    The article deals with the origin, development and importance of the Ukrainian literature that has been present in Poland since 1956. It was then that Ukrainians were able not only to easily express their artistic creativity, but they could also publish their works in the newly created media. The founders of the Ukrainian poetry in Poland were Ostap Lapskyy, Eugene Samohvalenko, Jakiv Hudemchuk, Mila Luchak, Olga Petyk and others. Among the main motives of their poems were longing for their homeland, loss of their native land, love of the homeland, and a high value of their native language. Since the eighties of 20 century, there has appeared literature of the new, younger generation.

    Objectives: Purpose is to find out functional meta-lingual constructions ( meta-lingual reflexive ), expressed be metaphor, in political texts, that is one of the main way in a connection the politics with the society and lead to understanding and establishing effective dialogue between political speaker and addressee. Material and methods: A systematic analysis of scientific literature on the above-mentioned issues was conducted, To achieve this goal; cases of using a metaphor as a meta-language reflexion in political texts was described; a comparative analysis of the influence of political texts with meta-language elements, expressed by a metaphor, and political texts without meta-material elements on the addressee is carried out. Results: It has been found out that the meta-language element, expressed by a metaphor, performs a function in political texts: - influence on the intelligence, sense and will of the addressee; - Adjustment of concepts in order to create a certain thought and structure of human thinking in the process of political activity; - identification of the social, political, value orientations of the addressee, his ideological heterogeneity; - formation of appraisal meanings concerning the speeches of subjects of political discourse, that is, positive or negative thoughts on a particular political situation. Conclusions: Metaphorical reflections expressed by a metaphor - are an integral element in contemporary political discourse, because in a context of fierce competition, the subjects of political activity need to express their point of view clearly and clearly, persuade the interlocutor in their own right, attract as many supporters as possible to support their ideas

    The article is devoted to the main directions of studying emotions in linguistics. The subject of the study are the works of Polish, Russian and Ukrainian linguists, devoted to the description of the verbalisation of emotions. The analysis of works shows that the main linguistic directions in the study of the concepts of emotions are linguocognitivistics and linguoculturology. The main approaches to the semantic description of the verbalisation of emotions can be called semantic, metaphorical and combined. Despite the diversity of vectors of linguistic analysis, each study reconstructs a separate fragment of the general linguistic picture of the world of emotions.

Kobyletskyi essay, reflecting individual artist's worldview, there are stylistic tropes and figures: metaphor, personification, simile, antithesis, adjectives, hyperbole, litotes, allusions, combining different styles vocabulary that help tie together and convey to the audience seemingly contradictory events and phenomena witnessed was an outstanding scholar and writer.

    Opis:
    We came to the conclusion that narrowing of meaning and metonymy are two main types of semantic derivation of all thematic fields of religious vocabulary (52% and 42%, respectively). Metaphor (6%) as a form of semantic derivation and an empirical classifier of the objects of observation is counterproductive in the religious sphere, since for the religious vocabulary empiricalness is not the main source of spiritual knowledge. Active narrowing of well-known and specialized meanings is the result of linguistic conservatism, the emergence of new functions of objects and changes in the knowledge about them. The disappearance of many of the primary meanings was induced by sustainable consolidation of religious narrowings, and frequent replacement of considerable part of them with synonymic equivalents made their functioning to be just a temporal phenomenon. Metonymy in the religious vocabulary as an effective means to achieve economy of speakers’ efforts is well-developed by local, temporal, causal, attributive and synecdochic types. Metaphors created directly by individuals in their religious activities and those from the Bible that underwent terminologization were created in different ways, namely according to the similarity of features (such as function, external feature, relation of subordination, unreal [but desirable] feature, associative characteristics of emotive evaluative nature).

    Nawiązując do aktualnej sytuacji w poezji współczesnej podczas kolejnych działań wojennych pomiędzy Rosją a Ukrainą, autor obala słynne powiedzenie Cycerona „Inter arma, silent Musae” (łac.: Pośród szczęku broni, milczą muzy). W dobie po 24 lutego na sile przybrał gatunek mobilny ze względu na pojawienie się psychotypu zapaleńca, w którym pamięć historyczna i etniczna dają asumpt do historycznie uzasadnionego oporu wobec moskiewskiego agresora, obrony domu, rodziny, ziemi, godności ludzkiej i narodowej. Taki żarliwiec stał się głównym bohaterem lirycznym we współczesnej poezji ukraińskiej, której wielu twórców rekrutuje się spośród żołnierzy Sił Zbrojnych Ukrainy, oddziałów Obrony Terytorialnej, sanitariuszy, ochotników, a także uchodźców i naocznych świadków bohaterskich czynów i cierpień na granicy życia i śmierci, dokonywanych i doznawanych w imieniu narodu. Pierwszorzędne znaczenie przypisuje się sile oporu Słowa, które może być atrakcyjne zarówno pod względem publicystycznym, jak i retorycznym. Ten środek wyrazu zyskuje jednak na głębi i znaczeniu, jeśli zostaje zaprzęgnięty na potrzeby zrozumienia konkretnych realiów wojskowych, osobiście doświadczanych przez poszczególnych autorów. Często przybiera formę przekonujących uogólnień, filozoficznych medytacji w szacie poezji, tworzących podwaliny namiętnej ontologii niezłomnego narodu ukraińskiego, usilnie dążącego do unicestwienia niszczycielskich sił Moskwy. Autor stwierdza, że bez znaczenia jest wybór rodzaju wiersza – czy to akcentowanego czterowiersza, czy giętkiego wiersza wolnego. W artykule autor przedstawia panoramę współczesnej poezji ukraińskiej, analizując jej specyficzne cechy gatunkowe i stylistyczne, poszukując korzeni twórczego potencjału słowa poetyckiego w trudzie wojennym. Jest to nowa, choć po brzegi zapisana, strona literatury ukraińskiej. W ogniu wojny rosyjsko-ukraińskiej poezja ukraińska uosabia nowy paradygmat sensów i oczekiwań, obalając aforyzm Cycerona. Osadzona w obiektywnych realiach frontowej codzienności, cierpienia, zmagań na granicy życia i śmierci twórczość zaświadcza o istnieniu nowego psychotypu bohatera lirycznego, odpowiadającego swemu fizycznemu pierwowzorowi, który staje do walki w obronie domu, rodziny, ziemi, godności ludzkiej i narodowej przeciwko moskiewskiemu agresorowi. Ukazana w artykule panorama współczesnej liryki ukraińskiej w jej różnorodności gatunkowej i stylistycznej daje podstawy, by wnioskować nie tylko o nieprzebranym potencjale twórczym najbardziej mobilnego gatunku – czy wręcz odmiany gatunkowej, lecz również o tym, że nowo wykształcony nurt literatury ukraińskiej zdążył przybrać dojrzałą formę. Omawiana w artykule wojenna poezja liryczna wpisuje się w nową narrację kulturową Ukrainy, ukierunkowaną na przewartościowanie i ugruntowanie koncepcji wojny i związanych z nią pojęć, takich jak ból, tragedia ludzka, możliwości człowieka, godność, ludzkie wartości, demokracja itp. W artykule poddano analizie i usystematyzowano nowe modele narracyjne i specyfikę stylistyczną współczesnych ukraińskich tekstów lirycznych.
    In the paper, the author, referring to the real situation in the contemporary poetry during the new round of the Russian-Ukrainian war refutes the famous Cicero’s saying “Inter arma, silent Musae” (En. “When arms speak, Muses are silent”). After February 24th, a powerful rise of the mobile genre happened due to the emergence of the psychotype of the passionary, who, nourished by historical and ethnomental memory, motivates historically-justified resistance to the Moscow aggressor, defending his home, family, land, and human and national dignity. He became the main lyrical hero of the contemporary Ukrainian poetry, among the authors of which there are many soldiers of the Armed Forces of Ukrainian, Territorial Defence troops, hospitallers, volunteers, as well as exiles and eyewitnesses of the national verge of life and death due to heroic actions and suffering. The primary importance is given to the resistive energy of the Word, which can be journalistically appealing and formulaically rhetorical. However, it is deeper and more important when it focuses on understanding the specific features of military reality, personally experienced by each author, which often acquire convincing generalisations, philosophical meditations, which in poetic form comprehend the passionate ontology of the inalienable Ukrainian people with the intention to eliminate the destructive forces of Moscow. The author states that it does not matter which verse forms are chosen – faceted quatrains or flexible verlibriums. In the paper, the author has highlighted the panorama of the contemporary Ukrainian poetry, analysing its specific genre and style features, clarifying the creative potential of the poetic word in the harsh circumstances of the war, a new thoroughly filled page of Ukrainian literature. The poetry in Ukraine in the situation of the Russian-Ukrainian war, refuting Cicero’s aphorism, acquired a new paradigm of senses and expectations. Immersed in the objective specifics of everyday life at the front, suffering, trials on the border of life and death, it testified to a new psychotype of the lyrical hero, analogous to his real prototype, who, defending his home, his family, his land, and human and national dignity, is motivated to resist the Moscow aggressor. The panorama of contemporary Ukrainian lyrics in its genre and stylistic diversity highlighted in the article gives reason to assert not only the inexhaustible creative potential of the most mobile genre-genre variety, but also a thoroughly filling new page of Ukrainian literature. The lyrical poetry on war discussed in this article is a part of the new cultural narrative of Ukraine that is oriented to re-think and reinforce the concepts of war and connected with this concept notions, e.g. pain, human catastrophe, human powers, dignity, human values, democracy, etc. The new narrative models and stylistic peculiarities of the contemporary Ukrainian lyrical texts have been analysed and systematised in this paper.

    Opis:
    This article deals the role and place of stylistic devices in a work of art in the literary pragmatics context. Operating on the level «author – work – reader», literary pragmatics offers an interpretation of the text together in the light of hidden information. The paper focuses on the stylistic analysis of the dialogues of the characters in Richard Aldington’s novel “Death of a Hero” and defining the pragmatic functions of the given stylistic devices as source of implicit information. In addition to direct descriptions, Richard Aldington characterizes his characters through their speech. Stylistic figures in the dialogues help to assess the situation and understand the way of thinking of characters and their personal features. Phonetic and graphic stylistic devices often indicate the social background of the speaker, his emotional state and situations in which dialogues take palce. Syntactic stylistic means in dialogues are usually broken sentences, they do not add much aesthetic beauty or understanding of ideas, but they allow the author to make characters more believable so that readers feel for them. Syntactic stylistic devices in the dialogues of the novel provide readers with an opportunity to complete the thought of the character, to understand the course of their thoughts. The most frequently used stylistic devices in the dialogues of the novel Richard Aldington are of a lexical stratum; they not only enrich the language of a character, but also allow to evaluate their intelligence, depth of knowledge, imagination level, social background, age group, era. It is thanks to the stylistic devices that the author implicitly manages to explain that there has always been an abyss of misunderstanding between the protagonist and his surrounding, regardless of where he was at a certain stage of life. The contrast of the use of tropes in the speech of the protagonist before and after he became a soldier, demonstrating the fundamental changes in his outlook, shows a particularly important pragmatic function of the stylistic devices usage.
    Дана стаття розглядає роль і місце стилістичних засобів у художньому творі в контексті літературної прагматики. Опираючись на рівень «автор – твір - читач», літературна прагматика пропонує трактування тексту із урахуванням прихованої інформації. Метою даної розвідки є стилістичний аналіз діалогічного мовлення персонажів роману Річарда Олдінгтона «Death of a Hero» та визначення прагматичних функцій зазначених стилістичних засобів як носіїв імпліцитної інформації. Окрім прямих авторських описів, Річарда Олдінгтон характеризує своїх персонажів через їхнє мовлення. Стилістичні фігури у діалогах допомагають оцінити ситуацію та зрозуміти спосіб мислення і характери головних героїв. Фонетичні та графічні стилістичні засоби найчастіше вказують на соціальне походження мовця, іноді на його емоційний стан та особливості мовлення. Синтаксичні стилістичні засоби у діалогах досить часто зустрічаються у вигляді обірваних речень, що не стільки додає естетичної краси чи розуміння ідей, скільки дозволяє авторові героя правдоподібнішим, змусити читача перейнятися його проблемами. Синтаксичні стилістичні засоби у діалогах розглянутого роману націлюють читача на можливість самостійно завершити думку героя, зрозумівши хід його думок. Найчастіше в діалогах роману Річард Олдінгтон використовує лексичні стилістичні засоби, які не лише збагачують мову того чи іншого персонажа, але й дозволяють судити про широту його кругозору, глибину знань, ерудицію, образність мислення, належність до того чи іншого прошарку суспільства, вікової групи, епохи. Саме завдяки тропам авторові імпліцитно вдається пояснити, що між головним героєм та його оточенням завжди існувала прірва непорозуміння, незалежно від середовища в якому він знаходився. Особливу прагматичну функцію виконує контраст вживання тропів у мовленні головного героя до того як він став солдатом і після, демонструючи фундаментальність змін, які відбулися у його свідомості. Однією з найважливіших прагматичних функцій вживання стилістичних фігур у діалогах є надання читачам можливості отримати додаткову інформацію про покоління, яке описує Річард Олдінгтон, принципи його світогляду та систему цінностей.

    Tematem artykułu jest specyfi czna metaforyka Donbasu obecna w tekstach kultury XX oraz XXI wieku. Obraz regionu został ujęty w trzech metaforach: industrialnej, sowieckiej i postindustrialnej (apokaliptycznej), które utraciły swoje znaczenie. Kształtowanie się nowej tożsamości mieszkańców Donbasu okazało się nader trudne z powodu trwałości stereotypów z przeszłości, co doskonale pokazują teksty współczesnej literatury ukraińskiej, m.in. Ołeksandry Iwaniuk, Wołodymyra Rafi ejenki, Ołeksija Czupy, Lubow Jakymczuk etc.
    Metaphor of the Donbas is the main subject of the analysis in the suggested article. We can find it in the texts on the culture, which belong to the period of the 20th and the beginning of the 21st century. The image of this region is formed by three metaphors: industrial, soviet and post-industrial. For today they have lost their function. The process of creating of a new identity is very difficult because of the negation of the stereotypes of the past. It is reflected in the contemporary literary texts by Oleksiy Chupa, Oleksandra Ivaniuk, Volodymyr Rafeyenko, Liubov Yakymchuk.

    Artykuł poświęcony jest analizie metafory jako środka tworzenia terminów w terminologii biologicznej. Оkreślonа została rola metafory w naukowym obrazie świata w języku ukraińskim i polskim. Оpisano skojarzenia, które stały się podstawą przeniesienia metaforycznego.
    The article focuses on the analysis of metaphor as a way of creating terms in a biological terminology. Тhe role of the metaphor in creation the scientifi c picture of the world of the Ukrainian and Polish languages has been described. It has been found out which associations became the basis of a metaphorical transfer.
