In her paper the author points to the impoverishment of the popular and policy discourse on good parenting and highlights a glaring absence of the moral dimension and moral language in the debate. This fact unveils a somewhat flattened understanding of the process of child-rearing - devoid of moral reflection, moral choices, and moral concepts, thus giving the impression that modern parenting is solely a matter of skilful application of universal, neutral, scientifically verified procedures and tools. Such discourse promotes, so called, effective parenting conceptualized as a set of skills or ‘the science of parenting’ rather than the process that should assign moral meaning to the things parents and educators do with children. The paper reveals weaknesses of such conceptualization by unveiling some of its underlying assumptions that are questionable and yet determine the discussion on and approach to child-rearing and parenting in Britain today.

Opis:
In this article, we verify the hypothesis that the creation of new fields of studies at the institutions of higher education is caused by factors other than thorough analysis of the needs demonstrated by employers at the job market. The author analyzes the rules of creating new degrees and the goals of their creation presented by colleges, pointing out in particular to the consequences it bears for financing the institutions of higher education. We demonstrate, through examples, the creativity of colleges and universities in harnessing the legal changes introduced by the new bill, The Law on Higher Education. That transpires, particularly, in exploiting the opportunities created by erasure of the list of degrees, which used to be made by the minister and ceding the authority in this area to the universities. The analysis shows that the creation of new areas of study not necessarily leads to a meritorious improvement (modernization) of the course of studies. That is particularly visible in declared educational outcomes.

The article highlights the main directions of creative cooperation of scientists and educators of the Republic of Poland and Ukraine. Certain directions are analyzed, the dynamism of this process, its expansion and deepening caused by a combination of factors are characterized. The leading among them is the human factor, which determines humanization, spirituality, internal motivation in the “man-man” system. Particular attention is paid to the understanding of the role of the scientist’s personality, his state vision and influence on this process. A vivid example of such a scholar is Franciszek Szlosek, Doctor Habilitated, Professor, Director of the Institute of Pedagogy of The Maria Grzegorzewska University in Warsaw, Foreign Member of the National Academy of Pedagogical Sciences of Ukraine, Head of the Scientific Society “Poland-Ukraine”. His name, ideas, concrete and fruitful activity, aimed at developing international cooperation, became part of the history of Ukrainian pedagogical science and education at the end of the 20th century - the beginning of the 21st century.
