    Purpose. The aim of this article is to research the church activity of metropolitan Velamin Rutski, which consists in the integration of administrative elements of the Catholic Church in orthodox convents. To reveal the state of Kyiv Metropolitanate in time of Velamin Rutski, uniting dialogue with orthodox hierarchy. Methods. It is used historical and cultural, biographic, descriptive methods. Results. In the article it is stated the biographical data of Velamin Rutski, revealed his innovations in orthodox monasteries, church-government. These changes formed new generation of Ukrainian priests, developed education of the people, their Christian Sciences in XVII century. The research reports about the uniting activity of Velamin Rutski, the state of Kyiv Metropolitanate, the reception of the Union of Brest by polish catholics, public officials.

    Artykuł jest poświęcony zewnętrznym przemianom ukraińskiego prawosławia w latach II wojny światowej. Szczególną uwagę zwrócono na stosunki kanoniczne między Metropolią Warszawską i Patriarchatem Moskiewskim. Pod okupacją niemiecką prawosławie ukraińskie zostało podzielone na dwie grupy. Autonomiczny Kościół Prawosławny zarządzony przez metropolitę Aleksego Hromadskiego uznawał jurysdykcję Patriarchatu Moskiewskiego. Metropolita Warszawski Dionizy Waledyński popierał ustanowenie Ukraińskiego Autokefalicznego Kościóła Prawosławnego i mianował arcybiskupa Polikarpa Sikorskiego administratorem tego Kościóła na ziemiach Ukrainy. Sikorski w lutym 1942 r. w Pińsku wyświęcił dwóch nowych ukraińskich władyków (Nikanora Abramowicza i Ihora Hubę). W maju 1942 r. w Kijowie Sobór Biskupów UAKP nadał Dionizemu godność locum tenens metropolii kijowskiej.
    The role of the Metropolitan of Warsaw Dionisii Valedynskyi constituting the wartime Ukrainian Autocephalous Orthodox Church The article deals with external transformation of Ukrainian orthodoxy during the World War II. Special attention is paid to the canonical relations between the Warsaw Metropolitanate and the Moscow Patriarchate. Under German occupation, ukrainian orthodoxy split into two groups. One trend was led by Metropolitan Oleksii Hromadskyi who created the Autonomous Orthodox Church under the Moscow Patriarchate. Metropolitan of Warsaw Dionisii Valedynskyi gave his blessing for the establishment of the Ukrainian Autocephalous Orthodox Church and designated Archbishop Polikarp Sikorskyi as administrator of the church. In February 1942 in Pinsk Sikorsky consecrated the fi rst two bishops of the UAOC on Ukrainian territory (Nykanor Abramovych and Ihor Huba), and in May 1942 the Kyiv Council of UAOC bishops elected Dionisii as locum tenens of the Metropolitan See of Kyiv

    Na podstawie Traktatu o Kościele Teodosija Sofonowycza autorka artykułu przeprowadza szczegółową analizę cech graficznych i ortograficznych zabytku, które odzwierciedlają system fonetyczny i fonologiczny języka ukraińskiego drugiej połowy XVII wieku. Autorka zwraca szczególną uwagę na wzajemne relacje zachodzące pomiędzy ukraińskim wariantem języka cerkiewnosłowiańskiego tego czasu a prostą mową. Dochodzi przy tym do wniosku, że prace drukowane w Kijowie miały własną ortografię, która różniła się od ortografii stosowanej w poleskiej odmianie języka pisanego.
    Based on Teodosii Sofonovych’s Treatise about the Church, the author offers a detailed analysis of its graphic and orthographic features which reflect the phonetic and phonological system of the Ukrainian language of the 2nd part of the 17th century. An emphasis is placed on the interrelations between the Ukrainian recension of Church Slavonic of that time with the prostaja mova. The author concludes that the Kyivan works had their own orthography which was different from that used in the Polissian variety of the written language.

    Since modern Slavic studies lack a uniform concept of the Ukrainian redaction of the Church Slavonic language, this article analyzes the major achievements of Ukrainian linguistics in the study of this phenomenon. Applying the method of linguistic historiography, the author describes the emergence of a national concept, according to which written sources – reflecting the features of the Ukrainian language from different periods of its formation – attest to the existence of a single Ukrainian redaction. The development of views on the Church Slavonic language is evidenced by the works of M. Maksymovych, I. Ohienko, G.Y. Shevelov, V. Nimchuk. Today different schools are primarily concerned with the quantitative interpretation of particular features of the Ukrainian redaction. Such an interpretation is largely premised on the 19th‑century Russian philological tradition which does not take into consideration the historical differentiation of East Slavic. Burdened with problematic terms like Russian, such an approach remains in contrast with Ukrainian linguistics, which accepts the existence of the Ukrainian redaction of Church Slavonic since the times of Kyivan Rus’.

    The Ukrainians were displaced in 1947. The number of 2734 people were displaced to the the vicinity of Wałcz. The Greek Catholic church was considered illegal in Poland. The Greek Catholic parish in Wałcz, which was established only in 1959, played an important role in shaping religious and national consciousness among Ukrainians on the Land of Wałcz. In 1959 Teodor Markiw, priest begins his pastoral work. The Greek Catholic parish was a pillar in the fi ght against national and religious assimilation for the displaced Ukrainian population from the “Vistula” campaign. The Ukrainian community was going through various stages of its existence, among others: a period without specifi c forms of religious worship – the believers without a parish, pastoral activity and integration of a dispersed community. The Greek Catholic parish helps break down various stereotypes. The Ukrainian community in Wałcz keeps in close contact with Ukraine. The article shows the presents activity of the parish on two levels: religious and national.

    Opis:
    The article analyses the lexical substitutions in Apocrysys polemic tractate by Krystofor Filalet, printed in the year 1598 or 1599, in the Ostrog printing house owned by Great Prince of Ostrog. It is the translation of the Polish version of Apocrysys printed in 1597 in O. Rodeckyi’s printing house. The copies of this old printed work in the ”ruska mova” („the Ruthenian language”), kept at the V.I. Vernadsky National Library of Ukraine and at the Vilnius University Library, were compared. In the old printed texts, translation of words was proposed with the help of notes on the page margins. Lexical substitutions are analyzed in the context, their fi xation in the contemporary dictionaries and historical lexicographical papers is indicated. Notably, the substitutions of Latinisms and, occasionally, Polonisms prevail. Church Slavonic and bookish Ukrainian elements appear instead. It was concluded that text substitutions in the Apocrysys may have other translation and explanation in dictionaries of that time, or are not recorded in them at all.
