Opis:
The article aims to diagnose how Polish political science is internationally recognized, and how this recognition has changed during the last period of research evaluation (2017–2021). For this purpose, several quantitative indicators from the 2013–2016 and 2017–2021 evaluations were analyzed: the number of publications, place of publication, the impact of both the journal and the article. The hypotheses assume that in 2017–2021, the numerical output of Polish political science works indexed in international databases increased significantly. Still, when it comes to the impact of the Polish academy on global political science, it remains weak. The data provided in the SciVal program was used for the analysis. Articles were selected from the Scopus database, specifically from the “Politics & International Studies” collection. The results of the conducted research confirm the assumptions formulated in the hypotheses.
Celem artykułu jest diagnoza tego, jak zmieniła się międzynarodowa rozpoznawalność polskiej politologii w trakcie ostatniego okresu ewaluacji nauki (2017–2021). W tym celu przeprowadzono analizę kilku wskaźników ilościowych z ewaluacji 2013–2016 oraz 2017–2021, dotyczących liczby publikacji, miejsca publikacji, prestiżu czasopisma i wpływu artykułu. W hipotezach założono, że w latach 2017–2021 dorobek liczbowy polskiej politologii obejmujący prace indeksowane w międzynarodowych bazach danych zwiększył się znacząco, jeżeli jednak idzie o wpływ polskiej akademii na nauki o polityce w skali globalnej, pozostaje on nieznaczny, sytuując nauki o polityce na peryferiach globalnego dyskursu. Do analizy wykorzystano dane udostępniane w programie SciVal. Wybrano artykuły, które były indeksowane w bazie Scopus w kolekcji „Politics & International Studies”, opublikowane z afiliacją co najmniej jednej z 34 uczelni, które w okresie 2017–2021 ewaluowały się w dyscyplinie nauki o polityce i administracji. Wyniki przeprowadzonej analizy potwierdzają założenia sformułowane w hipotezach.

W artykule przedstawiono historię badań jakości produktów elektrycznych wytwarzanych w Polsce od początku produkcji elektrycznej. Pierwsze problemy jakości i normalizacji analizowano już na przełomie wieku XIX i XX. Prawidłowe podejście systemowe zaistniało w 1919 roku wraz z powołaniem do życia Stowarzyszenia Elektryków Polskich, organizacji aktualnie liczącej ponad 23 tys. elektryków obchodzących niebawem stulecie swojej organizacji branżowej. Po omówieniu okresu przed drugą wojną światową, omówiono szczegółowo badania i stosowane oznaczenia w okresie 1945–2004. Kolejnym omówionym okresem jest czas po wstąpieniu Polski do Unii Europejskiej i aktualnie stosowaną metodykę badań oraz oddziaływanie badań w krajach zachodniej Europy. Zamieszczono również wykaz akredytowanych laboratoriów prowadzących badania i oceny w szeroko rozumianej branży elektrycznej. Polska Izba Gospodarcza Elektrotechniki, organizacja samorządu gospodarczego zrzeszająca firmy produkcyjne, dzięki swojemu zaangażowaniu oraz we współpracy z organami państwowymi czuwa nad ciągłym podwyższaniem marki polskiego producenta w obszarze produkcji przemysłuelektrotechnicznego.
The article presents the history of research into the quality of electric products produced in Poland from the beginning of the electrical industry. The first problems concerning the quality and standardisation were analysed as early as at the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries. The appropriate systemic approach was adopted in 1919 when the Association of Polish Electricians was set up; now there are over 23,000 members in the organisation and soon it will be celebrating its 100th anniversary. After presenting the period before the Second World War, the author concentrates on research and the qualitative determination in the years 1945-2004. Another period presented in the article is the one after Poland had joined the European Union; here the reader will also find a description of the currently used research methods and their impact on the countries of Western Europe. There is also a list of the certified labs in which research and assessments are being carried out in the field of electricity. The Polish Economic Chamber of Electrical Engineering, organisation of the economic local government for production companies, thanks to its involvement and in cooperation with State’s bodies supervises the brands of the Polish producers in the field of the electrical engineering industry.

There is a prevailing conviction that Poles cannot sing. The custom of singing has died out in families, and it is even waning in music lessons in school. There is a general perception that singing skills are conditioned by the possession of special musical abilities and that not everyone can master them. This article presents the results of my diagnostic research carried out at the end of the 1980s and reprised by other scholars in recent years. Because the same research method and procedures were used in all this research, it is possible to compare the results and observe any changes in the level of singing skills over the space of around twenty years. The research signals an alarming situation in respect to such an important musical competence as singing. After the twenty years that have passed since the first research, we observe a decline in the ability to sing among children and youngsters.

Zbiorniki retencyjne są jednymi z kluczowych wyrobisk zapewniających ciągłość odstawy urobku i funkcjonowania kopalni. Pomimo tego są one stosunkowo rzadko kontrolowane. Wynika to między innymi z utrudnionego dostępu. W artykule zebrano przykłady typowych uszkodzeń zbiorników, sposobów oceny ich stanu technicznego oraz metod badawczych. Zaprezentowane metody zostały pozytywnie zweryfikowane w wielu akcjach pomiarowych prowadzonych przez specjalistów Głównego Instytutu Górnictwa.
Storage bunkers are one of the essential workings that ensure continuity of output haulage and operation of mine. Nevertheless, they are relatively rarely controlled. This is due to, among others, difficult access. The authors of the paper collected examples of typical damage of bunkers, methods of assessment of their technical condition and research methods. The presented methods have been positively verified in numerous measurement actions carried out by specialists from the Central Mining Institute.

Artykuł przedstawia problemy związane ze zmieniającą się rolą nauki i techniki w relacji do społeczeństwa. W kontekście tych zmian pojawiła się koncepcja odpowiedzialnych innowacji (responsible research and innovations – RRI). Urzeczywistnienie tej koncepcji wiąże się z koniecznością udziału społeczeństwa w procesach rozwoju i upowszechniania innowacji. Artykuł przedstawia rolę nauki i techniki w procesie realizacji RRI. Jest ona związana między innymi z koniecznością współodpowiedzialności różnych podmiotów oraz z wartościowaniem techniki (technology assessment). Zmiany odnośnie do odpowiedzialności technonauki wiążą się także ze zmianą roli wiedzy i niewiedzy w procesach współodpowiedzialności.
The article presents the problems connected with the changing role of science and technology in relation to the society. In connection with those changes the conception of “responsible research and innovations” (RRI) arises. The realization of this conception is connected with the necessity of participation of society on the processes of innovation’s development. The article presents the role of science and technology and society in the realization of RRI. It is connected with the necessity of co-responsibility of different subjects and with the technology assessment. The changes of responsibility of technoscience are connected with the role of the knowledge and the lack of knowledge in the processes of co-responsibility.

Praca omawia wyniki badań chorych na HIV/AIDS przeprowadzone w Libii pod nadzorem National Infectious Diseases Control Center w latach 2008–2009 w grupie 151 pacjentów. Obok badań diagnostycznych, charakteryzujących stan zdrowotny chorych, wykonano badania ankietowe, które pozwoliły uzyskać ocenę stanu psychosomatycznego, socjoekonomicznego oraz subiektywnego poczucia jakości życia. Odpowiednio opracowane kwestionariusze przygotowano według zasad stosowanych zgodnie z zasadami WHO. Celem nadrzędnym badań było monitorowanie i ocena realizacji strategii leczniczych wobec chorych na HIV/AIDS, a celem ogólnym - określenie potrzeb chorych w zakresie ich jakości życia. W pracy wykazano, iż (1) niższe parametry jakości życia i stanu zdrowia oraz większe nasilenie stanów chorobowych pacjentów występują w początkowym i bardzo zaawansowanym stadium choroby; (2) jakość życia pacjentów najbardziej obniża fakt postawienia diagnozy o ich zachorowaniu; (3) odczuwany stan jakości życia silnie zależy od wielu czynników, takich jak stan fizyczny, rodzinny i stosunek otoczenia do chorego; (4) oczekiwania chorego zmieniają się w czasie, przechodząc różne etapy, a stosunek do własnej choroby zależy od stopnia zaakceptowania swojego stanu zdrowia; (5) parametry fizjologiczne i sytuacja materialna nie zawsze decydują o jakości życia chorego, gdyż znaczny na nią wpływ na życie rodzinne i wspólnotowe; (6) jakość życia chorych w zaawansowanym stanie choroby jest oceniana przez nich samych często wyżej niż chorych w początkowym stadium choroby. Powodem są obronne mechanizmy psychologiczne, które odgrywają tutaj znaczną rolę, a dzięki nim chorzy potrafią odnaleźć wyższą satysfakcję ze swojego życia w porównaniu z osobami w korzystniejszej sytuacji życiowej.
The paper discusses the results of studies on the group of 151 patients with HIV/AIDS held in Libya under the supervision of the National Infectious Diseases Control Center in years 2008–2009. In addition to diagnostic tests characterizing the patients' state, health surveys were conducted to determine the assessment of patients' psychosomatic condition, socio-economic situation and subjective sense of the quality of life. Properly designed questionnaires were prepared, according to the WHO recommendations. The main goal of the study was to monitor and evaluate the implementation of the health strategy towards patients with HIV/AIDS, and the overall aim was to identify the patients' needs in terms of their quality of life. The study showed that: (1) the lower parameters of quality of life and health, and greater severity of patients' medical conditions are at the beginning and a very advanced stage of the disease; (2) the patients' quality of life is most reduced by the diagnosis of their disease; (3) the perceived status of quality of life is strongly dependent on many factors, such as physical state, the family status and relationship of the patient's environment to them; (4) the patients' needs change over time, passing various stages, and their attitude towards their disease depends on the degree of acceptance of their condition; (5) the physiological parameters and the financial situation does not always determine the quality of life of the patients, because family and community life has a significant impact on their life; (6) the quality of life of the patients in the advanced stage of the disease is assessed by themselves often higher than that of the patients in the early stages of the disease. The reasons for this are psychological defense mechanisms, which play a significant role, and so the patients can find even more life satisfaction comparing to people in a more favorable situation.

In the introduction the author presents definitions of the terms used in the article: the effectiveness of scientific work, career and a careerist in science. Next, he presents the conditions for improving the effectiveness of scientific-research activity distinguishing conditions created by the working environment and predispositions of young candidates towards learning, among which creativity is the most important. He puts particular emphasis on the simplified methods of parametric assessment of scientific units which do not only encompass the authors of studies, but mainly the rank of scientific publishing companies.

The paper presents problems of the analysis of occupational safety and health state, whose main element is hazard analysis and occupational risk assessment. The article focuses on the research methods which should not only refer to the analysis of hazard associated with the performed work (methods of data collection, methods of hazard identification, methods of risk evaluation), but also the analysis of work process (methods of work research). The publication contains an analysis of the requirements for the approach to occupational risk assessment according to the selected legal acts, Polish Standards and publications, including an analysis of the selected research methods.

The paper discusses to what extent current research meets the expectations of policies aimed at reducing inequalities in education. Initially, inequalities in education were perceived as a result of the incomplete accessibility of schools for disadvantaged social categories. It was believed that inequalities would decrease with the further reforms of education systems. However, along with the expansion of education, research showed that inequality did not decrease, but began to move to ever higher levels of the school system. It raised expectations that research results should help decision makers search for effective solutions to reduce educational inequalities. The author addresses the question of whether research has met this challenge and proposes to extend the scope of collected data to increase its usability in educational policy.

Celem niniejszego artykułu jest analiza związku oceny własnego ciała dokonanej przez osobę grającą w grę RPG z wyglądem tworzonej przez nią postaci w kreatorze tej gry. Przeprowadzono badanie eksploracyjne z zastosowaniem dwóch kwestionariuszy: Skali Oceny Ciała autorstwa Franzoi i Shields (1984) w polskiej adaptacji Lipowskiej i Lipowskiego (2013) oraz autorskiego narzędzia do Oceny Ciała Postaci. Przebadane zostały 122 osoby w wieku od 18 do 39 lat, w tym 52 kobiety i 70 mężczyzn. Wyniki badań wykazały istotne statystycznie korelacje w grupie mężczyzn w zakresie podobieństwa oceny własnego ciała do tworzonej postaci w grze RPG. Oznacza to, że im wyżej mężczyźni oceniali swoje ciało w zakresie atrakcyjności fizycznej, masy ciała i kondycji fizycznej, tym bardziej postacie tworzone przez nich w grze RPG cechowały się podobieństwem do nich. Artykuł stanowi zachętę do eksploracji zagadnienia kreatorów postaci gier RPG.
The aim of this article is to analyze the relationship between the assessment of RPG player’s own body and the appearance of the character created by the player in the wizard of this game. An exploratory study was carried out using two questionnaires: the Body-Esteem Scale by Franzoi and Shields (1984) in the Polish adaptation of Lipowska and Lipowski (2013) and the authentic Characters Body Assessment. 122 participants aged 18 to 39 were examined: 52 women and 70 men. The results of the study indicated statistically significant correlations in the male group in terms of similarity of the assessment of their bodies to the created character of the RPG game. The higher the men rated their bodies regarding physical attractiveness, body weight and physical condition, the more the characters they created in the game were similar to them. The article is an encouragement to explore the issue of game creators.

The article depicts changes in the approach to designing the residential environment which occurred in the 20th century due to the development of social studies as well as changes that should be expected nowadays as a result of the phenomenon of aging society. It touches upon basic targets that should be met by the built environment suitable for people at different ages, it also historically depicts the way in which the approach to programming housing estates has changed along with the typology of constructing flats as a result of the development of psychology, envi- ronmental sociology and ergonomics. In the contemporary approach, it has been assumed that housing estates are built especially for young people and they have been equipped with infrastructure which is indispensable for families with small children. With regard to depopulation and aging society, one should commence interdisciplinary research on the model of estates and flats that are adjusted to the needs of people at different ages, including elderly peo- ple. Due to the fact that at our disposal there are now various types of residential developments, prone in various ways to depopulation and aging of inhabitants, one should devise various conceptions for the redevelopment approach which requires that such solutions be preceded by a series of interdisciplinary researches. This article proposes making this type of research more specialized.

Opis:
Referat poświęcony jest zagadnieniom związanym z systemem oceny zgodności wyrobów przeznaczonych na potrzeby obronności i bezpieczeństwa państwa. Dokonano w nim prezentacji obowiązujących rozwiązań systemowych i funkcjonalnych obowiązujących w wojsku, których celem jest eliminowanie zagrożeń stwarzanych przez użytkowane wyroby dla życia i zdrowia żołnierzy oraz środowiska. Przedstawiono w nim także definicje stosowanych pojęć dotyczących oceny zgodności wyrobów, wyrobu, certyfikacji, dokumentacji, specyfikacji technicznej. Do napisania referatu wykorzystano obowiązujące przepisy prawa: ustawę z dnia 17 listopada 2006 r. o systemie oceny zgodności wyrobów przeznaczonych na potrzeby obronności i bezpieczeństwa państwa, rozporządzenia i decyzje Ministra Obrony Narodowej oraz wybrane normy Polskiego Komitetu Normalizacyjnego dotyczące tej problematyki.
The paper discusses the issues pertaining to the compliance assessment system for products for defence purposes. It introduces system-related and functional solutions currently in place in the armed forced, which are aimed at eliminating the risk that the use of products may pose to the life and health of the soldiers and the environment. The paper also defines the terms used in products or product compliance, certification, documentation, technical specification. The following currently applicable legal provisions have been referred to in the paper: the Act of 17 November 2006 on the Compliance Assessment System for Products for Defence Purposes, the regulations and decisions issued by the Minster of National Defence as well as the selected standards of the Polish Committee for Standardization connected with this subjects.

Opis:
Health policy as a process and as activities in the sphere of public responsibility may cause different evaluation problems but at the same time the proper and reliable assessment should be understood as the essential interest of the engaged stakeholders: government at different levels, payers, providers and patients as well. The paper concerns the problem of difficulties influencing the research focused on the health policy description aiming at the indication of the most important factors, effects, possible development dimensions that may significantly change the health system. The methodology in this case is also a complicated issue: quite often based on the instruments typical for social disciplines but not completely applicable for the presented subject. The paper describes the new innovative and universal tool for the purpose of the analysis aiming at reliable and comparable health policy assessment, it presents the stages and objectives of such evaluation and the perspectives of the HPA matrix development both for research and for didactic purposes.

Informacje przedstawione w artykule mogą pomóc naukowcom w planowaniu i skutecznym przeprowadzaniu badań w zakresie strategii stosowanych przez osoby uczące się języków, biorąc pod uwagę szereg istotnych, ukierunkowanych pytań związanych z jakością badania, metodologią oraz wyborem narzędzi i kryteriami oceny. W dziedzinie edukacji językowej może to stanowić punkt wyjścia dla szkolenia ucznia ze strategii zarówno w klasie, jak i poza nią. To z kolei może zachęcić uczniów do poszerzenia własnych preferencji dotyczących uczenia się oraz rozwinięcia i wzbogacenia zakresu stosowanych strategii uczenia się języków, a także ułatwić im przyszłą niezależną naukę języków i kontynuację procesu uczenia się przez całe życie.
The main aim of this article is to explore the question of what assessment methods researchers and teachers can employ in order to identify second/foreign language learners’ strategies for language learning and use, bearing in mind a number of vital technical or methodological considerations voiced by other researchers so far. The information presented in the article may help researchers to plan and effectively conduct language learner strategy research, taking into consideration a number of essential, targeted questions related to research quality, its methodology, as well as tools selection and evaluation criteria. Subsequently, in language education it may constitute the starting point for the process of learner strategy training in the classroom and beyond it. This, in turn, may encourage learners to stretch their individual learning preferences, develop and enrich language learning strategy repertoires, and facilitate future autonomous or self-regulated language learning, and continued lifelong learning.
