- Eighty eight patients in whom clinical and laboratory examinations (microscopic studies of direct preparations cytologic examination according to Papanicolauo, determination of vaginal acidity) showed vaginal trichomonadosis were treated with J1 preparation in the form of tablets and rods. The drug is composed of: vioform, boric acid, succinylsulphathiazole, lactose. One course of the treatment resulted in a complete cure i.n 36 patients, 24 cures being achieved after two, and 9 cures after three courses; in 19 patients there was no curative effect. Apparently, the negative result in these cases was due to the penetration of the parasite from the urinary paths (in 10 patients it could be found in the urine) or from other unidentified sources of infection.
