    The two main streams of Reformation in the XVI century, although differentiated in many aspects, had one common point of reference. That particular ground, where the common goals took over the historically conditioned difference of interests, was based on the most important reformation catechisms – the Lutheran and Heidelberg catechisms. Created in 1528-29, Luther’s catechisms played a vital role not only in church and domestic teaching processes, but also in creating the basis for the doctrine of a new church organisation and in shaping the principles of social life. The important innovation of the Lutheran perspective in his catechism is presenting the Decalogue in material connection with its subsequent parts: Credo and Our Father. The logic behind that order reflects the message in Lutheran teachings of justification and forms the practice of Lutheran prayer life. The Heidelberg Catechism, commissioned by Frederick III, sovereign of the Electoral Palatinate in 1563 A.D. was also a work supporting the introduction of a new, evangelical-reformed church order in the Palatinate. The authors and the Prince were not only motivated by their concern about Christian upbringing of the young people, but also by the need to introduce changes to education, administration, army and the Church.

    Artykuł jest próbą określenia okoliczności powstania i ewentualnych źródeł katechizmu zamieszczonego w składzie Psalmów Dawidowych (Gdańsk 1616) – Katechizmu Heidelberskiego, zwanego również Katechizmem Palatynatu, wydanego w 1563 roku. Redaktorzy polscy w trakcie pracy translatorskiej korzystali z linii tzw. psałterzy heidelberskich (Heidelberg 1567, 1573, 1575; Neustadt 1584; Herborn 1595, 1598, 1609; Amberg 1604; Düsseldorf 1612), które zawierały niemieckojęzyczną wersję Psałterza genewskiego autorstwa tłumacza i wykładowcy prawa na Uniwersytecie w Królewcu Ambrosiusza Lobwassera (Lipsk 1573) oraz połączony ze skróconą Ordynacją kościelną dla Palatynatu i wyborem modlitw Katechizm Heidelberski. Inicjatywa przekładu katechizmu należała do przedstawicieli Jednoty Braci Czeskich, którzy nie wiedzieli o już istniejącym i używanym w praktyce szkolnej polskim tłumaczeniu (Wilno 1605). Świadczy to o tym, że przedstawiciele różnych odłamów reformacyjnych w Rzeczypospolitej nie zawsze byli dobrze obeznani ze wzajemnym dorobkiem wydawniczym. Polecany przez ustawodawstwo synodalne Katechizm Heidelberski staje się z czasem podstawą nauczania w Rzeczypospolitej zarówno w jednotach reformowanych, jak i u braci czeskich.
    This article attempts to reconstruct the circumstances surrounding the origination and the possible sources of the catechism included in the edition of David’s Psalms (Danzig 1616), i.e., the so-called Heidelberg Catechism, also known as the Palatinate catechism, published in 1563. During the translation work, Polish editors made an extensive use of the series of other the so-called Heidelberg Psalters (Heidelberg 1567, 1573, 1575; Neustadt 1584; Herborn 1595, 1598, 1609; Amberg 1604 and Düsseldorf 1612) that included the German language version of the Geneva psalter authored by the translator and the law reader at the University of Königsberg Ambrosius Lobwasser (Leipzig 1573) combined with the abridged Church regulations for the Palatinate and a selection of prayers called the Heidelberg Catechism. The idea of the translation of the catechism was initiated by members of the Unity of the Brethren (Bohemian Brethren) who, at the time, were not aware of the already existing and widely used in practice Polish translation of the catechism (Vilna 1605). The above testifies to the fact that the representatives (members) of different factions and splinter groups of the Reformation groups in the Republic of Poland were not always well acquainted with the publishing output of their respective publishing endeavours. The Heidelberg Catechism, recommended by the synodal legislation, becomes in time the most fundamental publication for teaching in the Republic of Poland for both reformed unities and Bohemian brethren.

    W obliczu rosnącej presji społeczności międzynarodowej, zmierzającej do podjęcia radykalnych kroków w celu przeciwdziałania zmianom klimatu oraz zmniejszenia antropopresji środowiska, nie milknie dyskusja dotycząca zasadności założeń mówiących, że to człowiek jest głównym sprawcą owych zmian. Oficjalne stanowisko co do decydującej roli człowieka, przyjęte przez międzynarodowe instytucje zajmujące się wpływem ludzkiej działalności na klimat, jest coraz częściej kwestionowane. Czy za zmiany klimatu odpowiada człowiek? Czy nasza cywilizacja zobowiązana jest do poświęceń w celu ochrony klimatu? Wynik konfrontacji zwolenników i sceptyków tezy o antropogennych przyczynach zmian klimatu jest szczególnie istotny w kontekście niepowodzenia szczytu klimatycznego w Kopenhadze oraz dalszej drogi społeczności międzynarodowej w walce ze zmianami klimatycznymi.
    In the face of growing pressure from a global society wishing to take radical steps in order to deal with climate change and reduce environmental anthropopressure, the discussion regarding the legitimacy of the thesis that the main offende of those changes is the human-being does not moderate. The official statement indicating the crucial role that human beings are playing in climate change, taken for granted by international institutions dealing with the human impact on the climate, is increasingly questioned. Are human beings responsible for climate change? Is our civilization obliged to sacrifice in the name of climate protection? The result of the confrontation between supporters and sceptics of the thesis concerning the anthropogenic causes of climate change are important in the context of the COP15 summit failure in Copenhagen and the future struggle by global society against climate change.
