Opis:: Radek Knapp (1964-) to polsko-austriacki pisarz, który w swych utworach podejmuje kwestię zamieszkujących w Wiedniu imigrantów. Próbuje w nich dać odpowiedź na pytanie dotyczące tożsamości przybyszów i interakcji, w którą wchodzą z miejscową ludnością. W ostatniej powieści z 2020 r. Knapp prezentuje Wiedeń widziany oczyma polskiego imigranta. To środowisko, w które niełatwo wejść. Jest to jednak możliwe. Droga do tego wiedzie poprzez funkcjonowanie w wiedeńskiej codzienności, przede wszystkim przez aktywność zawodową oraz znajomość języka niemieckiego, w tym dialektu wiedeńskiego.
Radek Knapp (1964-) is a Polish-Austrian writer who addresses the issue of immigrants living in Vienna in his works. In his books, he tries to answer the question about the identity of the newcomers and the interaction they enter into with the local population. In the last novel from 2020, Knapp presents Vienna as seen through the eyes of a Polish immigrant. It is an environment that is not easy to enter. However, it is possible. The way to this leads through functioning in Viennese everyday life, primarily through professional activity and knowledge of the German language, including the Viennese dialect.

Opis:: Społeczności polskiej za granicą poświęcono liczne opracowania naukowe. Docierają one jednak do wąskiej grupy uczonych. Sposobnością do zaprezentowania tej kwestii szerszemu gronu czytelników jest twórczość literacka. W odniesieniu do Polaków w Wiedniu wyróżnia się urodzony w 1964 r. w Warszawie Radek Knapp. W wieku 12 lat wyjechał do stolicy Austrii, gdzie zamieszkiwała jego matka. Miasto to i jego mieszkańców prezentuje on, sięgając po specyficzne poczucie humoru, korzystając obficie z osobistych doświadczeń zawodowych. W popularnym odbiorze Wiedeń jawi się jako jedno z najwspanialszych miejsc na świecie. Codzienność pokazuje, że sprawy są bardziej skomplikowane. Knapp podkreśla, że pomimo wad tego miasta on je lubi i się w nim dobrze czuje. Dobrze się w nim również czują Polacy i inni imigranci.
Numerous scientific studies have been devoted to the Polish community abroad. However, they reach a small group of scientists. Literature is an opportunity to present this issue to a wider audience. When it comes to Poles in Vienna, Radek Knapp, born in 1964 in Warsaw, stands out. At the age of 12, he left for the Austrian capital, where his mother lived. He presents the city and its inhabitants by reaching for a specific sense of humour, using abundantly from personal professional experience. Vienna is commonly perceived as one of the most wonderful places in the world. Everyday life shows that things are more complicated. Knapp emphasizes that despite the shortcomings of this city, he likes it and feels good there. Poles and other immigrants also feel comfortable there.

Opis:: This article examines the connexion between literature and art based on the example of the works of the writer Radek Knapp and the artist Alfred Kubin. Radek Knapp, the Austrian writer of Polish descent, is known as an author of optimistic and funny novels. Alfred Kubin, author of the novel The Other Side, was very appreciated for his illustrations during his lifetime. Many of his drawings are clothed in dark shadow and they are in contrast to the optimistic prose by Knapp. The idea to illustrate the 41 prints by Alfred Kubin with words was born in the Leopold Museum in Vienna. The short story by Radek Knapp, Die Stunde der Geburt / The Hour of Birth (2017) is, on the one hand, an artistic dialogue between writer and painter, and on the other, it becomes an universal story about searching for the meaning in life.
Das Anliegen dieses Beitrags besteht darin, das Verhältnis zwischen Literatur und Malerei am Beispiel von den Werken Radek Knapp und Alfred Kubin zu untersuchen. Die Romane und Erzählungen von Radek Knapp, dem österreichischen Schriftsteller polnischer Herkunft, zeichnen sich durch Witz, Pfiff und Humor aus. Alfred Kubin, Graphiker und Autor des Romans Die andere Seite, wurde zu seinen Lebzeiten vor allem für seine Buchillustrationen geschätzt. Viele Bilder von Kubin sind von der Dunkelheit verhüllt, was im starken Kontrast zu dem heiteren Ton der Prosa von Radek Knapp steht. Die Idee, die einundvierzig Graphiken von Kubin mit dem Text zu illustrieren, war die Voraussetzung für die Sonderausstellung in Wiener Leopold Museum. Die Erzählung von Radek Knapp Die Stunde der Geburt / The Hour of Birth (2017) ist nicht nur der Katalog zur erwähnten Ausstellung, sondern auch der künstlerische Dialog zwischen dem Schriftsteller und dem Zeichner sowie auch eine universelle Geschichte von der Suche nach dem Sinn des Lebens.
Przedmiotem artykułu jest wzajemna relacja literatury i malarstwa poddana analizie na przykładzie twórczości Radka Knappa i Alfreda Kubina. Radek Knapp, austriacki pisarz polskiego pochodzenia, zasłynął jako autor tryskających humorem powieści i opowiadań. Alfred Kubin, autor powieści Die andere Seite (Po tamtej stronie), za życia ceniony był przede wszystkim za swoją pracę ilustratorską. Wiele rysunków Kubina spowija mroczna aura, która żywo kontrastuje z pogodnym tonem prozy Knappa. Idea zilustrowania słowem czterdziestu jeden grafik Kubina przyświecała twórcom wystawy w wiedeńskim Leopold Museum. Opowiadanie Radka Knappa Die Stunde der Geburt / The Hour of Birth (2017) jest nie tylko katalogiem wspomnianej wystawy, ale i artystycznym dialogiem pisarza z rysownikiem oraz uniwersalną opowieścią o poszukiwaniu sensu życia.
