    This article is the second in a series about the state forests administration in the territory of the Gdańsk Regional Directorate of the State Forests National Forest Holding in the time of Poland’s partition. In the period under study (1868−1914), increase in the number of Forest Inspectorates and Forest Districts was observed. This growth was mainly the result of acquisition by the German government of new lands and forests and their transfer to forest administration.

    Opis:
    Cinematographic shows were held in Pomerelia several months after the invention of the Lumiere brothers had been presented for the first time in Paris. At the beginning of the 20th century such shows, originally organised as touring forms of entertainment, were very popular both in the major and smaller towns of the region. The fascination with the new medium affected the whole population irrespective of the ethnic origin of the inhabitants of the region. WW I resulted in an increased ideologisation of cinematography; the forms of state control over the content of films became stricter. In the interwar period, cinematography became an element of cultural competition between Poland and Germany. The prevalence and popularity of film along with the influx of American images influenced the morality and mentality of people living in the Pomeranian voiodeship in the interwar period.

    Opis:
    The present article is the third in a series on the administration of state−owned forests in the territory of the Regional Directorate of State Forests in Gdańsk during Poland’s partition. In the period under review, vast stretches of forests, which formerly belonged to clergy, private owners or royalty, in the majority came under the rule of the Prussian King. To manage the taken−over property efficiently, the conqueror started to build a centralised forest administration structure abolishing the administrative division in place during the Republic of Poland.

    The aim of the article is to present the role of Polish minority school in interwar period in East Prussia (a part of Germany) in the life of the local population. Sociological field research conducted in two Warmian villages (Purda and Leszno) in the years 1948, 1983, 2005–2006, and 2016 has shown that Polish minority school was and still is an important element of Warmian identity of place.

    The article presents the issue of money substitutes in Szczecin (Province of Pomerania) during the Hyperinflation in 1922–1923. It examines related legal problems and shows the position of the state authorities regarding the issue of money substitutes. In the paper, the archives of the presidium department of the Stettin Region stored in the State Archive were used.
