The aim of this article is to present hydrometeorological security as part of the security battle. The author draws our attention to the historical roots of the impact of weather on military operations, its impact on the success or failure of the latter. Particular attention was paid to the importance of precise standard hydrometeorological conditions

The MCDA technique has been extensively and successfully applied for supporting decision making in negotiation processes. The mostly used techniques SAW, AHP or TOPSIS are based on direct preference information which requires from negotiator a clear and precise definition all the parameters of the preference model (e.g. issue weights, option rates, aspiration and reservation values etc.), so those techniques can be successfully applied in well-structured negotiation problems. But, many real negotiation problems are illstructured, that means that the negotiation space is imprecisely defined, and the negotiator’s preferences the vagueness or imperfect. The main purpose of this paper is to investigate the potentials and the applicability the UTA method, one of the techniques based on indirect preference information, in evaluation of negotiation offers, especially in ill-structured negotiation problems. The UTA (Jacquet-Lagreze and Siskos, 1978, 1982, 2001) is a multicriteria decision making method which is based on the linear programming model for inferring additive utility functions from a set of representative decision data. The example is also presented to elaborate and demonstrate the holistic judgment and the usefulness UTA approach for evaluation negotiation offers.

The article is of a review nature and it is related to the problems of selected forms of support provided to people with intellectual disabilities in Poland. The purpose of the article is to present and evaluate the justifiability and functionality of basic instruments of support for people with intellectual disabilities in the legal and social dimension, and to specify the position of this category of our country’s residents within the system of education, employment and career development policies aimed at them. The issues related to the situation of people with intellectual disabilities are treated holistically, presenting tendencies related to systemic factors that shape the normalization concept and provide a foundation for social integration policy carried out for people with intellectual disabilities.

The purpose of the study was to determine the relationships between grandparents’ support, communication with peers, and resilience among adolescents with single mothers. Also, the role of gender in the above-mentioned phenomena was looked at. The study was conducted using the Berlin Social Support Scales (BSSS), the proprietary Scale of Communication of Adolescents with Peers (SKAR); Resilience Measurement Scale SPP-18, as well as a personal survey. The sample included 145 adolescent girls and 137 boys. The results showed that, when it comes to communication with their peers, the participants of the study did not significantly differ from each other. The boys were significantly more resilient, while the girls seeked and received their grandparents’ support significantly more often. In both groups, significantly positive relationships were observed between resilience, grandparents’ support, and openness in communication with peers. This result is in opposition to the relationships with difficult communication. In conclusion, the gender of adolescents plays an important role in using resources and in shaping relationships with peers.

In this article the author tried to answer the question, what kind of role has the unemployed, who are using network of the professional support. For this purpose the author discussed the way of support for people staying unemployed and the relations between them and the helper. This subject was chosen, because of progressing professionalism in help services, which could lead to loss help in overcome difficult life situation. The support was showed just as unemployed see it. To emphasize, how few changes was made in time the author compared nowadays help relations and the situation of unemployed from the stories of the past, which are present in the book “Pamiętniki bezrobotnych”.

Research over the past decades has demonstrated that the social support impacts significantly on health of individuals and their ability to cope with stress. The purpose of this study was to examine the level and kinds of the received support and examine its predictors. The study was performed personally, using interviews based on the structural questionnaires. The group of respondents consisted of 203 people aged 65 years and over living in rural areas in Małopolska. The social support was evaluated by means of the Medical Outcomes Study Social Support Survey (MOS SSS) scale. The analysis of the collected research material was performed using the statistical package SPSS 19 for Windows and multivariate analysis techniques. The obtained results indicate that participants were experienced high level of instrumental support. In addition, the level and type of received support was determined by respondents: age, self-health assessment, disability in physical functioning and family situation.

The article contains a brief description of existing methods and programs to promote business in Poland, Russia and Romania. Financial support for businesses can be obtained either from the European Union or from other sources. The success of small and medium-sized enterprises is crucial for increasing employment and creating new jobs. The effects of economic activities largely depend on the skills of the workforce and its ability to adapt to changes. This is why many businesses can benefit from ESF assistance in order to increase the competence and flexibility of their most valuable asset – their employees.For this reason, in this article assumptions about scholarship programs such as „Erasmus practices „and„ Erasmus for young entrepreneurs” are presented. Moreover, this article provides a brief description of activities carried out by a local IT company and students from the University of Pitesti during the „Erasmus practice” project. However, studies, especially those concerning Poland, suggest that at present business people are not interested in free trainings. Direct and immediate possibility of financial support in order to make investments and to reduce labor costs are a more relevant issue to them. Such support is particularly important to young entrepreneurs who have a „business idea”. To prepare this article, information available from the Internet, from the official websites of government institutions, banks, portals, the European Union states and others, as well as international media was used.
Artykuł zawiera krótki opis istniejących sposobów i programów wspierania biznesu w Polsce, Rosji i R umunii. Wsparcie finansowe dla przedsiębiorstw można uzyskać zarówno z Unii Europejskiej, jak i z innych źródeł. Sukces małych i średnich przedsiębiorstw ma kluczowe znaczenie dla zwiększenia zatrudnienia i tworzenia nowych miejsc pracy. Efekty działalności gospodarczej w dużym stopniu zależą od umiejętności pracowników i ich zdolności do przystosowania się do zmian. To dlatego wielu przedsiębiorców może skorzystać z pomocy EFS w celu zwiększenia kompetencji i elastyczność ich najcenniejszego zasobu – pracowników. Z tego powodu w niniejszym artykule zostały przedstawione założenia dotyczące programów stypendialnych, np.: „Erasmus praktyki” oraz „Erasmus dla młodych przedsiębiorców”. Co więcej, niniejszy artykuł zawiera krótki opis zrealizowanego przez firmę komputerową oraz studentów z Uniwersytetu w Pitesti projektu w ramach „Erasmus praktyki”. Przeprowadzone badania, szczególnie te dotyczące Polski świadczą jednak o tym, że biznesmeni nie są obecnie zainteresowani bezpłatnymi szkoleniami. Bardziej istotne są dla nich bezpośrednie i natychmiastowe możliwości wsparcia finansowego w celu prowadzenia inwestycji oraz zmniejszenia kosztów pracy. Tego rodzaju wsparcie jest szczególnie ważne dla młodych przedsiębiorców posiadających „pomysł na biznes”. Aby przygotować niniejszy artykuł, wykorzystano dostępne informacje z Internetu, jak i oficjalnych stron instytucji rządowych, banków, portali Unii Europejskiej, oraz z krajowych i międzynarodowych środków masowego przekazu.

Przedstawiony artykuł poświęcony jest tendencjom rozwoju przedsiębiorczości akademickiej. W pierwszej jego części omówiono pojęcie oraz formy przedsiębiorczości akademickiej. Rozwój tej postaci przedsiębiorczości jest konsekwencją przekształceń uczelni wyższych oraz jej dopasowania do wyzwań współczesnego rozwoju gospodarczego. Without prejudice to numerous institutions organized in the best possible way, nothing affect interpersonal relations as much as individual, empathic and intimate contact with other human being does. The greatest help in case of any challenge is the support of another person followed by an institution. The similar thesis was put forward but A. Zurek who claimed that people comprise the most important link in the process or rehabilitation, both those who provide care and those who receive it. When people face the fact of disability so called first circle of support seems to play a major role in dealing with the experience. Its purpose is to provide specific type of support aimed at creating measures to overcome negative consequences of the disability. Social support includes care, trust, respect (emotional support), expressing acceptance, encouragement and understanding. The purpose of this article is to show the importance of human assistance as a crucial component of social and proffessional rehabilitation of people with disabilities.

The article presents the range of decisions made by the member-states of the European Union about the optional support given to production. Since 2015 it has been an element of the first pillar of the Common Agricultural Policy. The article provides an overview of the production support instruments implemented in Poland (indicating the essence of changes introduced in 2017). It also compares trends and the amount of support provided as part of this instrument in individual EU member-states. The research showed that the EU member-states showed big interest in the support offered to production. It was manifested both by the multitude of payments made and the considerable use of the maximum financing limit.

Communication is one of the most important aspects of everyday life. One of its most characteristic features is its diversity as “it rangers from the mass media and popular culture, through language to individual and social behavior” (Fiske 1990:13). The way we talk depends on a number of factors, such as where a conversation takes place, when, why, how and with whom. Thus, “One person’s language use will vary widely according to the needs of the social context” (Jule 2008:27). One has to learn how to communicate successfully through many situational interactions since both communicative competence and success consist in making appropriate choices in contextual, situational and social settings. It is usually stressed that whereas men’s communication styles are associated with competition and dominance, women’s conversation strategies are based on cooperation and politeness (Trask 1999:183). In the following paper we intend to verify the linguistic data obtained so far and focus on the most principal aspects of communication, which are: turn taking, backchannels and interruptions. The purpose of the analysis is to investigate characteristics of conversation strategies in the speech of both male and female speakers talking to each other and exchanging their views on a particular topic during relatively spontaneous male-female interactions, that is mixed-gender interviews. We will seek to analyze the occurrence of backchannels and interruptions the use of which could be indicative of either support, agreement, involvement or dominance, competition and even hostility on the part of the speakers. The participants consist of randomly selected students at the age of 20-25 who study English at the English Department.

As a last resort for Germany’s most at-risk youths, socio-educational support abroad has been practiced for more than 40 years. Far removed from Germany, difficult to educate youths receive social educational assistance in a variety of formats. The present article discusses this special social work concept that currently figures little in international child welfare discussions. It begins by introducing the concept of projects abroad, then moves on to present evidence of the program’s effectiveness from the client’s perspective. It will become apparent that a large gap exists between socio-educational goals and implementation, a background against which the discussion on appropriate child welfare interventions must be (re)visited.
