- The project aims to develop technologies for the production of a sinker for heavy media (used in gravity separation of the minerals) on the basis of metallurgical wastes. Research includes the study of physicochemical properties of waste as a sinker, and the development of technology to modify these properties. The technology will be waste-less. Annual requirements of the sinker is approximately 15 thousand tons, and is met by imports. The product, which will result from the realization and implementation of the project will replace the imported raw material. In the years 1980-1985 prof. Tadeusz Piecuch with his team [1-8] conducted research and developed the technology and logistics of implementation of the mill waste sludge from wet cleaning of exhausts from blast furnace in Kosciuszko Ironworks for making a heavy liquid suspension. Industrial test of possibility of implementation of heavy liquid made from waste was carried out in Piast coal mine in Bierun Nowy from 30.08.1984 to 08.09.1984. An attempt is successful [7].
