Artykuł zawiera informacje na temat struktury produkcji surowców mineralnych, organizacji rynku górniczego oraz uwarunkowań prawno-ekonomicznych związanych z działalnością biznesową w Argentynie.
The present article constitutes an attempt of a comprehensive description of the mining market of Argentina — a country that, apart from its relatively short mining tradition, within hardly more than a decade managed to build an impressive mining sector. The article contains information on the structure of mineral resources production, on the organisation of the mining market as well as on legal and economic conditions to be considered before starting business in Argentina.

Although the history of Polish emigration to Argentina began more than 100 years ago, the first Polish papers appeared there only in 1913. Earlier it was not possible because the Polish emigrants were scattered throughout the country. The author discusses the origins, aims, social role, ideological orientation and the evolution of more than 40 different Polish papers published in Argentina in the last 70 years. As a result of the assimilation process in the successive generations of emigrants, the number of Polish papers as well as their circulations have been decreasing quickly.

Początki polskiej emigracji do Argentyny sięgają XIX wieku. Polacy emigrowali do tego dalekiego, zamorskiego kraju najpierw jako osoby indywidualne, a następnie w większych grupach. Możemy wyodrębnić kilka fal polskiej emigracji zbiorowej do Argentyny: przedwojenną, czyli z okresu zaborów, ze szczególnym uwzględnieniem 1897 roku, międzywojenną i powojenną, zwłaszcza z lat 1945-1950. W artykule dokonano zestawienia informacji na temat historycznych aspektów opisywanego zjawiska, wyjaśniono przyczyny wyjazdów, podkreślono znaczenie roli duchowieństwa, wymieniono najważniejsze miejsca osiedlania się Polaków oraz sposoby i formy podtrzymywania polskiej tożsamości narodowej zarówno w przeszłości, jak i w teraźniejszości.
The origins of Polish emigration to Argentina date back to the 19th century. Poles emigrated to this distant, overseas country, first as individuals and then in larger groups. We can distinguish several waves of Polish collective emigration to Argentina: pre-war, that is, the period of partitions, with special regard to 1897, interwar and post-war, especially from 1945-1950. The article summarizes the information we have about the historical aspects of the phenomenon described, explains the reasons for the trips, highlights the role of the clergy, lists the most important places for Poles to settle, and the ways and forms of maintaining Polish national identity, both in the past and in the present.

The article is the first source publication devoted to the Polish education in Argentina in 1900-1980. The author makes use of both the Polish archives (the Records of the Primate of Poland) as well as the Polish sources in Argentina where he works. These records make the article particularly interesting. The article contains: a list of Polish schools, a description of curricula and of the teachers. Cultural and educational aims of the Polish schools are presented on the social background, namely, on the background of the processes of assimilation and integration which the emigrants are influenced by.

The presence of Poles in Argentina dates from the period of national uprisings: the Warsaw Uprising (1830) and the Polish Uprising (1863). They were mostly political refugees who fled the country. In the end of the 19th c. the Polish emigration for economic reasons arrived in Argentina, mainly from the Lvov archdiocese. At the beginning of the 20th c. there came ca 120 000 emigrants of various nationalities from Poland; after the Second World War ca 20 000 soldiers. The pastoral care for the faithful of Polish origin was conducted by Salesians, Verbists, Redemptorists, Saletins, Orionists, Piarists, Christ’s Missionaries of the Holy Family and Franciscans. After the Second World War they were joined by diocesan priests recruited basically from the prisoners of concentration camps. In the period of 1980-1987 at the request of Argentinian bishops there arrived priests mainly from the Tarnów, Białystok, Katowice and Łomża dioceses. The priests’ work was supported by nuns. The activity of priests and nuns obviously concentrated in parishes, schools, chaplaincy and hospitals. They carried out the construction of temples, chapels and schools. They were also involved in the cultural life of Polonia, e.g. radio broadcasts were organized, several religious magazines were issued etc. The presence of Poles marked out also in many spheres of economic-social life, that is, in agriculture, medicine, art, painting, oil industry, architecture etc.

The article is devoted to characteristics of the Argentinian Spanish and his influence on Polish used by the Argentine Polish community abroad. Under the attention they will be been overcome such phenomena as the yeísmo, seso, voseo, loísmo, lunfardo, interference and the Polish-Argentine dialect.

The article presents the origin, development and activity of the Polish Society in one of Argentine cities. Simultaneously, certain problems typisal of all Polish immigrant organizations come out. In the Inter-war period, Poles were very stubborn and finally successful in obtaining their own centre of Polish education and cultural life. After the war, old Polish organizations suffered from a very serious crisis which they managed to overcome in the early 1980s. They revived in a new form and started to perform entirely new kind of work (Polish folklore, theatre, education). Their revival was influenced to a large extent by the official government policy of multiculturalism.

The present article is about the continuities and changings in the foreign policy of Argentina in the XXI century. The governments of the Kirchner’s, Macri and Fernándeza were functioning in different international conditions and have to adequate their foreign policy to these conditions. The Peronist considered the foreign policy as part of the internal policy. Macri saw the foreign policy as the basic policy of the state needed to achieve the interest of the state and independently from the need of the internal legitimization of the government. Despite the announces of change in the foreign policy of the Kirchner’s and Macri there was several commons elements and the changes where not substantial’s. From the point of view of Argentina the most important where the relations with the United States and Latin America.

The purpose of this article is to reconstruct the emigration experiences of the main characters in Jozefa Radzymińska’s poem Opowieść o cudzoziemcach and to identify points of contact with the biography of the writer herself, who lived in Argentina for fourteen years after World War II. Radzymińska described the influence of great historical processes on the lives of individuals, she reflected in the work the stages of becoming an emigrant (i.e. shock, suffering, struggling with reality, stabilization), and she referred to her own experiences, which is confirmed in her reminiscence works. Opowieść o cudzoziemcach belongs to a circle of literature that preserves the history of Polish exile. The autobiographical motifs present in the poem, as well as the combination of the individual perspective with the collective experience, allowed the writer to reflect not only the realities faced by Polish emigrants, but above all to draw a portrait of their souls torn by a longing for their homeland.

Celem artykułu jest analiza zjawiska dehumanizacji, rozumianej jako odmawianie jednostkom bądź grupom cech przynależnych gatunkowi ludzkiego, w okresie argentyńskiej dyktatury wojskowej 1976-1983. Zjawisko to omówione zostało na przykładzie funkcjonowania Szkoły Mechaników Marynarki Wojennej (Escuela de Mecánica de la Armada, ESMA) w Buenos Aires, która w okresie dyktatury służyła jako jedno z największych w Argentynie centrów przetrzymywania wrogów reżimu i podejrzewanych o działalność wywrotową. W pierwszej części artykułu podjęta została teoretyczna refleksja nad zjawiskiem dehumanizacji w psychologii społecznej. W drugiej części przedstawione zostały ideologiczne podstawy dehumanizowania wrogów reżimu w trakcie dyktatury, jak również konkretne strategie dehumanizacyjne. Trzecia część tekstu stanowi analizę funkcjonowania ESMA, stanowiąc przykład przeniesienia ideologiczno-dyskursywnej dehumanizacji na poziom praktyki politycznej
The aim of the article is to analyze the phenomenon of dehumanization, understood as denial of traits belonging to the human species during the 1976-1983 military dictatorship in Argentina. The phenomenon is discussed on the example of the Naval School of Mechanical Engineering (Escuela de Mecánica de la Armada, ESMA) in Buenos Aires – one of the largest secret detention centres during the dictatorship, where enemies of the regime and suspected subversives were kept. The first part of the article covers theoretical reflection on the phenomenon of dehumanization in social psychology. The second part presents the ideological grounds for dehumanization of the regime’s enemies, as well as specific dehumanization strategies. The third part is an analysis of functioning of the ESMA, being an example of shifting from the ideological-discursive dehumanization to the level of political practice.
