    Artykuł poświęcony jest aktualnej w dzisiejszych czasach kwestii dychotomii „tolerancja — wrogość”, mającej miejsce w okresie radykalnych przemian społecznych, nasilenia się konfl iktów międzyetnicznych i międzyreligijnych, kształtowania się relacji między ludźmi i państwami, opartych na zasadach humanitaryzmu. To wiąże się ze znacznym zainteresowaniem wyżej wymienioną kwestią, potrzebą wyznaczenia jej istoty, znalezieniem skutecznych form i metod edukacji osobowości tolerancyjnej.
    The article deals with the description of the problem of tolerance and hostility that takes place during the period of a radical social change, the intensification of the inter-ethnic and interreligious conflicts, the establishment of the humane relations between people and states, all of which are characteristic features of modernity, which entails a considerable interest in defining the essence of these concepts, the development of the effective forms and methods of education, a tolerant personality.

    Opis:
    Decentralization processes are increasingly becoming the driving force of changes in the modern world, and how regional elites use their advantages and minimize their disadvantages depends on whether they will turn out to be a boon or a factor of social destruction. It is extremely important in modern conditions that the social and humanitarian sciences contribute to the conceptualization of system-dynamic interdisciplinary knowledge, the scope of which will cover not only the hierarchy of centers and peripheries within a single country, but also the space «above» state borders, which is amenable to regulation. The article is devoted to highlighting modern methodological approaches to reviewing the concepts of center-periphery relations and developing a new model of regionalism, which is based on the recognition of the freedom of pluralism and the intransitive importance of the ideas of multiculturalism. In this context, all cognitive strategies built on the advantages of the ideas of centralization, and first of all on the traditional model of center-periphery relations and modernization, undergo correction. It has been proven that the postmodern situation in which modern society is located is the least reminiscent of a domineering vertical, built according to the usual canons of center-periphery. Rather, it is associated with a heterogeneous horizon that can be modified in a wide variety of configurations. Reviewing the concepts, models and structure of established center-periphery relations contributes to rethinking the mechanisms and scope of influence of political, economic and cultural centers on the course of social development of spatial structures in the context of new challenges. Built on this foundation, the theory of center-periphery polarity is seen as an innovative operational tool in the entire system of natural and social sciences, which to one degree or another are engaged in the analysis of spatial relations

    Opis:
    The “Friend or Foe” conception is an integral component of formation of each society. This binary archetype is the object of study of several scientific disciplines and sometimes appears in their interface. It gives the opportunity to use different methodology to study its manifestations. This article examines this concept during the Revolution of Dignity in Ukraine (November 2013 February 2014), its manifestations in the dichotomy of binaries, erasing of their usual limits, uniting the former opponents under the banner of dignity, creating the new “Friend or Foe” binaries etc. The material for the study is the oral histories of participants and witnesses of the Revolution of Dignity, gathered in the first book of “Maidan. Direct speech”. The respondents are the representatives of different ages, professions, religions, social strata etc., thus giving a retrospective picture for research. There are clear “Friend or Foe” oppositions, represented with the negative opposition of Maidan members to police force, government, titushkas, pro-government press; Maidan to Anti-Maidan etc. The oppositions inside the Maydan (for example, different hundreds or locations) have different connotations: “Friend or Stranger” with neutral or positive context. Special attention is given to markers that allowed to recognize “friends” between the Maidan members. The article text is supplemented by quotes from the aforementioned collection of interviews. The style of speech of the 166 respondents is preserved. This research may be useful for the specialists of different humanitarian scientific disciplines.

    Opis:
    This article is an up-to-date research of the problem of understanding of food as a literary and cultural code, characteristic manner of the character, peculiarities of the plot organization of the text and etc. The author pays attention to the newly-published and understudied work of the famous Ukrainian writer and analyzes it in the appropriate context. This article considers the features of the novel by O. Malyarenko "Typical Borya, or Two at One Table". The work analyzes peculiarities of the genre structure of the text, identifies features of the title of the work, defines its genre specificity. This article also investigates the role of food in the structure of "Typical Borja, or Two at One Table", analyzes the level of interaction between the main characters in the work. Separately, the author of the article ponders the question about the role of the mythological concept at different levels of organization of the work.
