    Maksym Gorkij (1868-1936) – known Russian writer, dramaturge and prose writer, who gained fame not only in Russia, but also abroad. He spent many years in exile. He was nominated for the Noble Prize. In 1902 in press ap-peared performance “The lower depths”, which holds a special place in artistic work of the author. It is a kind of fable about true and different attitude to it. The reader asks yourself question, what is better: bitter truth or sweet lie ?

    Autor na przykładzie myśli Hannah Arendt podejmuje kwestię prawdy w polityce. Poddaje analizie relacje pomiędzy prawdą a polityką, prawdą a opinią, prawdą rozumu a prawdą faktu, stanowiskiem filozofa a stanowiskiem obywatela. Kwestie te rozważa na tle związków zachodzących między postępem technicznym a doskonaleniem środków przemocy. Doskonalenie to doprowadziło do wojen. Konsekwencją tego stanu rzeczy jest uformowanie się systemu zorganizowanego kłamstwa jako środka walki z prawdą w polityce.
    The author of the article, based on original interpretation of the Hannah Arendt’s concept, presents the problem of the truth in politics. He analyses the relations between the truth and politics, the truth and the opinion, the truth of the mind and the truth of the fact, the position of the philosopher and the position of the citizen. These issues are considered in the context of the relation between the technical progress and the improvement of the means of violence. This improvement has led to the wars. The consequence of this state of affairs is the system of organized lie as a weapon against the truth in politics.

    In her article, the author states that the topic of countryside in Russian lit-erature has been addressed for a long period of time and this is continued on a contemporary basis, as exemplified by literary works of new realist, including Zakhar Prilepin (Sankhja, short stories from the collection Eight) and Irina Mamaeva (Lenka’s Wedding, The Land of Gai). The depiction of countryside pre-sented by these writers is negative in meaning as descriptions of both rural life conditions and spatial elements are dominated by motifs of destruction and decay. People leaving here do not have any opportunities or hope for improvement of their lives and cannot adjust to the reality following the political transformations. Showing the vanishing of patriarchal tradition, Prilepin and Mamaeva attempt at some kind of dispute with the representatives of rural prose of the 1960s and 1970s.

    The paper deals with the analysis of representation of one of the key oppositions in A. D. Kantemir’s Satires "Truth /lLes" on microlevel of the text. The analysis con-sists in comparison of lexico-semantic fields of truth and lies, their metaphorical codes, the system of rhetorical techniques. The distinction line between truth and lies is very thin; it is nesessary to monitor the smallest details — the signs — in or-der to be able to distinguish between them. The keys to decoding these signs often lie at the microlevel of the text. Cantemir’s Satires equipe us with those keys.

    Конец двадцатого века ознаменовался появлением определенного дискурса исторической памяти в контексте национальной идентичности, и появлением новой эпистемологии, отмеченной такими понятиями, как «историческое покаяние» и «постсоветское общество», и релятивизацией таких понятий, как «истина» и «реальность». Цель работы − показать историческую память как память исторического пути белорусского народа, и выявить положительную или отрицательную роль Православной Церкви в истории этого народа во время Великой Отечественной войны. Эта тема до сих пор мало изучена.
    The end of the twentieth century is marked by the emergence of a particular discourse of historical memory in the context of national identity, and the emergence of a new epistemology, which was indicated by such concepts as “historical repentance” and “post-Soviet society,” and relativization of the concepts such as “truth” and “reality.” The aim of this paper is to identify historical memory as a memory of the historical path of the Belarusian people, to show the positive and negative aspects of the history of this nation during the Great Patriotic War, and to show the role of the Orthodox Church in Belarus in 1941-1945. This topic still requires further research.
    Dla końca XX stulecia stało się znamienne lansowanie swoistego dyskursu pamięci historycznej w kontekście tożsamości narodowej i powstania nowej epistemologii, określonej pojęciami „rozrachunku historycznego” i „społeczeństwa postsowieckiego”, relatywizacją zakresu takich pojęć jak „prawda” i „rzeczywistość”. Cel rozprawy - przedstawić pamięć historyczną jako pamięć dziejów narodu białoruskiego oraz ujawnić pozytywną lub negatywną rolę Cerkwi Prawosławnej w historii tego narodu w czasie Wielkiej Wojny Ojczyźnianej. Niniejszy temat pozostaje wciąż słabo zbadany.
