The article presents the word family of the verb grzmieć (to thunder) from the beginning of the Polish language to the 20th century. The research material includes 90 derivatives that have been characterized in terms of word formation and meaning within three values: SOUND, FORCE, and INTENSITY. The synchronic linguistics method of word-formation adapted to historical material allowed for including in the analysis words such as pogrom, zgromić, gromot which lost their formal and semantic connection with the Proto-Slavic root they were based on. The analysis proved that the semantic value of the base and its morphological features influence the development of subsequent meanings of words belonging to the word family. The meaning of intensity especially seen in words such as ogromny, ogromnie, ogromniasty is a kind of exponent of the value inherent in their root and is present in many other words derived from the same Proto-Slavic root.

The main subject of this article is the Crowded nest case in the Polish society nowadays. The crowded nest effect is defined as young adults at the age of 25 to 34 living with their parents in a family house. It should be stressed that this article is treated as an informational statement, which aim is to show causes and effects of the syndrome as well as to describe how this phenomenon will look in the future. The main purpose is to present the range, reasons and effects of the Crowded Nest in Poland in comparison to other countries in the European Union. The main aim of this article is to present the range, causes and results of Crowded Nest phenomenon in Poland, as comparison to the other countries in European Union from 2005 to 2016. The basic material this article is based upon contains data published by Eurostat.
Przedmiotem rozważań w prezentowanym artykule będzie casus gniazdownictwa we współczesnym społeczeństwie polskim. Na potrzeby niniejszego tekstu terminem gniazdownictwo przyjęto określać egzystowanie młodych dorosłych w wieku 25–34 lata wspólnie z rodzicami w domu rodzinnym. Należy zasygnalizować, iż artykuł ma charakter komunikatu informacyjnego, mającego zasygnalizować dany problem społeczny, wprowadzić w problematykę, ukazać jego przyczyny i skutki oraz dokonać projekcji możliwych scenariuszy rozwoju tego zjawiska społecznego w przyszłości. Głównym celem podjętych rozważań jest ukazanie skali zjawiska gniazdownictwa w Polsce w odniesieniu do innych krajów Unii Europejskiej na przestrzeni lat 2005–2016, jego przyczyn oraz skutków. Podstawowe źródło badawcze stanowić będą dane dotyczące tego fenomenu społecznego publikowane przez Europejski Urząd Statystyczny (Eurostat).

Obecny w twórczości Arne Næssa holistyczny obraz świata, ukazujący jego biologiczną różnorodność i niekwestionowaną wartość wszystkich żyjących bytów stał się podstawą nurtu filozofii środowiskowej znanej jako głęboka ekologia. Myśl filozoficzna Næssa po dziś dzień ma znaczący wpływ na sposób postrzegania świata, natury, człowieka i jego aktów twórczych. Przekonanie, że wszelkie życie jest ze sobą splecione na podobieństwo nordyckiego splotu znajduje swoje odzwierciedlenie także w sposobie kształtowania przez Norwegów form architektonicznych i struktur mieszkaniowych w otwartym krajobrazie. Na szczególną uwagę zasługują układy gniazdowe zabudowy farmerskiej rozpowszechnione głównie we wschodniej części kraju. Są one odzwierciedleniem jednego z najważniejszych archetypów – koła z zaakcentowanym centrum, symbolizującego według Carla Gustava Junga obraz pełni – Jaźni, której wszystkie elementy składowe pozostają ze sobą w ścisłej współzależności, równowadze i harmonii. Widoczna w idei gniazdowej formy ludzkiego siedliska myśl filozoficzna, dotykająca nurtu głębokiej ekologii, ukazuje architektoniczną twórczość człowieka w całkiem nowym świetle. Nie należy przy tym postrzegać postawy wobec natury jako romantycznej, nie jest bowiem całkiem pozbawiona utylitaryzmu. Jest to raczej postawa respektująca jej prawa, uznająca, że przyroda ma wewnętrzną wartość, nie tylko instrumentalną. W celu harmonijnego współżycia z nią należy rozpocząć pracę od podstaw: wyeliminować źródła zanieczyszczeń, ograniczyć nadmierną konsumpcję, promować życie w oparciu o proste środki, albowiem o jakości życia nie świadczy jego standard, tylko to, jak doświadcza się siebie i otaczający świat. W małych norweskich społecznościach, zamieszkujących gniazdowe struktury, wprowadzane są zatem rozwiązania ekologiczne, polegające na planowaniu i wykorzystywaniu ziemi, produkcji i konsumpcji miejscowych, zielonych produktów, edukacji ekologicznej i ekologicznym rolnictwie.
A holistic picture of the world showing its biological diversity and unquestionable value of all life forms, i.e. the picture that is present in the creative activity of Arne Næss became a foundation for an environmental philosophy concept known as deep ecology. Næss philosophy has a si gnificant impact on the way of perceiving the world, nature, man and his acts of creation. A belief that life in all its forms is mutually intertwined similarly to a Nordic weave is also reflected in the way of shaping architectural forms and residential structures by Norwegians in the open landscape. Particular attention should be focused on nest systems of farm developments which are especially popular in the eastern part of the country. They reflect one of the most important archetypes, i.e. a circle with an accentuated centre that – according to Carl Gustav Jung – symbolises the image of fullness – of Self with all its components being strictly interdependent and balanced with one another in mutual harmony. In the idea of the nest form human settlement, we can notice that a philosophical thought, which refers to the trend of deep ecology, presents architectural creative activity of man in a completely different light. The attitude towards nature cannot be perceived as romantic in this context because it is not entirely deprived of uti litaria nism. It is rather an approach that respects nature’s laws and recognises that nature has an internal value which is not only instrumental. In order to harmoniously coexist with nature, it is necessary to start from scratch: to eliminate sources of pollution, to limit excessive consumption, to promote life based on simple means because the quality of life is not proved by its standard but by the way we experience the surrounding world and ourselves. Thus, in small Norwegian communities residing in nest developments ecological solutions are introduced consisting in planning and exploiting the land, production and consumption of local green products, ecological education and ecological agriculture.

In 2020 i documented a brood of the Barn Owl Tyto alba in a tree-hole. It was in the village of Złaków Kościelny (Łowicz county, Łódź voivodeship), birds nested in the large-leaved linden Tilia platyphyllos at a height of 4 m. The breeding was successful – this pair raised 5 young. In 2021, birds returned to nesting in a box on the church tower.

The paper is a continuation of a series of publications by the author on the poetics of A. Cantemir’s satires and is devoted to the interpretation of satires through the prism of speech modes – in particular, the mode of the sermon. The sermon is considered exclusively from an artistic point of view: as a speech of the consultative type (according to Aristotle), possessing a set of its own rhetorical techniques. A successive analysis of the functions of a «sermon» in five satires makes it possible to acknowledge the long–term benefits of the interpretation of satires from the perspectives of the sermon and confession modes, along with the possibility of studying the polyphonic tone of satires.

This paper is devoted to one particular historical source: the praise of the Grand Princess of Vladimir, Maria Shvarnovna, the first wife of Vsevolod III the Big Nest. The text can be found in the Chronicle of Trinity Monastery, compiled in Moscow around 1408. The monument has not survived to our days and we have only a reconstruction of the text by Priselkov. The publication is divided into three parts. The introduction gives background information on Maria Shvarnovna and the text. Secondly, the Old-Church-Slavonic/Old Russian original edition is included. The last and the longest part of the article contains the complete Polish translation. Bible citations and all additional historical information and references can be found in the footnotes.

We studied the use of 299 nest boxes placed as the biological compensation for forest removal during construction of A4 motorway in south−east Poland. Four types of nest boxes were placed in Scots pine stands: standard box type I (n=73), standard box type II (n=80), an open box (n=73) and a box for treecreepers Certhia sp. (n=73). During the first breeding season 78% of standard boxes I and 16% of standard boxes II were occupied. Standard boxes I were used mainly by the Great Tit Parus major and Blue Tit Cyanistes careuleus. Standard boxes II were used only by the European Starling Sturnus vulgaris. Neither open boxes, nor boxes for the treecreepers were occupied by any species. In the second breeding season similar number of standard boxes type I were used by tits, while starlings occupied significantly more boxes of type II than a year before. Boxes for treecreepers as well as open ones remained unoccupied. We emphasize the need of monitoring of the effects of any compensation as it allows to adjust proper methods for different species.

Opis:
Nest boxes for dormice (Gliridae) can significantly increase the habitat’s carrying capacity for these species in areas under high anthropopressure and facilitate the long-term monitoring of populations. As part of the active protection of dormice in the Carpathian Landscape Parks in Małopolska, in August and September 2019, 575 boxes of two different sizes were checked for the presence of adults, young or nests. Additionally, habitat conditions within a 25 m radius were recorded (e.g. forest stand, estimated understory cover, the approximate number of natural shelters, fruiting plant species). The vast majority of all nest boxes – 79% – were used by dormice, but also birds and insects frequently occupied these shelters. Out of four species of dormice that occur in Poland, two were recorded in the study area: hazel dormice Muscardinus avellanarius and fat dormice Glis glis. They were found in all surveyed landscape parks and inhabited mainly fir stands. Hazel dormice preferred smaller nest boxes and were generally more common than fat dormice, which preferred large boxes. On the other hand, fat dormice were more common in areas rich in fruiting plant species. Our research thus confirmed the usefulness of artificial shelters for dormouse in active protection

Opis:
The article presents a proposal for the use of nests word formation for the diachronic research. By using derivatives from the base KOŃ, we reconstructed panchronic nest formative, so that we could get to know the dynamics of lexis. We pointed derivations of varying degrees fixation in the history of Polish - derivatives stable, lost and new, as well as we trying to define the characteristic features of the derivation of this fragment vocabulary.
W artykule przedstawiono propozycję zastosowania słowotwórstwa gniazdowego do badań o charakterze historycznojęzykowym. Wykorzystując derywaty od bazy KOŃ, zrekonstruowano panchroniczne gniazdo słowotwórcze, na podstawie którego można było orzekać o dynamice słownictwa. Wskazano wiec wyrazy pochodne o różnym stopniu utrwalenia w dziejach polszczyzny – derywaty stabilne, zaginione oraz nowe, jak również próbowano określić charakterystyczne cechy derywacji omawianego fragmentu słownictwa.

This paper presents an analysis of the usages of words from the nest (hatred) in the works by Jan Kochanowski against the semantic development of these words in Polish. Their original etymological meaning is related to seeing someone unwillingly, disliking someone. In the Old and Middle Polish periods, they were used fairly often, but the usages were different from the present ones: many of them had a less negative meaning than they do in Modern Polish. It was shaped after the 16th century, yet the beginnings of the process are assumed to go back to the century of the last Jagiellons. The author formulates a hypothesis that Jan Kochanowski, who noticed the trend in the semantics of the words from the nest , restricted their usage in his works only to the translations of the Old Testament psalms, consciously not referring them to the contemporary interpersonal relationships.

Metoda gniazd słowotwórczych znalazła swoje zastosowanie w dydaktyce języka polskiego jako obcego. Z racji analogii pomiędzy surdologopedią i glottodydaktyką należałoby zastanowić się nad możliwościami jej wykorzystania w kształceniu językowym osób z uszkodzonym słuchem. Specyfika zaburzeń językowych spowodowanych ograniczeniami percepcji słuchowej wpływa jednak znacząco na charakterystykę podejmowanych działań terapeutycznych – pozwala wyłącznie na wybiórcze korzystanie z dorobku innych dyscyplin. Artykuł zawiera omówienie możliwości zastosowania metody gniazdowej w pracy z osobami niesłyszącymi lub słabosłyszącymi wraz z przykładowymi propozycjami ćwiczeniowymi.
The derivational nests method can be applied in the didactics of Polish as a foreign language. As there are analogies between surdologopedics and glottodidactics, it would be in order to consider the possibilities of its application in the language training of hearing-impaired persons. The specificity of language disorders caused by limitations of auditory perception significantly influences, however, the characteristic features of undertaken therapeutic measures: it enables only a selective use of the achievements of other disciplines. The paper discusses the possibilities of the application of the nest method in working with deaf or hard-of-hearing persons, and presents examples of proposed exercises.

Pope Francis, writing in the post-synod exhortation Amoris Laetitia on the subject of family difficulties, saw as one of the most important tasks for the Church to accompany spouses in crises, including those who experience the phase of an empty nest (Francis 2016, 235). This stage, distinguished by E. Duvall and other psychologists as a stage in the development of family life, starts at the moment when children leave the family home and undergo the process of separation from parents and full self-empowerment. The stage of an empty nest can be a difficult challenge for the marital relationship and individual well-being of the spouses. This involves a dramatic change in the role of parents and the reorganization of married life. Couples must at this stage learn a new style of living together, sharing and cooperating and rediscover each other. Therefore, it is also a considerable challenge and mission for the pastoral care of the Church towards marriages that are experiencing this stage. Accompanying the ecclesial community, which takes place through the pastoral care of the bond, cannot omit such an important space of family life. Therefore, the article aims to characterize the empty nest phase, highlight the most important factors supporting and hindering the experience of this stage, and attempt to formulate tasks for the pastoral care of families in the context of the papal document on family love Amoris Laetitia.
Papież Franciszek, podejmując w posynodalnej adhortacji Amoris laetitia tematykę trudności rodzinnych, dostrzegł jako jedno z ważnych zadań dla Kościoła towarzyszenie małżonkom w kryzysach, w tym także przeżywającym fazę pustego gniazda (Franciszek 2016, 235). Stadium to, wyróżnione przez E. Duvall i innych psychologów jako etap rozwoju życia rodziny rozpoczyna się w chwili, kiedy dzieci opuszczają dom rodzinny i przechodzą proces separacji od rodziców oraz pełnego usamodzielniania się. Etap pustego gniazda może być trudnym wyzwaniem dla relacji małżeńskiej i indywidualnego dobrostanu małżonków. Wiąże się to z dramatyczną zmianą roli rodzicielskiej oraz przeorganizowaniem życia małżeńskiego. Pary muszą na tym etapie nauczyć się nowego stylu współprzebywania, współdziałania i współdzielenia oraz na nowo odkryć siebie. Jest to zatem także niemałym wyzwaniem i misją dla pastoralnej troski Kościoła wobec małżeństw, które przeżywają owo stadium. Towarzyszenie wspólnoty eklezjalnej, dokonujące się przez duszpasterstwo więzi, nie może pominąć tak istotnej przestrzeni życia rodzinnego. Artykuł wobec tego stawia sobie za zadanie scharakteryzowanie fazy pustego gniazda, wyróżnienie najważniejszych faktorów wspierających i utrudniających przeżywanie tego etapu oraz podjęcie próby sformułowania zadań dla duszpasterstwa rodzin w świetle papieskiego dokumentu o miłości w rodzinie Amoris laetitia.
