    W artykule przedstawiono historię badań eksploracyjnych i inwentaryzacyjnych przeprowadzonych w latach 2002–2019 w górnej sztolni dawnej kopalni rud srebra i ołowiu St. Anna w Marcinkowie. W wyniku tych badań powstała obszerna dokumentacja fotograficzna i filmowa zachowanego wyrobiska. Przebadano próbki drewna ze sztolni w celu datowania obudowy. Ostatnia inwentaryzacja sztolni w 2019 r. ujawniła postępującą degradację wyrobiska i pozostałości historycznej obudowy.
    The article presents the history of exploratory and inventory research carried out in the years 2002–2019 in the upper adit of the former silver and lead mine of St. Anna in Marcinków. As a result extensive film and photographic documentation of the preserved excavation was produced. During the research samples of wood from the adit were collected and tested in order to date the casing. The last visit in the adit in 2019 revealed the progressive degradation of the excavation and the remains of the mining housing. Due to the danger it posed the entrance of the adit was buried.

    The exploitation of mineral resources can lead to the migration of potentially harmful substances into the natural environment, resulting in environmental degradation and pollution. The mining of polymetallic ores can have severe consequences due to the release of toxic elements such as arsenic (As) and heavy metals. Among the areas contaminated with toxic elements is the village of Czarnów in the Rudawy Janowickie mountains, where mining activities related to copper, arsenic, and gold extraction were likely initiated in the Middle Ages. This study aimed to investigate the geochemical anomalies of arsenic and heavy metals in the soil and their uptake by plants in this region. Portable XRF spectrometry was used to perform geochemical soil analyses in the former mining sites. The results showed clear geochemical anomalies in the arsenic and heavy metal content of soils, with concentrations exceeding permissible standards. The highest concentrations of As were found in the mining dumps, exceeding 100 000 ppm. Phytogeochemical analyses were conducted on raspberry leaves (Rubus idaeus) to determine the content of arsenic, lead, zinc, and copper using the ICP-MS method. The findings indicated that the high levels of individual elements found may pose a risk to the environment. The study demonstrates that even abandoned mining sites can be a source of pollution, and long-term monitoring of these areas is essential to mitigate their potential environmental impact.

    Opis:
    Two new geoturistic projects based on the idea of the Sudetic Geostrada, proposed by Leszek Sawicki, are now realized in the Sudetes Mts. Project "Sudetic Geostrada - geologic-touristic guide" is carried out by the Polish Geological Institute – National Research Institute in collaboration with Czech Geological Survey within the frame of Poland-Czech Republic Cross-border Cooperation Operational Program 2007–2013. The project is aimed at creation of atractive geotouristic route, 600 km long, within cross-border areas of Poland and Czech Republic. Second project "Sudetic Geostrada - geological and landscape studies with cataloguing of inanimate nature objects" is lead by the Prof. Tadeusz Słomka and his team from University of Science and Technology in Cracow in collaboration with PGI Lower Silesian Branch. The project is focused on cataloguing and documentation of geotouristic objects and valorization of selected geostites for use in general and scientific education as well as geotourism.

    Opis:
    W artykule omówiono zmiany pierwotnego krajobrazu geologicznego obszaru polskiej części Łuku Mużakowa wywołane dawnym odkrywkowym i podziemnym górnictwem węgla brunatnego, iłów ceramicznych oraz piasków i żwirów. Dla potrzeb identyfikacji form antropogenicznych wykorzystano metody wizualizacji numerycznego lidarowego modelu rzeźby terenu, w zestawieniu z historycznymi mapami topograficznymi i planami górniczymi. Wyniki ilościowej analizy form antropogenicznych z zastosowaniem metod analizy GIS, dostarczyły informacji na temat wykształcenia współczesnego krajobrazu pogórniczego.
    Changes of the primeval geological landscape due to former lignite, ceramic clays as well as sand and gravel open-cast and underground mining, in the Polish part of Muskau Arch have been discussed in this paper. For the purposes of identification the anthropogenic forms visualisation methods of high-resolution lidar terrain model have been used, in accordance with historical topographical maps and mining plans. The results of the quantitative GIS analysis of the anthropogenic forms made in the selected area, provided information on the contemporary post-mining landscape.
