Opis:: Przełomowe innowacje (disruptive innovations) wpływają na rozwój miast, podważają statusquo wykorzystywanych dotychczas rozwiązań, ale także stanowią wyzwanie dla obywateli, którzy musząprzygotować się do życia w nowej rzeczywistości. Niniejszy artykuł stanowi przegląd literatury w obszarzewpływu przełomowych innowacji na rozwój społeczno-kulturowy miast. Jako przykłady przełomowychinnowacji omówione zostały Mapy Google, kooperatywy mieszkaniowe oraz InPost. W oparciu o dostępnemateriały przeanalizowano ich wpływ na istotne elementy społeczno-kulturowego rozwoju polskich miast,jakimi są: kształt więzi społecznych, kapitał społeczny, starzejące się społeczeństwo, formy zamieszkania,migracje, dziedzictwo kulturowe, patriotyzm lokalny i polityka miejska. Ostatecznie wskazano konsekwencje,jakie niesie ze sobą obecność przełomowych innowacji w miastach, w tym wpływ na planowanie, antycypowanieniebezpiecznych zjawisk społecznych, a także wykorzystanie potencjału innowacji w rozwiązywaniuproblemów miast.
Disruptive innovations affect the development of cities – they challenge the status quo of theapplied technologies to date, but also force citizens to adjust to the new reality. This article makes a reviewof the literature on the impact of disruptive innovations on the socio-cultural development of cities. In thiscase, Google Maps, housing cooperatives and InPost were discussed as examples of disruptive innovations.Based on the available materials, the impact on the socio-cultural dimensions of urban development wasdetermined. It included social ties, social capital, aging society, forms of residence, migrations, cultural heritage,local patriotism and urban policy. Finally, the consequences of the presence of disruptive innovationsin cities were indicated, including the impact on planning, anticipating dangerous social phenomena, as wellas using the innovation potential in addressing urban challenges.

Opis:: Każde kolejne pokolenie żyje w coraz szybszym tempie, dlatego również miasta podlegają coraz szybszym procesom transformacji. Stoją one przed coraz trudniejszymi wyzwaniami zarówno ze względu na ilość, jak i tempo zachodzenia w nich procesów transformacji (takich jak m.in. wysoki wskaźnik emigracji, utrata konkurencyjności, degradacja przestrzeni miejskiej i środowiska). Bez wprowadzenia zintegrowanych programów przeciwdziałających degradacji miast, poprawa jakości życia mieszkańców oraz przestrzeni miejskiej zdają się być niemożliwe. Podejmuje się wiele prób mających na celu znalezienie „remedium” dla współczesnych miast. Na popularności zyskuje idea Smart City, wprowadzana w coraz większej ilości ośrodków w Europie. Smart city to miasto inteligentne, czyli takie, które wykorzystuje postęp technologiczny „w służbie” mieszkańcom. Jednym z najważniejszych aspektów smart cities jest synergia wielu elementów składających się na obraz miasta: uwarunkowań społecznych, kulturowych i administracyjnych, gospodarki, warunków mieszkaniowych, inteligentnych technologii oraz inteligentnego transportu. Powiązanie ze sobą wszystkich tych czynników umożliwia efektywny, trwały i zrównoważony rozwój danego ośrodka. Dzięki „inteligentnemu” zarządzaniu przestrzeniami publicznymi, infrastrukturą i transportem oraz świadomemu społeczeństwu Smart City umożliwia wzrost konkurencyjności miejscowości w poszanowaniu standardu życia jego mieszkańców oraz środowiska naturalnego. Artykuł stawia pytanie o metody wdrażania idei smart city, jako najbardziej efektywnego procesu transformacji współczesnych miast na przykładzie trzech miast: Wiednia, Zurychu i Krakowa.
Every single generation tends to live in more and more hectic pace. This is why cities are also going through transformation processes more rapidly. There are many challenges ahead of the cities, not only due to the number, but also because of the pace of transformation processes, such as: high rate of emigration, loss of the competitiveness of cities, degradation of urban space and environment. Undoubtedly, without any integrated programs undertaken to alleviate symptoms of the degradation of cities, neither the improvement of inhabitants’ life quality nor the valuable urban space quality may be provided. There are numerous attempts to find the ‚remedy’ for contemporary cities. While being applied in a significant number of cities in Europe, the idea of smart city seems to be in the spotlight nowadays. This tendency brings up the question of what the term ‚smart city’ stands for. A ‚smart city’ would be compared to an intelligent city -the city which uses technological progress to serve its inhabitants. The most vital aspect of smart city is synergy of six basic factors adding up to the global image of a city: social, administrative and cultural conditioning; economy, living conditions, intelligent technologies and intelligent mobility. The combination of all mentioned above elements enables effective and continued growth of a particular city. Thanks to both intelligent governance of public space, infrastructure and transportation; and high awareness of the society the smart city idea ensures not only competitive but also sustainable growth of a city. The article poses a question of what means should be utilized to implement changes to effectively make a city smart. The article presents the analysis of three cities: Vienna, Zurich and Cracow.

Opis:: Current spatial planning system is based on sectorial dvisions or administrative structure. During occurring phase of transformation of cities and regions, functionally connected groups of cities also emerge. Such cities are becoming interdependent, especially by their labor markets. Apart from the causes and form of the process, contextual approach of development conditions is becoming more significant. The new approach to management of regional development has to be accompanied by preparation of new tools for objective delimitation of problem area and identifi cation of new development trends. Such approach will enable cities to become part of modern and globally competitive economy, partially by focusing on priorities for all partners. In European and national regional policy specific expectations are being made regarding development of cities and their functional areas. Those expectations are mainly related to development impulses on regional and cross-regional levels. Despite high requirements, tools and approaches for their development are insufficient. If urban functional areas are to become development poles, they require higher level of integration and systematic implementation of strategic development procedures. The aim of integration of urban functional areas is mostly found in quality and creating proper conditions for development of new activities and functions. If those areas have to fulfi ll their role in regional structure, they have to develop towards creating new values and relations between entities, which will result in innovation and creativity.

Opis:: Urban games and other forms of field games, such as Questing, are innovative ideas for presentation, disclosure and interpretation of natural and cultural heritage. The results of the survey presented in the study show that soon urban games can become an alternative to a traditional guided sightseeing of an urban area. There may be several reasons for such a choice: an interesting way of exploring a city, aspects of play and physical activity, better memorization of information, as well as the possibility of being independent from guide’s preferences, self-activity and taking the paths other than the ones which are popular among tourists. A well-prepared urban game is a part of the particular trend in tourism based on entertainment, emotions, education and engagement (4×e). Players become active participants in the adventure directed by the organizers, however, they solve the tasks using their own ideas and variants of routes. In Poland, urban games are used mainly in cognitive and business tourism based on integration parties and team building activities. The current offer of urban games on the tourism market in our country is limited. Examples of this particular form of sightseeing have been observed mostly in the biggest Polish cities. By monitoring the availability of individual events, their constant changing and adjusting to customers’ preferences can be noticed. The growing number of urban games introduced in Poland is not followed by the increase in tourists’ awareness that it is possible to use this form of city sightseeing. The source of knowledge about urban games is mainly the information provided by other people, as well as the Internet.

Opis:: The problem of regional diversity is the subject of a broad scientific discourse. The dynamics of territory development is connected with many factors. Among them, the so-called spaces for development opportunities of individual units and resiliance issues for external factors of regions. The author discusses the diversity of individuals from the point of view of these two factors. It indicates future directions of regional research, which will show why regions at the start with potentially the same structure are developing completely differently and why in most cases resistance is associated with innovation and in the case of Polish regions it is not.

Opis:: Local resources of gminas from the region of the Świętokrzyskie Mountains are predominantly based on tradition and folk culture as well as the wealth of cultural and environmental values. The aim of this analysis was to evaluate available local resources of the region of the Świętokrzyskie Mountains, which boost creation and innovation of development of tourism. It was based on statistical data for the period of 2010–2014 obtained from the Local Data Bank of the Central Statistical Office of Poland, directory of local resources from the Catalogue of Local Resources of the region of the Świętokrzyskie Mountains. The first part presents theoretical background, introduces terminology and describes the area of the study. The second part presents results of evaluation of local resources and tourism.
Zasoby lokalne gmin regionu Gór Świętokrzyskich, oparte są w większości na tradycji i kulturze ludowej oraz bogactwie walorów przyrodniczych i kulturowych. Celem analizy była ocena stanu zasobów lokalnych regionu Gór Świętokrzyskich, których wykorzystanie pobudza procesy kreowania i innowacyjności w rozwoju turystyki. W opracowaniu wykorzystano dane statystyczne pozyskane z BDL GUS za lata 2010–2014, spis stanu zasobów lokalnych zawarty w Katalogu zasobów lokalnych regionu Gór Świętokrzyskich. W pierwszej części pracy omówiono zagadnienia teoretyczne, związane z terminologią uwzględnioną w badaniu oraz dokonano charakterystyki obszaru badań. W drugiej zaprezentowano wyniki badań oceny zasobów lokalnych i ruchu turystycznego.

Opis:: New technologies that are so penetrating into humanity's reality allow for development in practically all possible areas of life. The world of logistics is particularly interested in innovative solutions that influence m.in. Urban development and improving the lives of local communities. The Smart City concept, based on scientific advances in urban logistics, uses many tools to optimise development. Such tools are the Internet of Things (IoT), which is based on the speed of data transmission and their direct accumulation via the KNX electrical system. Short presentations will also require a 5G network to facilitate the lives of inhabitants of large agglomerations. A good understanding of the subject requires the demonstration of how the pioneers of "Smart City" (Far East, Scandinavian countries) operate. The topic of work also imposes a problem on the local market. It is also necessary to mark the need to invest in order to take full advantage of Smart City solutions.

W artykule autorzy zaprezentowali ideę inteligentnego miasta oraz korzyści i zagrożenia, jakie płyną z jej wdrożenia. Ponadto, na podstawie krytycznej analizy dokumentów oraz obserwacji autorzy dokonali oceny działań podejmowanych w Płocku i wskazali na elementy, które świadczą o jego inteligentnym zarządzaniu.
The idea of a smart city is nowadays one of the most frequently raised issues during discussions concerning city management. The aim of this article is to present key assumptions and possibilities of using a smart city concept in Polish reality based on the example of the city of Płock. The authors of this article presented the idea of an intelligent city with the benefits and risks of its implementation. Moreover, based on the critical analysis of documents and observations the authors have evaluated the actions undertaken in Płock and pointed out elements that prove the intelligent management.
