    El presente artículo pretende demostrar que las metáforas conceptuales tienen un gran impacto en la percepción y posterior conceptualización del dolor en las mujeres que padecen de endometriosis. El corpus está constituido por algunos posts publicados en un grupo de Facebook que conciernen a los síntomas de la enfermedad. Los resultados del análisis pueden contribuir a una mayor difusión del tema en cuestión. 
    This paper aims to illustrate the big impact of conceptual metaphors on the perception and subsequent conceptualization of pain of women suffering from endometriosis. This article is based on a selection of posts published on a Facebook group that concerns the symptoms of endometriosis disease. The results of the analysis may contribute to a wider understanding of endometriosis.

    Within the sports language, the lexical level is composed of slang, specialized terminology and figurative lexicon. This work analyzes the lexical-semantic characteristics of the football language in a corpus of news chronicles of Real Madrid football matches, published on the web site marca.com. We focus on the fundamental lexicon of these chronicles, as well as on the core concepts of them, their designations and the means of meaning.

    Natural languages include a network of associated concepts, which allow creating and/or understanding new metaphors, based on two relatively systematic types of models: archimetaphors and culturemes. An example of the productivity of both macromodels of figurative language is the concept of fruit, both as a source domain and as a target domain, that undergo the interaction between multiple linguistic metaphors and extralinguistic symbolism.

    El léxico erótico es un tema bastante recurrente en las investigaciones en torno a la lengua española. No obstante, cabe hacer notar que la mayoría de los trabajos dedicados a su estudio que se han publicado en las últimas décadas tiene carácter lexicográfico, centrándose en la agrupación de una amplia gama de términos relacionados con el sexo y el erotismo. Sorprende la escasez de publicaciones en torno a la semántica de tal vocabulario. Nuestro estudio constituye un intento de llenar esta laguna. La aplicación de las premisas de la teoría de metáfora conceptual de Lakoff y Johnson al estudio de la semántica de 410 expresiones eróticas ha revelado cierta sistematicidad de conceptos metafóricos en los términos con los cuales los españoles idean el acto sexual. Para poder detectar estas metáforas, proponemos una metodología basada en la búsqueda de la motivación visual de sus elaboraciones lingüísticas (si es posible) unida a un análisis minucioso de las definiciones lexicográficas de las unidades examinadas que aparecen en los diccionarios generales de español. En este trabajo presentamos el procedimiento analítico que hemos elaborado, pretendiendo demostrar que es posible objetivar los resultados de las investigaciones que se inscriben en las ciencias cognitivas y recrear el proceso de la (re)construcción del significado codificado en los términos referentes a la esfera erótica.

    The aim of this paper is to present some reflections concerning the multimodal metaphor, which has recently turned into a topic of growing scientific interest. The mono modal metaphor presents itself only as one means of representation (for example, verbal metaphor), while the multimodal metaphor consists of connections among domains belonging to different modes of representation. First of all, the concept of the multimodal metaphor introduced by Forceville (1996, 2008, 2009) and the possible modes of representation are explained. Th e second part of the paper concentrates on the structure and the characteristics of verbo-visual multimodal metaphors, that is, those that come as a result of interaction between linguistic (verbal narration) and iconic (visual narration) elements. Afterwards, the author discusses the newspaper cartoon, in other words, a type of opinion journalism which encodes verbal and visual discourse that intends to provide a critical and/or humorous vision of an aspect of political, social or cultural life. Th e analysis leaves no doubt that the verbo-visual genre, represented by newspaper cartoons, is a great example of the multimodal metaphor. Therefore, the paper presents a detailed description of ten newspaper cartoons taken from the opinion section of the digital version of the El País giving also emphasis to the representation of the source and target domains in terms of metaphorical-metonymical interaction.

    Este artículo analiza el trasfondo simbólico de la motivación figurativa del cerdo en la lengua china, y las huellas de dicha semiótica en su léxico figurativo, locuciones y proverbios, todo ello desde una perspectiva linguo-cultural, siguiendo la Teoría del Lenguaje Figurado Convencional de Dobrovol’skij y Piirainen (2005). Este animal conlleva un simbolismo específico de la cultura china, con valores tanto positivos como negativos, reflejando normas morales, creencias, costumbres y supersticiones. Entre sus simbolismos se pueden citar valores como la riqueza, el buen augurio, la valentía y la fuerza, la víctima predestinada, la codicia, la glotonería, la pereza, el libertinaje, la suciedad, la estupidez y la maldad. Algunas de estas metáforas y unidades fraseológicas lexicalizadas y/o paremias se asemejan a las del español, otras difi eren. Hay valores asociados al cerdo que existen tanto en chino como en español, pero la mayor parte de sus valores chinos remiten a esta cultura en particular cultura. La interpretación correcta de estas expresiones figurativas requiere un conocimiento sobre su origen y el trasfondo cultural que subyace en ellas.

    As observed by Ryszard Tokarski, the linguistic metaphors encode different types of valuations, which constitute one of the fundamental components of their semantic content and form a series of connotations revealed only in certain contexts. These valuations are connected, on the one hand, with the semantic and structural motivation of the majority of the metaphors and, on the other hand, with the influence of cultural and extra-linguistic factors on their formation (1992: 69- 81). Inspired by the work of Tokarski, who tries to determine whether the image of a human being encoded in the Polish language is positive or negative, this paper proposes to analyze the Spanish erotic lexicon in order to detect what types of valuations of lovers (both male and female) are grounded in the Castilian language. In order to achieve this goal, five lexical units concerning the sexual act, extracted from the Diccionario del sexo y el egotism by González Felix Rodriguez (2011), will be reinterpreted. The study aims to demonstrate that the search for the correlations between descriptive and evaluative elements of the meaning lexical item contributes to deeper and multidimensional studies on metaphor.
