    La escritura autobiográfica de sergio Pitol supone una rebeldía frente al género autobiográfico mismo. es la desconfianza del autor hacia la palabra como instrumento eficiente para recuperar un pasado ya desvirtuado por la memoria la que privilegia la ficción como motor de ese recuerdo. así, el “sedimento autobiográfico” no condiciona la escritura ni la clasifica dentro de los géneros autobiográficos, sino que origina ese proceso de ficcionalización.

    This article aims to highlight a key paradox in the life of a Hungarian writer Sándor Márai, who, as a European intellectual, defender of the humanistic continental tradition, was forced to emigrate to the United States. After the Allied victory in 1945, the Americans, as predicted by John Dewey in his autobiography, thought that Europe was to become a simple province of their nation, emerged with the Declaration of Independence of July 4, 1776, which proclaimed the pursuit of happiness as a human right. Since the old Europe, based on culture, civilization, and education disappeared, its foundations had to be restored on an economic basis by the European Coal and SteelCommunity. The new Europe was made possible by the treaty signed by Adenauer and de Gaulle, who, like Márai, were suspicious of the Soviet Union, and its modern and materialistic worldview, which collapsed in 1989 with the fall of the Berlin Wall, nine months after Márai’s deat

    Opis:
    In the first part, the author points out that every political community is based on so-called “foundational events.” In the case of European culture, such an event was an encounter with the message of Christianity. The second paragraph indicates that after the division of Christianity and after the religious wars, the political community in many European countries was based on a foundation independent of religion. It was recognized that since religion leads to conflicts, the political community should be based on reason itself. The age of totalitarianisms has shown that reason without reference to the transcendent truth also leads to conflict and war. In the third point, the author discusses J. Ratzinger’s proposal that the rights of every human being are better protected if members of the political community live “etsi Deus daretur.”
    W pierwszym paragrafie autor wskazuje na to, że każda wspólnota polityczna opiera się na tak zwanych „wydarzeniach założycielskich”. W przypadku kultury europejskiej takim wydarzeniem było spotkanie z przesłaniem chrześcijaństwa. W paragrafie drugim autor zauważa, iż po podziale chrześcijaństwa i wojnach religijnych wspólnota polityczna w wielu krajach europejskich została oparta na fundamencie niezależnym od religii. Uznano, że ponieważ religia prowadzi do konfliktów, to wspólnotę polityczną należy oprzeć na samym rozumie. Wiek totalitaryzmów pokazał, że rozum pozbawiony odniesienia do transcendentnej prawdy również prowadzi do konfliktów i wojen. W trzecim punkcie autor omawia propozycję J. Ratzingera, według którego prawa każdej osoby ludzkiej są zabezpieczone lepiej, jeśli członkowie wspólnoty politycznej żyją etsi Deus daretur.

    Celem pracy jest omówienie natury eseju jako gatunku literackiego. Autor prezentuje ważne opinie pisarzy, przede wszystkim hiszpańskich i iberoamerykańskich (eseistów, powieściopisarzy i poetów, jak na przykład E. Martínez Estrada, M. Picón Salas, O. Paz i B. Matamoro). Z drugiej strony autor odnosi owe opinie do szerszego problemu: eseistyki jako wyrazu kultury i nowoczesności. Opierając się na ważnych współczesnych intelektualistach i filozofach, takich jak P. Cerezo, F. Jarauta i P. Aullón de Haro, autor podkreśla ścisły związek między formą eseju i złożonymi, sprzecznymi celami i treściami, które stanowią ducha nowoczesności.

    The article tends to fathom the relations between the “baroque” as the certain identification of the Spanish World of the 16th and 17th centuries and the breathes of modernity that mere apparent in Europe, being under pressure of the iniciation of the scientific revolution, “religion reforms” and the historical background. We try to analyse this dispute by referring to some extracts from Cervantes’s Don Quijote de la Mancha and it’s influence on the formation of the proper of the ESP – American culture. 
    Esta comunicación pretende ahondar en la relación entre “barroco” como sustrato identitario del mundo hispánico en los siglos xvi y xvii y los aires de modernidad que se hacían presentes en una Europa convulsionada entre los inicios de la revolución científica, las “reformas religiosas” y las permanencias históricas. Trataremos de analizar ese debate mediante ciertos pasajes de la obra cervantina Don Quijote de la Mancha y su efecto sobre la gestación de una cultura propiamente hispanoamericana.

    Este trabajo analiza la relación entre la modernidad hegemónica, la dinámica del “sistema-mundo” y las secuelas del colonialismo cultural, gnoseológico y político en América Latina. Apoyados, principalmente, en los aportes emanados de la filosofía política, de la sociología de la cultura y de la sociología histórica intentamos desentrañar la lógica y entender la arqueología de los principales paradigmas civilizatorios que han configurado, desde el siglo XVI, determinadas figuras discursivas del imaginario societal. Nuestro objetivo es mostrar las tensiones y las continuidades que participan en la re-composición de lo político y cultural de las sociedades latinoamericanas.
    This paper analyses the relation between hegemonic modernity, the world system dynamics and the impact of cultural colonialism, both epistemological and political, in Latin America. Using mainly contributions emanating from political philosophy, cultural sociology and historical sociology, we will try to unravel the logic and to understand the archaeology of the main civilizatory paradigms that since the 16th century have shaped discursive figures of the societal imaginary. Our main objective is to show the tensions and continuities which take part in the recomposition of politics and culture in the Latin American societies.
