ETHICS IN ORGANIZATION
Opis:: Artykuł prezentuje podstawowe metody wprowadzania oczekiwanych standardów etycznych w organizacji. Najczęściej stosowaną metodą jest przyjęcie kodeksu etycznego. Jest to rozwiązanie proste, niemniej jego skuteczność zależy od takich czynników, jak: przygotowanie kompleksowego programu etycznego, analiza stanu wyjściowego, adekwatna formuła kodeksu czy partycypacja pracowników w jego przygotowaniu. Pierwsza część artykułu to ogólna refleksja dotycząca prób wpisania wrażliwości etycznej pracownika w instytucjonalne ramy działania organizacji. W drugiej części zostały sprecyzowane i poddane krytycznej analizie warunki, przy spełnieniu których kodeks etyczny ma szansę stać się skutecznym narzędziem promowania wysokich standardów etycznych.
The paper presents basic methods for introducing ethical standards that are expected of an organization. The most commonly used method is the approval of a code of ethics. The first part of the paper includes general reflections on attempts to fit the ethical sensibilities of employee into the institutionalized framework of the organization. The second part defines and conducts a critical analysis of conditions under which a code of ethics can become an effective tool for the promotion of high ethical standards.

Opis:: Self-regulation initiatives are undertaken by many lobbing circles in various countries. The key element of those initiatives are codes of ethics including a postulated model of lobbying activities, a specific pattern of ethical standards of lobbying. The aim of the article is a reconstruction of this pattern on the basis of the analysis of eight codes representing American, Polish, British, European and German lobbying. The analysis leads to the following conclusions. An axiological base of the lobbyist profession is created by such values as honesty, reliability, integrity, trust, professionalism, civil responsibility, openness, transparency, loyalty, respect, courtesy. Norms included in the codes are concentrated on the following issues: legality, transparency of actions, care of reputation and dignity of profession, avoiding corruption, conflict o f interest, customer relationship, duties toward society, public relations. A weak element of lobbying self-regulation is a system of norm execution.

Opis:: The main point of the article is to analyze the ethical assumptions of the Codex of Food Ethics and to answer the question of whether the formalization of morality related to food is possible at all. The analyzed Codex was created in October 2013, with the participation of experts from various communities. The value that was indicated and considered to be accepted by all acceding to its use is the “good of the consumer,” although it was not clearly defined in the content of the Code. The Code does draw attention to safety, quality, trust, control, and respect of the law, however. These issues were discussed in the article. Unfortunately, due to the lack of information about the further fate of the Code, it is difficult to answer the question whether it has a chance to for practical application in the form proposed by its creators.

Opis:: Professional ethics of teachers is one of the most important areas of interest of pedeutology. Not only traditions of that profession, but also the contemporary challenges facing it seem to be indicative of it. In the considerations presented, professional ethics of teachers is shown from two perspectives, i.e. the universal and the pluralistic ones. Each of these perspectives is characterized by diverse understanding of professional ethics of teachers and, in particular, its nature. Generally speaking, the first of these perspectives can come down to the establishment of professional ethics of teachers in the form of a code, while the other moves away from such a strictly code-orientated perception of ethics. Certainly, this does not mean a rejection of any ethical stipulations characteristic of teacher circles, but rather adopting a position according to which such exclusive and only correct stipulations do not exist, but there are a lot of them, which one should bear in mind characterizing the ethical aspects of the teaching profession.

Opis:: Nowelizacja Kodeksu Etyczno-Zawodowego Psychologa zakończyła się powołaniem do życia nowego Kodeksu Etycznego Psychologa Polskiego Towarzystwa Psychologicznego przyjętego decyzją Walnego Zgromadzenia Delegatów PTP w grudniu 2018 roku. Nowy kodeks jest wynikiem kilkuletniej współpracy między powołanym do tego celu zespołem, a środowiskiem polskich psychologów. Prace nad projektem obejmowały między innymi solidne ugruntowanie formalne nowego kodeksu w przestrzeni już istniejących, podobnych aktów normatywnych, obowiązujących w Europie i na świecie. Założenia i podstawy projektu zakładały również osadzenie naczelnych wartości proponowanych w kodeksie na Powszechnej Deklaracji Praw Człowieka. Przyjęto trójstopniową, hierarchiczną strukturę aktu, czemu przyświecała idea otwartości nowego kodeksu na możliwe zmiany, dyskusje i kolejne nowelizacje.
The amendment to the Polish Code of Ethical and Professional Conduct in Psychology has resulted in the creation of a new Code of Ethics for the Psychologist of the Polish Psychological Society (PTP) adopted by the decision of the General Assembly of PTP Delegates in December 2018. The new code is the result of several years of cooperation between the team established for this purpose only and the environment of Polish psychologists.bWorking on the project included, among others, a formal consolidation of the new code within the space of already existing, similar normative acts in force in the European and international context. The assumptions and foundations of the project also assumed setting the main values proposed in the code on the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. A three-stage, hierarchical structure of the act has been introduced, which was guided by the idea of the openness of the new code to possible changes, discussions and subsequent amendments.

Opis:: Suppliers are important links in the value chain of modern enterprises. The rapid changes that are happening on the market now were an impulse for the development of concepts that help to manage such a complex environment. The concept of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) may support the development of sustainable supply chains. The management of social issues in supply chains is becoming more and more important. The main reasons for that is the increasing risk of undesirable situations in supply chains that can cause real problems for business. One of possible responds of business is the implementation of code of conduct or code of ethics addressed to suppliers. This paper presents the potential role of codes of ethics and codes of conduct as tools that support the management of social and environmental issues of supply chain. Theoretical considerations will be supported by a qualitative analysis of codes of ethics and codes of conduct published by socially responsible companies from Poland (on the basis on IX Ranking Odpowiedzialnych Firm).

Opis:: Etyka w zawodzie księgowego odgrywa ogromną rolę, ponieważ jakość sprawozdań finansowych jest bezsprzecznie związana z etyką osób je sporządzających. Od księgowych oczekuje się profesjonalizmu, dokładania staranności, stosowania się do wszystkich zasad wynikających z regulacji prawnych i postępowania etycznego w ramach ich podstawowych obowiązków zawodowych. Standardy rachunkowości, nie zapewniają w stu procentach dobrej jakości sprawozdań finansowych, jeżeli osoby odpowiadające za ich sporządzenie nie będą postępowały zgodnie z zasadami rachunkowości i etyką zawodu księgowego. Celem artykułu jest przedstawienie istoty i znaczenia etyki zawodu księgowego w kontekście jej wpływu na kształtowanie obrazu sytuacji finansowej przedsiębiorstwa. W artykule wykorzystano analizę i krytyczną ocenę literatury oraz obowiązujących aktów prawnych.
Ethics in the accounting profession is of great importance because the quality of financial statements is unquestionably related to the ethics of them preparers. From accountants are expected to professionalism of adding diligence to comply with all the rules resulting from the regulations and ethics as part of their basic professional duties. Accounting standards do not provide one hundred percent good quality financial statements, if a person responsible for their preparation will not act in accordance with the accounting principles and ethics of the accounting profession. The purpose of article is to present the essence and importance of ethics of the accounting profession in the context of its influence on the financial position of the company. The article uses the analysis and critical evaluation of literature and existing legislation.

Opis:: The aim of this article is to present and analyze the legal problems and ethical dilemmas of researchers studying difficult ways of life. There are a lot of questions about the ethical, acceptable and legal ways of research and in relation to the participants of the research. The practical aim of this article is to answerthe question what we should do when we face different ethical dilemmas in our studies. A special difficult situation occurs to the researcher – pedagogue of social rehabilitation, because by conducting research on the phenomena of social exclusion or social pathology they describe and analyze situations related to crime, para-criminal behaviors, addictions, and provide profound diagnosis of disorders or therapy. During scientific research, the scholar penetrates the difficult situations, faces ethical dilemmas and encounters legal problems. Legal awareness and ethical responsibility are the guarantees of the pedagogue’s safety but above all the safety of the respondents. Although the article is not a complete and comprehensive study, it responds to the needs of researchers who themselves have to answer many questions about legal issues and solve many ethical dilemmas in the process of collecting and developing data.

Opis:: W grudniu 2018 r. Walne Zgromadzenie Delegatów PTP przyjęło Kodeks Etyczny Psychologa Polskiego Towarzystwa Psychologicznego a także zaakceptowało koncepcję trójstopniowego systemu regulacji etycznych. Propozycja poparta była konsultacjami środowiskowymi oraz eksperckimi. Poziom (stopień) pierwszy stanowi nowo przyjęty Kodeks, przedstawiający ogólne zasady etyczne oraz prawa odbiorców, a także prawa psychologów. Regulacje z tego poziomu odnoszą się do wszystkich przedstawicieli zawodu niezależnie od szczegółowych obszarów realizacji obowiązków zawodowych, ponieważ opierają się na kluczowych dla każdego psychologa wartościach. Obecnie podejmowane są prace nad tworzeniem regulacji etycznych z poziomu (stopnia) drugiego, a więc poszczególnych działań psychologicznych. Poziom (stopień) trzeci stanowić będą szczegółowe standardy pracy psychologów.
: In December 2018, the General Assembly of PTP Delegates has accepted the new Code of Ethics of the Psychologists of the Polish Psychological Society and accepted the concept of a three-level system of ethical regulation. The proposal was supported by environmental and expert consultations. The first level is the newly adopted Code, presenting general ethical principles and the rights of clients, as well as the rights of psychologists. Regulations from this level relate to all professionals regardless of the specific areas of the professional performance, due to the fact they are all based on key values for each psychologist. Currently, work is underway to create ethical regulations from the second level, and hence individual psychological activities. The third level will include the detailed standards of psychologists’ work.

Opis:: Code of ethics defines the main values and principles that regulate the activities of different types of organizations in the advertising industry. There are few organizations involved in raising ethical standards in Poland and forming the rules of ethical standards in Polish advertising. Anyhow the author will focus on the example of the Advertising Ethics Code, promoted by the Union of Associations Advertising Council. While analyzing the Code, it is not difficult to notice that it largely reproduce the contents of the legal regulations. That is why author will try to answer the following questions: Are the regulations contained in the Code value added for interpretation of the law and whether the formulation of ethical standards in Polish advertising is justified?
Kodeksy etyki określają koronne wartości i zasady, które regulują działalność różnych organizacji z branży reklamowej. Jest kilka organizacji zaangażowanych w podnoszenie standardów etycznych w Polsce, tworzących m.in. zasady norm etycznych w polskiej reklamie, ale autorka skoncentruje się na przykładzie Kodeksu Etyki Reklamy, promowanego przez Związek Stowarzyszeń Rada Reklamy. Analizując sformułowania zawarte w tym kodeksie, nietrudno zauważyć, że stanowią one w dużej mierze powtórzenie treści ustaw, dlatego autorka postara się odpowiedzieć na następujące pytania: Czy regulacje prawne zawarte w kodeksie stanowią dodatkową wartość w interpretacji przepisów prawa i czy formułowanie norm etycznych w polskiej reklamie ma, prócz wartości wizerunkowej, uzasadnienie?

Opis:: The paper attempts to analyse the ethical duties of engineers contained in selected engineering codes of ethics and indicates a few problems arising in teaching professional engineering ethics in technical studies. The codes of ethics under analysis, both Polish and foreign (American), show similarities and differences. The author indicates the likely causes of these similarities and differences and suggests the need for further research on the development of ethical standards as well as their implementation, application and enforcement. The author discusses teaching ethics based on his own experience and compares a few American textbooks used for engineering ethics teaching. The author indicates a lack of necessary teaching materials in Polish and the existence of no Polish forum for discussing ethical problems of engineering in Poland both in the areas of teaching and research.

Opis:: W artykule omawiam problemy etyczne, które dotyczą uczciwości, wykorzystywania badanych oraz ochrony poufności, prywatności i anonimowości, w kontekście naukowych badań na zlecenie. Ich analiza wydaje mi się istotna zarówno ze względu na rosnące znaczenie badań kontraktowych, jak i niewielkie zainteresowanie tym zagadnieniem w literaturze przedmiotu z nauk społecznych i humanistycznych. Odwołuję się do własnych doświadczeń prowadzenia badań jakościowych na zlecenie (głównie wywiadów częściowo ustrukturyzowanych i obserwacji) w pięciu naukowych projektach badawczych zrealizowanych w latach 2012–2015. Ze względu na charakter wymienionych badań oraz zastosowane w nich metody badawcze w analizie problemów etycznych sięgam do wybranych kodeksów etyki socjologa oraz antropologa.
In this article I discuss ethical issues related to the integrity, exploitation of informants, the protection of confidentiality, privacy and anonymity in the context of contract research. It seems to me that the analysis of these issues is important, both because of the growing significance of contract research and the fact that these issues have attracted little interest in the humanities and social sciences literature. I draw on my own experience of conducting qualitative research (mainly semi-structured interviews and observations) in five research projects carried out between 2012 and 2015. Due to the nature of these projects my analysis of ethical problems refers to selected codes of ethics both sociological and anthropological.

Opis:: Helping professions, professions of public trust are undoubtedly a unique and complex issue due to the importance of the needs and interests of another person – client, beneficiary, pupil or patient – that they fulfill. It seems that a great responsibility is connected with taking some kind of care of – and providing assistance to – an individual who is weaker and thus exposed to far-reaching consequences in the form of double social exclusion in case of improper assistance efforts. The presented article is part of the ongoing, socially important interdisciplinary discussion about the deontology of professional help. The presented analysis of selected codes of ethics provides knowledge about the common features or axiological basics in helping professions, and as a consequence points to the ethical and moral obligations that link the people of public trust in their daily activities.
Helping professions, zawody zaufania publicznego to niewątpliwie materia wyjątkowa i skomplikowana ze względu na doniosłość realizowanych potrzeb i interesów drugiego człowieka – klienta, beneficjenta, ucznia, pacjenta. Wydaje się, iż z ogromną odpowiedzialnością wiąże się objęcie pewnego rodzaju opieką i pomocą podmiotu, który jest słabszy i tym samym narażony na daleko idące konsekwencje w postaci podwójnego wykluczenia społecznego w przypadku podjęcia niewłaściwych działań pomocowych. Prezentowany artykuł wpisuje się w aktualną, społecznie ważną interdyscyplinarną dyskusję o deontologii profesjonalnego pomagania. Przedstawiona analiza wybranych kodeksów etycznych dostarcza wiedzy na temat wspólnych cech czy też podstaw aksjologicznych w zawodach pomocowych, a w konsekwencji wskazuje na obowiązki etyczno-moralne łączące osoby zaufania publicznego w ich codziennych działaniach.
