W ramach pracy przeprowadzono badania doświadczalne ruchów wykonywanych podczas ewolucji tanecznych przez tancerzy klasycznych oraz współczesnych. W trakcie badań rejestrowano przebiegi sił reakcji podłoża oraz wyznaczono kinematykę ruchów kończyny dolnej. Badania zrealizowano przy pomocy systemu do analizy ruchu APAS. Ruchy wykonywane przez tancerzy rejestrowane były przez zestaw czterech kamer cyfrowych firmy Basi er. Siły reakcji podłoża wyznaczono za pomocą platformy dynamometrycznej firmy Kistler.
Experimental research of movements during dance evolutions by classical and modem dancers were conducted in the frame of work. Courses of ground reaction forces and kinematics of lower limb movements were determined. Investigation were realised with the used of motion analysis system APAS. Movements of dancers were recorded by set of four digital Basler cameras. Measurements of ground reactions forces were determined by Kistler platform.

Czym są języki tańca i na czym polega ich różnorodność? Z potrzeby metodologicznej refleksji nad tym zagadnieniem narodził się pomysł badawczego przyjrzenia się temu niełatwemu, wbrew pozorom, tematowi. Kłopot stanowi już podstawowa definicja przedmiotu badań. Dla Joan Kealiinohomoku kluczowy wydaje się moment rozpoznania tańca jako tańca właśnie przez członków tańczącej wspólnoty. Intuicyjnie nazywamy tańcem ekspresję bywalców klubów techno, oglądany na scenie balet klasyczny, telewizyjne show w rodzaju Tańca z gwiazdami czy będące często niezbywalną częścią rytuału tańce w kulturach plemiennych – fenomeny niesłychanie przecież odmienne. Łączy te zjawiska ruch ciała, w skomponowanej w czasie i przestrzeni strukturze, czasami posługującej się znakiem. Tym, co wysuwa się na pierwszy plan, byłaby funkcja estetyczna. Taniec to tworzenie i doświadczanie ulotnego piękna. W planowanym numerze będziemy poszukiwać języka, w którym teoria spotyka się z praktyką, a metodologia jest – jak w somaestetyce Richarda Shustermana – wglądem we własne cielesne doświadczenie, samowiedzą. Ideą numeru jest łączenie refleksji teoretycznej nad tańcem z praktyką taneczną i choreograficzną. Kategoria intymności w tangu argentyńskim, improwizacja wobec choreografii, taniec jako narzędzie międzykulturowe, choreografie przeszłości to tylko niektóre z planowanych zagadnień.

Amatorski ruch taneczny staje się coraz bardziej popularną aktywnością wśród dzieci w wieku wczesnoszkolnym. Brak systematyzacji nauczania tańca przyczynia się do nieodpowiedniego doboru poszczególnych form do potrzeb i możliwości uczestników zajęć. Ponadto formy dostępne w amatorskim ruchu tanecznym sprawiają, że taniec postrzega się jako sport, a nie dziedzinę sztuki. Podczas zajęć dąży się do osiągnięcia precyzyjnego odwzorowania ruchu demonstrowanego przez instruktora. Bardzo niewiele sytuacji umożliwa dzieciom indywidualne poszukiwania własnego sposobu poruszania się. Nie zwraca się uwagi na przekazywanie konkretnej intencji poprzez taniec. Dzieci nie mają sposobności do wyrażania własnych emocji poprzez ruch. Właśnie dlatego amatorski ruch taneczny nierzadko kształtuje niewłaściwą postawę do tańca wśród dzieci. Celem artykułu jest wskazanie wybranych grup czynników związanych z kształtowaniem się zjawiska tańca jako aktywności dzieci w wieku wczesnoszkolnym. Świadomość specyfiki ogólnodostępnych form tańca umożliwia wskazanie form mniej lub bardziej atrakcyjnych dla potrzeb dziecka. Przeprowadzone badania dowodzą, że w środowisku tanecznym nadal funkcjonuje wiele błędnych praktyk związanych z nauczaniem dzieci. Przede wszystkim zmian powinno się upatrywać w odpowiednim przygotowaniu instruktorów do pracy oraz w samej organizacji zajęć.
Amateur dance movement is becoming an increasingly popular form of activity amongst preschool-age children. A lack of systematization in dance teaching contributes to an inadequate choice of specific forms regarding participants’ needs and abilities. Furthermore, forms available in amateur dance movements introduce the perception of dance as a sport, not an art. During classes, the aim becomes mimicking the precise movement shown by the instructor. Too few situations let children pursue and develop their own way of moving. No attention is paid to carrying a specific message across through dance and children do not have an opportunity to express their emotions through movement. Hence, amateur dance movement often shapes an inappropriate attitude towards dance amongst children. The aim of the article is to indicate chosen group factors related to forming a phenomenon of dance perceived as a preschool-age children activity. Awareness of the specifics of widely available dance forms allows us to indicate which forms are more suitable for children-tailored needs. Research shows that in the dance environment many improper practices of teaching children still exist. Primarily, changes should be sought in inappropriate instructor job training as well as improvements to class organization.

Artykuł jest próbą odpowiedzi na pytanie, czym jest teatr tańca i jaką rolę odgrywa w terapii. W pierwszej części przedstawiona jest geneza oraz defi nicja teatru tańca, kolejno jego związki z terapeutyką oraz założenia terapii, a także przykłady leczniczego zastosowania ruchu scenicznego. Artykuł prowadzi do konkluzji, że teatr tańca, jako uniwersalny język umożliwiający mówienie o uczuciach i wewnętrznych konfl iktach, jest alternatywną metodą pracy z ludzkim ciałem i psychiką, szczególnie istotną w dobie narastających problemów w komunikacji intra- i interpsychicznej.
This article attempts to answer the question, what is dance theater and its role in therapy. In the Þ rst part the article shows the genesis and deÞ nition of dance theater, turns to its relationships with therapeutics and foundation of therapy, as well as examples of the therapeutic use of stage movement. The article leads to the conclusion that the dance theater, is a universal language that allows us to talk about feelings and inner conflicts, is an alternative method of working with the human body and psyche and it’s important as a factor in increasing problems in intra- and interpersonal communication.

Artykuł opowiada się za wysoką pozycją sztuki tanecznej w naukach humanistycznych. Jako, że taniec jest zakorzeniony w ludzkim ciele, tworzenie tańca oznacza tworzenie istoty ludzkiej. Składa się to na autentyczną sferę antropologicznej twórczości. Można zatem powiedzieć, że taniec jest antropologiczny i antropocentryczny. Stanowisko to znajduje swoje korzenie w tradycji helleńskiej, gdzie paideutyczna formacja społeczeństwa wolnych ludzi uwzględniała ćwiczenia fizyczne, głównie taniec zjednoczony z muzyką i słowem. Ludzkie ciało było tam postrzegane jako boska świątynia najszlachetniejszych ludzkich zdolności, które poddawane były ciągłemu szkolenia i doskonaleniu. Przedstawiono listę współczesnych dłużników Greków na tym polu w celu wykazania nieśmiertelności helleńskich idei wychowawczych przez tysiąclecia. Innym aspektem rozprawy są wzajemne relacje pomiędzy estetyką i etyką poprzez proces szkolenia w tańcu.
The paper advocates the high position of the art of dance in the humanities. Since the dance is embedded in the human body, creating dance stands for creating human being.  This makes up an authentic realm of the anthropological creativity.  Thus one can say that dance is anthropological and anthropocentric. The stand is rooted in the Hellenic tradition, where paideutic formation of the society of free men included physical exercises, predominantly dance united with music and word. In this the human body was perceived as a god-like temple of the noblest human faculties that were the subject of constant training and melioration. The list of modern “debtors” to the Greeks in this field is presented to instantiate the immortality of Hellenic educational ideas across millennia. Another aspect of the discourse is the interrelation between aesthetics and ethics through the training process in dance.

Kuduro is a type of music and dance which was created in the capital city of Angola (Luanda) at the end of 1980’. It combines batida with electronic music such as techno and house and also with rap, originating from US. The paper presenting this type of dance starts with its general characteristic, then continues describing factors influencing current shape and functions of kuduro. Next, we present in details the movements of this dance and conclude with an overview of the dance forms and the definition of kuduro dance which summarize the information presented in the paper.

Zwrócono uwagę na kompetencje terapeuty oraz wybrane metody w terapii tańcem. Na koniec omówiono korzyści stosowania tej formy pracy.
This paper defines the notion of dance therapy, as well as its characteristics, goals and functions. It also describes forms and kinds of dance therapy, including the methods of work with people affected by disability. The author turns the reader’s attention to the therapist’s skills and selected methods applied in dance therapy. Finally, the advantages of this form of work are described.

In his essay The Task of the Translator, Walter Benjamin compared literary translation to fragments of a broken vessel that need to be put together. Applying Benjamin’s metaphor to the world of dance, this article proposes to look at the practice of the Japanese classical dance as a translation process that occurs at the level of the body. Kirsten Hastrup’s anthropology of experience is proposed as the methodological perspective. Basing on her own body and many years of personal experience with nihon buyō as the field of her ethnographic research, the author reflects on her dual role of a dancer and a researcher, and her double – half-Japanese and half-Polish – identity. Reconstructing her experience of learning the dance, primarily the mistakes she made at the early stage, she looks into the process of transforming the body. With the dance recognised as a kind of a language, she proposes to approach it and its practice like a form of reading. Through a detailed analysis of different positions of the body and putting the body in motion, she searches for the possible ways to understand the dance and its translation. While doing so, she highlights this long-term process as a prerequisite for such a translation to occur.

Artykuł przedstawia nie tylko zagadnienia związane z uczeniem i nauczaniem tańca, podkreślając rolę ruchu w kształtowaniu świadomości fizycznej osobowości, umiejętności pokonywania trudności, ale zwraca również uwagę, jakie znaczenie odgrywa człowiek tańczący w tworzeniu światopoglądu, utrwalaniu tradycji, zrozumieniu wielokulturowości.
Active participation in dance education allows children to become familiar with a range of values that go beyond these associated with the profession of a ballet dancer. The remarkable unity of a dancing body is achieved by harmonious development of a body and mind. The article presents not only issues related to learning and teaching dance, while emphasising the role of dance in developing the consciousness of physical personality. It also sheds light on a dancing body as a means used in understanding more complex socio-cultural issues of the 21st century.

This article takes a closer look at the processes of re-appropriation of the aesthetic field within which the phenomenon known as ‘contemporary African dance’ was shaped in the second half of the 20th century, mainly for the use of Western audiences. In the context of the generally outlined political and economic conditions of production, and using examples of performances that illuminate the basic concepts of postcolonial theories (e.g. H.K. Bhabha, E.W. Said and R. Bharucha), the main historical and aesthetic lines of the formation of the term ‘contemporary African dance’ and its possible designations are presented, and the artistic attitudes and formal procedures that artists of different generations employ in the process of reclaiming and transforming the aesthetic field that this term defines are evoked.

Opis:
The choreographic productions of an American couple with an immigrant background are discussed here in the context of working for peace. The selected dance expressions of Keone and Mari Madrid activate the language of engagement, shedding some light on a variety of contemporary social problems related to isolation: the drama of contemporary refugees (We Are) and those suffering from the COVID-19 pandemic (Good Vibes Dance). The artistic duo’s multisensory choreographic works shift the viewers’ focus to the kinaesthetic code as well as the words and music, telling a story that is to facilitate a better understanding of social issues. Concentrating on the quality of the me–me, me–others relations, the Madrids allow us to redefine what we think about dance and recognise it as a readily available tool for building peace. The artists treat the dance as an innate language that undoes isolation.

The author tries to answer a question if the dance can be a tool for the work of the New Evangelization. Searching for an answer she shows what the role of dance was and refers to the Bible, to history of the Church and to the document of The Congregation for Divine Worship and the Discipline of the Sacraments about dance in the liturgy. The author also indicates examples of dance usage during meetings with young people, e.g. Lednica and World Youth Day.

The aim of the considerations presented in this paper is to determine the specificity of movement in contemporary dance. This specificity is considered at three levels: as the relationship of body parts to each other, as the relation of the body and part of it to the stage space, and as the relation of the body and parts of it to the qualitative parameters of movement such as speed, tension and size. The research data consist of the descriptions of dance performances, which are published in printed or electronic form during the organization of conferences, meetings and dance theatre festivals.

Opis:
Researching intersemiotic relationships between dance and literature poses a real challenge to both literary scholars and choreologists. Fascinating as it is, this aspect of the performative arts is exceptionally difficult to study due to the nonverbal nature of dance. However, once we assume that the two spheres of human expression are complementary, it should be possible to identify a number of intriguing interrelations between the two and to gain insight into a complex web of mutual inspiration and dependency. This article attempts to revisit some of the most important studies dealing with the representation of dance in fiction and the interpretation of dance as text. The list includes both Polish and foreign authors whose work could provide an inspiration and starting point for further research, including comparative studies.
