This article contains considerations on counselling in the context of how it is situated within ethical and deontological standards. The theoretical concept is an attempt to show the combination of ethics and deontology in the counselling proceedings. For this purpose the authors refer to the specific code of conduct intended for supportive proceedings determined by axiological ethics, normative ethics and deontological issues in their broadest sense, which concerns the liability towards the supported individual. To make the discussion implementable the authors also refer to the practice of counselling intervention as something integrated with ethical proceedings. Therefore, the considerations included herein show that no sort of activity within the area of help and social support can be independent of axiology. This is because each counsellor who establishes a specific relationship with the supported person enters the ethical space being more or less aware of this fact.

Background: The Bicol University identifies if gender equity is an issue among its graduates. Purpose and Research Objectives: The study sought to identify if there is a relationship between the Bicol University graduates’ gender and their scholastic circumstances and employment/ employment-relevant setting. Sample and Research Design: The study used the 622 questionnaires retrieved in the original research and employed secondary analysis as its research strategy Results: This study found out that gender among the graduates of Bicol University seems to have a bearing on the course they took in college, their present employment and their present occupation. On the other hand, sex appears not to have an influence on the honors they received in college, the reason for taking the college course, their present professional skills, their place of work, the relation of the college course to their first job, the length of time in finding job and the job level. Scholastic performance in college seems not be influenced by sex. The latter also does not have any bearing on the reasons why these graduates took the courses they had in college. Recommendation: Managers in colleges and universities, and the industries may find in these findings some basis for making decisions vis-a-vis male and female Bicol University graduates.

Opis:
Models of the relationship between employees and employers presented during the undergraduate and graduate studies of economics usually reflect the formal neoclassical approach. Moreover, in everyday life as well as in the public debate those relations are often presented as conflicts in which only one party may win. Such an oversimplified approach to the labor market relationships does not correspond with reality and may affect people's decisions, treating the second party as an enemy. The article presents the multistage educational experiment (18 rounds), in which students play the roles of employers and employees. Their outcomes depend on the declared involvement, their remuneration, and the level of social trust. Results of the experiment reveal that all these factors depend heavily on students' openness to communicate with other players as well as the employer-employee matching. Participation in the experiment allows students to experience that even conflict-provoking labor market relationships do not have to go along with strong disputes and radical opportunism. Learning how to cooperate in the labor market could not only be economically profitable, but it can also help to build social capital, which is even more crucial.

The reflection on the idea of empowerment has been strongly emphasized in numerous theoretical studies in recent years. There are numerous values of this concept, however difficulties arise with the moment of transition it from the theoretical to the practical perspective. There are many situations where the subjective approach penetrates with the no subjective one. The purpose of this article is to explore the (non)subjective support relationship in social work (among clients, families and social workers) as a not obvious, barrier-restricted and not always able to use in practice. The analysis of the issue was conducted in the context of different conditions, e.g. functioning of social welfare clients, the work of professionals and the social welfare system, and the impact of these factors on the way how the helping relationship was created. The answer to the question if the helping relationship in social work can become subjective is not easy at the moment. As the authors emphasized in the final conclusions, the subjectivity in the helping process has the opportunity to appear in the strengths-based social work practice, especially in empowerment approach, Solution Focused Approach, Family Conference Group, Video Interaction Training or Motivational Interviewing. The article also presents the possibilities and dilemmas of applying these approaches in the practice of social work.

Originally, working time regulations were intended to increase the level of safety in the process of work. As a result, working time regulations were relatively stable and rigid. The traditional organization of working time turned out to be inadequate for circumstances in which work is performed. Over recent decades working time regulations have been profoundly flexiblized. This result has been achieved thanks to various legal instruments such as the extension of daily working time, longer reference periods for weekly working hours or more flexible schedules of working time (e.g. banks or accounts of working hours). However, the flexibilization of working time must confront with numerous limitations. First of all, they arise from fundamental rights and international standards as well as from the standards determined by the European Union. Important criteria of assessment are also European strategies such as work-life balance or life long learning. Finally the question of the paradigm of the employment relationship must be answered. The actual position of the parties thereto does not justify the significant change in the division of risk connected with employment.

The relationship between the teacher and the student seems to be an integral part of our historical and cultural reality in which contents value are regarded as transmitted from generation to generation. This relationship is a primary type of cell in the transfer of the culture and the best illustration is taken by our academic teaching activity. The aim of the lecture is an attempt to apprehend the essence of the master-student relationship. I present this issue on the basis of selected examples of academic philosophers with reference to four different types of reference scale of the master-student relationship. The community first stage is characterized by the fact that all the members of the founding declare the same philosophical views. The second stage is characterized by the community in which the founder only partially controls the activities of the group and philosophical influences proclaimed by the views of its members. The third level of the community is deprived of the personal control and includes conscious successors and followers of specific aspects of the philosophical activity and the authority of the master. The fourth stage is found in the beliefs of people who unknowingly reproduce existing philosophical beliefs, without the intention to establish the views of their predecessors.

This article presents an outline of a personalistic model of education based on assumptions of a philosophy of meeting. The model is set against two classic models:pragmatic as well as voluntarist, pointing out their limitations, such as a deficiency of an axiological, that is – ethical aspect. It is emphasized that in an educational process partake two subjects, each of whom, thanks to personal relationship of meeting has a chance to open up to another and to derive an inspiration for development. As the most important aim of education, sensitization to moral values and teaching these principles accordingly were indicated – for personal and community welfare. Consequently, three levels of educational process were distinguished, namely: pre-educational level (pre-education), educational level (education) and post-educational level (self-education).

Opis:
The article proposes a theoretical model of the phenomenon of “upbringing” embedded in the social constructionism paradigm. On a conceptual level, it refers to the living world shared by adults and children; it comprises both the content of the culture in which this world is situated, and the reality of the microsystem (families, dyads) created through participation and dialogue. In such formative dialogues, the inexperienced partner, i.e. the child, is introduced to the system of meanings used by the adult. This relationship is not symmetrical; it is a complementary one characterised by the constant, emotional relationship between the child and the person acting as agent, usually a parent. This complementarity is expressed through a diversity of roles characterised by a distribution of responsibilities, which sets various duties and rights for the two partners. Control is enacted by a mechanism based around the self-fulfilling expectations that the adult has towards the child. The most important advantage of the proposed approach, analysing upbringing from a social constructionist viewpoint, is that it examines the relationship between the two participants from a supra-individual perspective.

The article shows the results of studying of role of students’ humor styles during coping the stress . It was shown the positive and negative humor styles regarding the interpersonal relationship. It was revealed some differences in use of humor styles during coping the stress among students of Ukrainian and Russian samples; among girls and younkers. The statistically significant correlations between students’ use of humor style and indexes of stress coping were calculated, which show that coping the stress students use negative for the relationship humor styles (aggressive humor and self-defeating humor). At the same time, the potential possibilities of affiliative humor to improve the relationship are used not enough during coping the stress both by the younkers and girls. Pamięci W. B.Yeatsa W.H.Audena i Elegia przed wojną Alicii Ostriker to dwie elegie „przedwojenne”, w których pierwiastek osobisty zestawiony jest z pierwiastkiem politycznym. Wiersz Audena ilustruje śmierć znanej osobistości na tle niespokojnych lat 30. XX wieku, kiedy powszechny był strach przed faszyzmem i jego reperkusjami. W długim, 7-fragmentowym dziele Ostriker ramą staje się portret zmarłej matki poetki, a wypełnieniem ognisty i ironiczny antywojenny manifest, w którym autorka nie tylko atakuje amerykański imperializm uwidaczniający się podczas II wojny irackiej, ale też zastanawia się nad sensem wojny i przemocy. Elegia urodzonego w Wielkiej Brytanii poety, a szczególnie użyta tam dwuznaczna fraza »poetry makes nothing happen«, jest punktem wyjścia i pretekstem dla Ostriker do zainicjowania dialogu na temat roli poezji i jej związku z polityką. Analiza obu wierszy w zestawieniu z esejami obojga autorów na temat poezji, ich innymi dziełami, a także „powojennymi elegiami” (The Shield of Achilles i The Eight and Thirteenth) pokazuje, że stanowisko obojga poetów odnośnie do roli poezji jest niejednoznaczne i zmienne. Ciekawe są również ich poetyckie rozważania w kontekście dylematu zasygnalizowanego w wierszu Ostriker pt. Wiersz 60 lat po Auschwitz, w którym poetka zastanawia się, jaki ma być kształt poezji i jej wydźwięk po Holocauście.
In Memory of W. B. Yeats by W. H. Auden and Elegy Before the War by A. Ostriker are two “pre-war” elegies, in which the personal element is confronted with the political. The Auden’s poem portrays the death of a known figure with the background of the unsteady 30s of the 20th century, when the fear of fascism and its repercussions was common. In the long, 7-pieces work of Ostriker framework is the portrait of the poet’s dead mother, and the inlay is the ardent and ironic anti-war manifesto, in which the author not only attacks the American imperialism obvious during the Iraqi war, but she also meditates on the sense of war and violence. The elegy of the poet born in Great Britain, and especially the phrase “poetry makes nothing happen”, is the starting point and a pretext for Ostriker to initiate a dialogue regarding the role of poetry and its relationship to the politics. The analysis of both poems in regard to the essays of both authors discussing the sense of poetry, their other works, and also the “post-war elegies” (The Shield of Achilles and The Eight and Thirteenth) reveals that the stance of both of the poets regarding the role of poetry is ambiguous and unstable. Also interesting are their poetical considerations in the context of the dilemma indicated in the Ostriker’s Poem 60 Years after Auschwitz, in which the poet wonders, what should be the shape of poetry and its overtone after the holocaust.
