Opis:
social life is an unquestionable fact, although from a sociological point of view, it is a universal phenomenon. The sources pertaining to its genesis are various. Plato spoke of the organic entity of social life. Aristotle dis-cussed human needs in the social development of man. Jean-Jacques Rousseau referred to the convention hypothesis. Baruch Spinoza considered collective human actions as an expression of the general will of the Absolute. Christian philosophy sees social life as a natural and primary condition of the human being. In view of that, from the perspective of Christian personalistic philosophy, man makes up a part of the universum, living in the specified environment to which he is related in various ways. Through his psychophysical structure, man is out of his nature directed towards social life and consequently, he seeks contact with the other persons in the society. Therefore, Karol Wojtyła emphasizes the indispensability of social life in terms of material and biological needs of the human being and the intersubjective experiences by sharing thoughts, values and moral relations.

The effect of rejecting the correspondence concept of truth, adopted in classical metaphysics, is the crisis of modern culture, which is ultimately the crisis of man himself. An important element of it is the belief in the gap between faith and reason. John Paul II claims that stopping this crisis can only happen through the spiritual revival of man, whose condition and foundation is the rediscovery of the universal truth about himself and his ultimate destiny. The Pope is convinced that in the context of contemporary liberal and technical-consumer cultural trends, only thanks to objective truth can a man preserve his identity and the unity of his culture.

Opis:
This article is a trial of understanding the process of moral eorruption of young people in the context of their feeling of social alienation. It is underlined that the term of moral eorruption is a legal term with a pejorative tinge that has no psychological designatum. This article presents a conception of M. Seeman alienation with an emphasis on five categories distinguished by the author: self estrangement, powerlessness, social isolation, meaninglessness and formlessness. On the base of Seemana’s theory, K. Kmiecik-Baran has constructed the Scale of Feeling and Integration which she has enriched Seemans categories with their opposing dimensions: self-estrangement authonomy, powerlessness self reliance, social isolation social integration, meaninglessness sense, normlessness social order. This article gets closer the theoretical foundations of scale and it contains a description of causes and consequences of alienation from the developmental perspective. The destructive ways of managing the alienation described in the article such as drinking alcohol, taking intoxicant, rebellion against the social norms, creating or belonging to groups of destructive nature are behaviours, which according to law, (the Act of juvenile processes) are the evidence of moral corruption. This is the recommendation to use the model of Alienation and Integration to describe and understand the process of moral corruption

Opis:
The work is a critical analysis of writings of theoreticians dealing with alienation theory from the late eighteenth to the twentieth century. While in Karl Marx’s theory the focus is on alienation of a man from the product of his work and work itself, other forms of the concept play an important role in fields like history, sociology, philosophy and psychology. Before Marx, the idea appeared in the writings of Rousseau, where it was understood as a result of human distance from nature. Hegel interpreted it as a sort of alienated reality that only man can assimilate. Feuerbach, on the other hand, believed that man alienates from a part of himself by creating the idea of God. Fromm and the Frankfurt School drew from Marx’s writings, but for them the alienation was more about the mental sphere and it meant the alienation of the man from himself.

Opis:
The article relates a research performed on a group of 50 boys and 50 girls, 15–18 years of age, socially unit and staying in reformatories, and on a reference group of other 50 boys and 50 girls who do not display any traces of being socially unfit, measured using the Alienation Feeling Scale (AFS), developed by Kmiecik-Baran. The main objective of the research was to determine differences in feeling alienated between the examined and reference groups, as well as differences in regard of their sex. He differences in average alienation rates bettween the groups show a similarity of feeling alien and being unfit, which is proved by substantial differences between the fit and unfit boys in all AFS categories exept anomia. Lesser differences of the said categories have been observed between the fit and the unfit girls. The unfit girls feel more isolated while their fit peers show a higher sense of meaninglessness of life. Substantial differences can be observed in regard of the sex of the groups being examined, suggesting that the boys are more sensitive to both favorable and unfavorable conditions, which consequently increases their alienation level. This particular sucseptibility of the boys makes their being socially unfit a phenomenon of a slightly different nature than that of the girls.

In the adumbration titled Outsiders looking for the meaning of life, the author shall present several groups of selected characters portrayed in the prose by Andrzej Stasiuk. Among the discussed groups one finds prisoners described in Mury Hebronu, wanderers accounted for in Biały Kruk and Taksim, femme fatales portrayed in the storybook titled Przez rzekę, as well as tragic heroes illustrated in the novel Dziewięć. All these characters might be said to stay in some kind of relationship because they share the overwhelming feeling of alienation – either by choice or due to the rejection from the society – and they all struggle to find any deep meaning in human life in the senseless surrounding world, but – unfortunately – the fail. The feeling of loneliness, alienation and the existential fear are the features which might be used to portray all the characters of the aforementioned prose.

In my paper I undertake the issue of alienation, that appears at the same sources of modern thought and develops according to the growing consciousness of its conditions and consequences. The first articulation of the phenomenon of alienation we can find in the works of Jean Jacques Rousseau, but its conceptual expression was formulated in the philosophy of Georg Wilhelm Friedrich Hegel. The progress of discourse of alienation in the analyses of Ludwig Feuerbach, Karl Marx and the members of Frankfurt School reveals its essence that depends on the elimination of the personal status of individual. The attempts of overcoming the phenomenon of alienation undertaken by mentioned thinkers leaves the problem unresolved, because of the distinctive feature of all these attempts is mediation the conceptions of human being in limited perspective (concerning individual as mere exemplar of species or as a passive result of an external conditions).

Opis:
The article reflects on the diagnosis the levels of a sense of alienation in the context of voting behavior in elections to parliament in 2011. Social functioning, mental condition and the perception of the political scene are important primarily in the plane of the possibility of mobilization of individual electorates. It can be assumed that those who feel a sense of impact on the socio-political environment, recognizing the link between the actions taken by them and their effects are more likely to take part in elections. It is difficult to determine in which direction will influence the level of a sense of political alienation, as dissatisfaction with the current political scene, lack of trust in political leaders, the lack of any effect on its shape can result in one hand and the consequent withdrawal of political passivity, on the other – raise motivation to change the status quo through activity and voting for another party. A sense of an external anchor, the integration of values and other people may also be affected in two ways – firstly to provide the individual a sense of strength, support, and identification with a group of committed and interested in the election could translate into a significant mobilizing force, on the other, being in a safe place among the cherished values and loved ones can focus enough attention to the individual, that active participation of socio-political recedes into the background. The author`s research tool was used in the study – the Scale of Alienation ”Z”. It consists of measurements of three factors: a sense of powerlessness-power, a sense of political alienation-self-significant, sense of isolation-integration.

The article interprets Leśmian’s poetic figure of home. It indicates emptiness, the sense of mourning after losing oneself, but paradoxically it also denotes renewal of life energy and the source of vitality. Here the lexical items such as “strangeness”, “alienation” and “emptiness” interact to form the fundamental concept of home. The author investigates the tensions between the contradictory states of existential uncertainty and the desire to be “at home” and to belong somewhere. Finally, Leśmian’s works illustrate the conviction that in this destabilized world it is through relating to others that we find stability, if only temporarily.

Opis:
The election campaigns in Poland have become oriented to the still more extent on fighting back the political opponents. Only seldom we can watch skirmishes about programmes and battles with the use of substantial arguments. Instead, we observe more and more mutual accusations, personal reproaches and attempts of slandering the opponent using unethical methods. The attitude of one politician to another assumed quite special features both on the level of verbal behaviour and their attitudes. Almost in every election campaign since the year 1989 the voters have had the occasions to observe the behaviours of politicians which were far from the moral standards and which significantly lowered the level of political culture in Poland. Since a few years rival discreditations, intrigues, announcing untrue information about opponents and creation of media facts have dominated during the election battles. Occurrences of such type are crucial for political alienation among the citizens and contribute to preservation of a negative picture of the politics itself as a sort of dishonest and immoral activity. Various methods of depreciation of opponents are still more and more willingly used. This paper will discuss selected behaviours of political competitors towards each other; also an attempt will be undertaken to assess those behaviours from the ethics’ point of view.

Opis:
In the paper, author would like to describe conceptions of the subject in Lacanian psychoanalysis. It is not only question of existence of unconscious and its influence on the conscious ego, but also problem of linguistic dimension of the unconscious. In Lacanian psychoanalysis, unconsious is structured like a language, nevertheless language/Symbolic is limited. We can’t say everything, there is always something outside the Symbolic. It is, of course, famous Lacanian Real – core of our being. Author presents not only Lacan’s view on subject, but also evolution of this topic and questions concerning subjectivity beyond alienation in Symbolic.

The author focuses exclusively on the negative phenomena, such as social heterogenization, loss of identity, and the disintegration of social ties. In his work he uses achievements of the most outstanding Polish sociologists; Jerzy Szacki and Jan Szmyd. The article describes change of the role and place of man in new built, large urban areas. He also refers to one of the most important sociological schools, the so-called Chicago School, and the concept of territorial community duality created by the most prominent representative of this school, Robert Park. The article concludes with an analysis of the impact of globalization and modernity on the social condition of the individual.

The article deals with the problem of boredom in education. The main purpose is to capture logic of misunderstandings between sides of learning processes. The article is organized by following questions: 1) How teachers comprehend phenomenon of boredom in their classroom? 2) Who should be blamed for boredom in education: teachers or pupils? 3) If boredom could have developmental potential? Answering the first question the writer accords with phenomenographical qualitative research procedure of examination meanings of school experiences imparted by pupils and their teachers. Boredom is one of keywords defining meaning of school and one of important issue which causes misunderstandings between pupils and teachers. The second question includes discussion on differentiation between causes of boredom during school-time and pupils' free-time associated with psychological and sociological models of boredom. Psychological model of forced effort completed with analysis of its social conditions is considered as the most valid to capture the problem of responsibility for boredom appearing during school-time. In answer to the third question the writer considers “epidemic of boredom” as a symptom of democratization and popularized presupposition that everyone has a right to fulfill their own life with meanings. To develop this assumption the author uses the analysis of boredom by Walter Benjamin and Martin Heidegger.
