Celem opracowania jest opis sposobów komunikowania, wyrażania i konceptualizacji uczuć z kręgu smutku w siedemnastowiecznym tekście Anny Stanisławskiej Transakcyja albo opisanie całego życia jednej sieroty. Na tle standardów kulturowo-społecznych dawnej Polski utwór jest ewenementem, ponieważ stanowi pierwszą w piśmiennictwie polskim tak obszerną próbę świeckiego pisarstwa kobiecego. Pamiętnik utrwala wewnętrzne przeżycia kobiety głęboko doświadczonej przez zły los. Identyfikacja sposobów nominacji emocji z kręgu smutku, rekonstrukcja ich konceptualizacji oraz charakterystyka środków artystycznych wykorzystanych do oddania tego rodzaju uczuć pozwoliły sformułować kilka refleksji dotyczących autorskiej oryginalności oraz osadzenia w tradycji literackiej i pokrewieństwa z wzorami poznawczymi śródziemnomorskiego kręgu kulturowego.
The study aims to describe the ways of communicating, expressing and conceptualization feelings from the group of sadness in the 17th-century text by Anna Stanisławska Transakcyja albo opisanie całego życia jednej sieroty [Transakcyja or to describe the life of one orphan]. The work is unique in the context of the cultural and social standards of old Poland because it is the first such extensive attempt of secular women’s writing in Polish literature. The diary records the inner experiences of a woman deeply affected by a terrible fate. Ways used to nominate emotions from the group of sadness, the reconstruction of their conceptualization and the characteristics of the artistic means used to convey this feeling allowed for the formulation of several reflections on the author’s originality. They also allowed embedding the text in the literary tradition and show its kinship with the cognitive patterns of the Mediterranean cultural circle.

The subject of the article is the meaning of the dialogue and loyalty – constructive ways to resolve conflicts for increasing marital satisfaction and creating secure relationship between spouses. Article presents the results of the research which proves the relationship between the level of empath and conflict resolution strategies. Research assumes that level of empathy affects on choice of the conflict resolution strategy. Compassion helps in making constructive ways to resolve conflicts by spouses (dialogue and loyalty). Developed ability to taking spouse’s perspective and to bear personal annoyance help to choose active ways to resolve conflicts (dialogue and getaway).

Artykuł podejmuje ważną i aktualną problematykę kryzysów i odejść z kapłaństwa, których przyczyną jest niedojrzałość na poziomie ludzkim. Osobiste, nierozwiązane w seminarium problemy kandydatów do kapłaństwa ciągną się za nimi przez wiele lat, stając się źródłem ogromnego cierpienia. Zwrócenie uwagi na właściwą formację podstawową kandydatów do kapłaństwa w jej wymiarze emocjonalnym stanowi jedną z istotnych odpowiedzi na powyższe trudności. Podjęte działania będą skuteczne w życiu kapłańskim, jeśli nie zabraknie w nim także głębokiego życia duchowego, przyjacielskich relacji międzyludzkich czy nawet psychoterapii, jako narzędzia służącego osobistemu rozwojowi.
The article deals with the important and current issue of crises and departures from the priesthood, which are caused by immaturity at the human level. Personal problems of candidates for the priesthood, unresolved in the seminary, follow them for many years, becoming a source of great suffering. Paying attention to the proper basic formation of candidates for the priesthood in its emotional dimension is one of the important answers to the above difficulties. The actions taken will be effective in the priestly life, if it does not lack a deep spiritual life, friendly interpersonal relationships, or even psychotherapy as a tool for personal development.

The main aim of this paper is to show different, sometimes shocking or surprising ways of treating illnesses in women’s autobiographies, mainly from XIX century. Women’s literature of personal document here is treated as a very interesting and trustworthy source of information about illnesses, their symptoms, doctor’s more or less pertinent diagnosis. Texts, here understood as archive of examples of stories about authoresses or their friends diseases, also creates a space where connections between social, historical contexts and proprieties are well seen, what makes more visible associations between history of medicine and history of literature.
Głównym celem artykułu jest prześledzenie sposobów leczenia, diagnozowania, opisywania objawów chorób, które trapiły autobiografki, ich znajomych lub podopiecznych. Szeroko pojęta literatura dokumentu osobistego autorstwa kobiet – głównie dziewiętnastowieczna, choć przywołane zostają także wcześniejsze publikacje, zostaje potraktowana jako wiarygodny, interesujący materiał źródłowy, dzięki któremu możliwe staje się nie tylko opowiedzenie o konkretnych dolegliwościach, lecz także ukazanie powiązań dyskursu medycznego z obyczajowym, czy szerzej, kulturowym. Stąd też autobiografie kobiet, w całości lub w znacznej mierze skoncentrowane na rejestrowaniu symptomów chorobowych, jawią się jako ciekawe i efektywne poznawczo składowe zarówno historii literatury, jak i historii medycyny.

This paper offers a new Polish translation of Aristotle’s Book Delta of hisMetaphysics. It takes into account its original title and subtitle that havebeen preserved in ancient catalogues. It is argued that the title and subtitledid not concerns any “ambiguity” of expressions as it is often mistakenlyassumed, but rather the many ways of predicating (πολλαχῶςλέγεται) of various terms. Nor is it a typical lexicon of philosophicalconcepts, but rather a methodical survey of certain expressions thatbegin with physical and categorical specifications to make the terminologicaldomain of the first philosophy more precise.

The issue in the title is known and is being analyzed for a long time, however its complexity makes the setting of both – the future of it and contemporary form – emerge a lot of questions marks. I do not intend to leave most of them aside. I do make an attempt however to present its complexity and as well the importance in the reflextion upon life and activity of scholars. In these remarks I do recall several ways of presenting it and do make an attempt to stress out those of research possibilities which may lead to interesting outcomes. In the end part of the remakrs I do present some of them. I treat this step as an invitation to further discussion on the sensibility and anger of scholars.

Treść pochwał stosowanych wobec dzieci współdeterminuje ich skuteczność. Pewne sposoby chwalenia mogą być dla dzieci nie tylko nieskuteczne, ale wręcz szkodliwe. Celem badań było określenie, które sposoby chwalenia, kategoryzowane ze względu na treść, są najczęściej deklarowane przez matki małych dzieci i czy ich częstość wchodzi w relacje z wiekiem i płcią dzieci. Za pomocą autorskiego Kwestionariusza Sposobów Chwalenia przebadano 465 matek dzieci w wieku 1–7 lat. Uczestniczki badania najczęściej chwaliły efekt aktywności dzieci, następnie sposób wykonania danej czynności przez dziecko, nieco rzadziej opisywały to, co uważały za warte pochwały, formułowały pochwały zdawkowe i podkreślały znaczenie zachowania dziecka dla innych osób. Najrzadziej deklarowały stosowanie pochwał poprzez porównania dziecka z innymi dziećmi. Starsze dzieci częściej były pytane przy okazji chwalenia o to, co same sądzą o przedmiocie pochwały, częściej porównywane z innymi dziećmi i stawiane za wzór, młodsze – częściej chwalono osobowo. Płeć i wiek dzieci miały znaczenie dla stosowania pochwał niezależnych od ich zachowania.
The content of praise given to children co-determines their effectiveness. Certain ways of praising may not only be ineffective, but may even be harmful to children. The aim of the study was to determine which praise methods, categorized by content, are most often used by mothers of young children and whether their frequency is related to the age and gender of their children. 465 mothers of children aged 1–7 were examined using the Questionnaire of Ways of Praise (Kwestionariusza Sposobów Chwalenia). Participants reported most often praising the effect of children’s activity, then the way the child performed the activity. They described what they considered praiseworthy, formulated passing praise, and emphasized the importance of the child’s behavior for other people slightly less often. They rarely declared praise by comparing the child with other children. Older children were more often asked what they think when being praised, were more often compared with other children, and put as an example. Younger children were more often praised in person. The gender and age of the children were important for the use of praise regardless of the child’s behavior.

The author analyses the notion of lying, and defines a lie as a statement in disagreement with the speaker’s knowledge, spoken with the intent to be understood as the truth. The author considers various ways of lying and discusses lying in business, as well as a justification of its negative ethical evaluation due to a) self-seeking intent, and b) practical economic dysfunctionality. The evaluation is graduated with egoistic, aggressive, active, materialistic and hedonistic lies being morally the worst.

Opis:
Space of meeting with the Other, the space of interaction is also space a build identity. Thanks for the presence of the Other, it creates the identity both individual and group (J. Tischner, 1978, 2012). The Other is therefore an important fi gure in the development of another human being. So what do the other people think about the Other? How do you determine the Other? What are the trends in thinking about the Other? How do perceived the Other by future educators? This is an important question. So I decided to ask about questions my students, future teachers. Hence, the purpose of this article is to present ways of thinking about the Other, different perspectives seeing the Other by students Jan Dlugosz University in Czestochowa. This objective implies some goals: stimulating interest in problems of the Other, the idea of the tendencies of thinking about the Other, stimulating reflection on the significance of the Other for the development of a specific person, but also for the development of society, to realize their own perception of the Other.
Przestrzeń spotkania z Innym, przestrzeń interakcji jest jednocześnie przestrzenią budowania tożsamości. To dzięki obecności Innego tworzy się tożsamość, zarówno w wymiarze indywidualnym, jak i grupowym (J. Tischner, 1978, 2012). Inny jest więc ważną postacią w rozwoju drugiego człowieka. Co zatem o Innym myślą inni ludzie? Jak go określają? Jakie są tendencje w myśleniu o Innym? Jak Innego postrzegają przyszli pedagodzy? To ważne pytania. Dlatego postanowiłam o powyższe kwestie zapytać moich studentów, przyszłych pedagogów. Celem niniejszego artykułu jest zaprezentowanie sposobów myślenia o Innym, zaprezentowanie różnych perspektyw widzenia Innego przez studentów Akademii im. Jana Długosza w Częstochowie. Cel ten implikuje kolejne cele (dydaktyczne): wzbudzenie zainteresowania problematyką Innego, zorientowanie w tendencjach myślenia o Innym, wzbudzenie refl eksji na temat znaczenia Innego dla rozwoju konkretnej osoby, ale i dla rozwoju społeczeństwa, uświadomienie własnego postrzegania Innego.

Artykuł jest próbą odpowiedzi na pytania, jakie zabiegi językowe zastosowała Halina Poświatowska w swej poezji, aby opowiedzieć o stracie męża czy o wdowieństwie, jak pojęcie cierpienia (w zawężonym aspekcie) realizuje się w jej twórczości. Analizie zostały poddane teksty poetyckie, dobrane według klucza biograficznego i tematycznego. Odwołano się w niej do szeroko rozumianej koncepcji językowego obrazu świata. W podsumowaniu wymieniono podstawowe sposoby językowej interpretacji doświadczenia cierpienia po stracie męża, jakimi są: metafora, specyficzne użycie schematów składniowych, odwoływanie się do szablonów językowych i potocznych wyobrażeń przeżyć wdowy, jak i wykorzystanie rozmaitych konotacji znaczeniowych kolorów.
The article seeks to identify the linguistic means employed in Halina Poświatowska’s poetry in telling about the loss of her husband and of widowhood, and to investigate how the notion of suffering (in a narrower sense) is realized in her creation. Analized are poetic texts selected by the biographic and the topical keys. The analysis refers to a broadly understood idea of liguistic perception of the world. The article is recapitulated by the listing of essential linguistic ways to interprete suffering, such as metaphor, specific syntactic schema, reference to language patterns and to common conceptions of widow’s experience, as well as application of various connotations of colours.

Celem opracowania było przybliżenie niektórych podstawowych zagadnień dotyczących zachowawczego leczenia skolioz, w stopniu ułatwiającym racjonalne podejście do terapii oraz dobór najwłaściwszych środków. W pracy przedstawiono najpierw niektóre aspekty diagnostyki skolioz jako podstawy ich terapii, zwracając uwagę na sekwencję pojawiania się i znaczenie objawów oraz na możliwości kompensacyjne. Następnie przedstawiono ogólne zasady oraz możliwości i sposoby korygowania skolioz, a następnie dokonano przeglądu metod stosowanych w postępowaniu korekcyjnym. Szczególną uwagę zwrócono na potrzebę wyrobienia umiejętności automatycznego utrzymywania uprzednio skorygowanej postawy oraz rolę ukierunkowanych na to ćwiczeń opartych o zastępcze sprzężenie zwrotne. Na zakończenie zwrócono uwagę na potrzebę zerwania z utartymi poglądami i przyzwyczajeniami, które obecnie nie mają żadnego uzasadnienia merytorycznego i mogą przynieść więcej szkody niż pożytku.
Interest in the treatment of scoliosis has a long tradition. A lot of various treatment methods were developed – both conservative and surgical. Despite of appearances – the issue of conservative treatment of scoliosis has not been fully arranged. The aim of this study was to present some of the basic issues of the conservative treatment of scoliosis, especially for facilitating the rational approach to treatment and selection of the most appropriate therapy. Some aspects of the diagnosis of scoliosis as a basis for therapy was presented in fist part of the paper. Attention was focused on the sequence and importance of symptoms of scoliosis and possibilities of compensation. General principles and possibilities of scoliosis correction were presented and ways of this correction as well. In next section of the paper, the review of the methods used in the corrective treatment was described. Particular attention was paid to the need for acquisition of skills of automatic posture maintenance which was previously adjusted. The role of exercises based on biofeedback was described. In the last section of this paper, attention was focused on the needs of breaking with some ideas and habits which currently do not have any substantive justifiation and may do more harm than good.

The aim of this article is to contribute with findings concerning students’ ways of experiencing general mathematical structures and, in particular, relationships in additive structures.When students discern relationships in additive structures, it may lead to positive consequences for students’ future ability to perform calculations in addition and subtraction tasks. In the study, semi-structured interviews were conducted with students in grades 3, 8, and 9. An illustration showing a set of different quantities was the starting point during the interviews, together with an opening question regarding how the diverse quantities could be equalised. After the students’ discussions, they were asked if this could be described mathematically using written symbols. The students’ expressions concerning the phenomenon “relationships between quantities” were analyzed using phenomenography as an analytical tool. According to phenomenography, there are a limited number of ways in which a phenomenon can be experienced. Further, it is not about exploring how many individuals hold a specific experience that is of interest. In the case of this article, it is about capturing qualitatively different ways of experiencing the phenomenon relationships between quantities. Despite no specific numbers being presented, many students attributed specific numbers and values when expressing relationships between quantities. The students expressed general mathematical structures only to a limited extent and, in those cases, mostly only after encouragement from the interviewer. Following the phenomenographical analysis, the students’ ways of experiencing “relationships between quantities” are: as something that has to be calculated, or as something that has to be related. The first of these was most common in all grades. In this study, one critical aspect was identified, namely, that quantities are related to each other, additively. Instead of introducing mathematics with a focus on answer-oriented tasks, it is essential to introduce mathematics based on general structures such as additive structures. Even if the students are not familiar with such a mathematical “culture”, it is worth it. This was confirmed in our study.
