Opis:
The article analyses the relation between the process of media convergence and hybridization of contemporary reportage. The integration of old and new media in a single journalistic report of hybrid character is being analysed here. The author presents this phenomenon using Dzienniki kołymskie by J. Hugo-Bader as an example. It is a work which oscillates between travel diary and travel reportage, it was first published in sections on an Internet press portal. Additionally, the specific character of multimedia journalism and the poetics of digital reportages are commented on in the article.

The authors present the opportunities of using multimedia as an art therapy technique in the treatment of people suffering from mental disorders, whilst pointing out the limitations of this method. They classify patients into two groups: those with mental disorders and those manifesting mental symptoms, and present, in addition to the benefits - the risk of the use of multimedia. Individuals with mental disorders, especially psychotic patients (e.g. those with schizophrenia) may react differently to the proposed multimedia techniques compared with neurotic patients. The way they react depends mainly on the stage of the disease (acute or stable, remission of symptoms) and its nature. The use of multimedia may help schizophrenic patients recover, but it may also worsen their mental state. It may activate psychotic symptoms (e.g. delusions of thought insertion), trigger fear, anxiety and lead to the withdrawal from art therapy activities. For patients with neurotic disorders (anxiety disorders such as social phobia) multimedia can be a training of creative powers in rebuilding the ego, self-observation and a training to create a social network. There is little available research on the topic, so it is difficult to clearly assess the effectiveness of this technique in the process of recovery. However, the progress of civilization in the rehabilitation of mentally ill individuals enforces measures suitable to the times in which we live.

The article discusses changes in education that have resulted from the digital revolution. The author analyses changes in young people’s behaviour, their mentality, their methods of learning and the consequences of these changes. Both in the classroom as well as on the computer screen pupils can apply similar strategies of dealing with tasks (with difficult situation). For this reason multimedia programs for learning mathematics treated are as educational alternative manner of the forming amongst children abilities of solving problems. Domain of computer programs is better adapting the level of difficulty of tasks to individual possibilities of each of users. It seems that contemporary multimedia programs are effective (Kaczmarek, 2003; Watoła, 2006; Raszka, 2008). However from conducted research which are taking into account behavior of pupils while using the computer is pointing out to the uncertainty in this belief. It turns out that abilities acquired while using the multimedia program of children aren't transferring for solving problems in tasks of the paper-pencil type (Kengfeng, 2008).

The objective of this study is to examine and better understand the impact of new technologies on multimedia journalism, mainly from the viewpoint of augmented reality (AR). Then, in the context of literature review, and in view of recent real-world examples of AR experience introduced by Harvard Business Review, the author will explore and critically evaluate the idea of using AR as a tool to help attract customers to newspapers and other print media. Apart from compelling content, newspapers can start offering a thrilling and enjoyable experience thanks to the implementation of innovative technologies. Thus, they can enhance multimedia journalism and take it to a whole new level. The study is complemented by an empirical probe focused on the current preferred ways of reading newspapers by readers in both the Czech Republic and the Slovak Republic. The survey also reveals the level of the survey respondents’ awareness and imagination of ‘live images’ as an engaging part of media content. Simultaneously, specific examples of AR used in different industries are delineated and associated questions and directions for further research are suggested.

Interactive movies are a result of a dialogue between expanded cinema and the art of new media. First examples of this phenomenon were interactive film installations. Jeffrey Shaw, Luc Courchesne and Grahame Weinbren are among the precursors of this trend. Their works are fundamental to the history of interactive movies. Creations of the first two artists were of a visual and immersive character and their artistic projects resulted in creating the idea of interactive participants in film events and the concept of ‘panoramic dispositive’ as a sphere of interactive film experiences. The use of makerspaces in education has exploded around the world over the past decade (Halverson & Sheridan, 2014); however, their employment in professional development for teachers has only recently emerged within the literature. Previous studies have found that makerspaces have the potential to radically transform how professional development is delivered to teachers by fostering nurturing opportunities to collaboratively engage in professional learning (see Girvan et al., 2016; Kjällander et al., 2017; Panganelli et al., 2017). Despite its emergence in the literature, the study of makerspaces in teacher professional development is limited to those studies inspired by STEAM education (science, technology, engineering, arts, and math). Consequently, little knowledge exists about their use in professional development for second language teachers. While presenting data gathered from reflective feedback questionnaires of teacher participants taking part in makerspace workshops, this paper contributes to the conversation in the literature by exploring the utility and application of makerspaces as professional development for second language teaching. The goal of the study was to explore in what ways this type of experiential professional development might enhance professional learning and reflective practice and contribute to professional growth and development among early career second language teachers. Findings strongly indicate that makerspace professional development sessions offer second language teachers a positive and supportive space in which to reflect and expand on their professional knowledge of best practices in second language teaching by directly engaging with learning activities meant to support students in their acquisition of the target language.
