common voice, strengthen their position in the EU and formulate the basis for the future common policyon migration and asylum. The article presents the migration and asylum situation in the Visegrad Group countries in recent years, then it discusses the V4 response to the migrant and refugee crisis and the EU solutions with a special focus on relocation and resettlement schemes and finally it provides the content analysis of the V4 official documents.
