    Opis:
    Errors due to interferences in writings of Polish students (intermediate and advanced level). Corpus based research This corpus-based research attempts at presenting errors of Polish intermediate and advanced students that can be found in Gran VALICO corpus. Only errors due to linguistic interference were taken into account. They were considered at the morphological, syntactic and lexical levels. Although interference is mostly present in the initial stage of language learning, some persistent errors were found also in writings with high overall evaluation. The problems involve, among others, use of ‘congiuntivo’ and ‘condizionale composto’, auxiliary verbs, spatial deictics and various types of the so-called false friends. It is also argued that corpus-based approach with a morphosyntactically annotated corpus is much more effective for managing linguistic data and sometimes reveals unexpected interference patterns.

    This paper investigates the language of the vernacular version of Lanfranco’s Chirurgia parva in the manuscript Ital. Quart. 67 kept at the Jagiellonian Library in Krakow. The brief description of the linguistic traits leads to the determination of the place of origin of the manuscript. From the initial idea that the manuscript was made in Northern Italy, through the examination of orthographic, phonetic, morphologic and lexical features, I arrive at the conclusion that the codex must have been written in Veneto, and more precisely in central Veneto, maybe in or near Padua. The language itself may be described as the expression of the “koiné di terraferma”, a very characteristic Venetian variety of the 15th century that combined local and Tuscan characteristics.

    In the paper we deal with the development of Latin possessive suus and with changes in use of the possessive from Latin to Italian. Citing examples from the Latin classical literature we demonstrate the inconsistencies and weaknesses of the grammar system that led to incoherent use of the linguistic forms and to consequent changes in the system itself. By analyzing sentences chosen mostly Caesar’s works we reached the conclusion that in Latin had not existed specialized pronominal forms employed exclusively in the oratio obliqua structures. Suus, se, sibi were used in order to establish referential identity of different elements which resulted in co-occurrence of identical forms that pointed to completely different referents. The evolution of the language in the 6th century abolished the difference between reflexive and pronominal form (classical Latin suus and eius). Such shift was a result of the incoherent employment of those forms in the oratio obliqua. At first, that usage was context-depending, then it was extended to become general and normative, which led to disappearing of the diversification between reflexive and pronominal forms.

    Multilingual corpora have found many applications in arts and humanities and social sciences, as well as in translation. A number of ways exist in which multilingual corpora can be used. Translators and CAT users would predominantly use translation memories (TM). Other users can choose from two ways of accessing the resources produced by The Institute of Slavic Studies. In the first method, the user needs to download the open-source TMX translation memories from CLARIN-PL DSpace repository (https://clarin-pl.eu/dspace) and load it into their preferred computer application. One can found free and proprietary applications that facilitate querying multilingual corpora; CLARIN-PL also offers free tools. The other method of accessing the multilingual data produced by The Institute of Slavic Studies does not require any advanced computer skills from the user. CLARIN-PL webpage includes the KonText search engine, which contains also Polish-Bulgarian resources (https://kontext. clarin-pl.eu/). The Polish-Bulgarian corpus contains the following types of resources: (1) fiction literature, (2) specialist literature (literature that is a reflection of the latest technological and cultural developments); and (3) film dialogues, which are the most similar to spoken language.

    The custom of offering the kiss of peace during the Eucharist goes back to the times of the apostles. Most often it is offered at the beginning of the Eucharistic liturgy. However, in the Roman Rite (from about the end of the 4th century) it is included in the rites of preparation for receiving Holy Communion. The sign that originally expressed the brotherhood among the participants of the assembly, over the centuries, has become a sign of paying homage to those who, for various reasons, are privileged. In addition, closeness to Holy Communion did not support the sign that caused „distraction” – a dispersion of attention focused on the presence of Christ in the Eucharistic signs. Therefore, despite attempts to cultivate the tradition of this sign, it disappeared in the Roman liturgy. The liturgical renewal after the Second Vatican Council restores this rite, but in a new form. The purpose of the prayer is changed: from the personal preparation of the celebrant for communion, it becomes prayer for peace; the kiss of peace is replaced with the „sign of peace”. The pastoral challenge is to care for the sign of peace, so that the participants of the assembly would not refuse this gesture, perceiving it as an obstacle to focus just before the personal reception of the Eucharistic Christ. On the other hand, it is important not to use the sign of peace as an occasion to express only human attitudes (brotherhood, reconciliation, kindness), forgetting that peace is a gift of the Risen One. It should be emphasized that this purely human gesture is an „opportunity” for the sharing of Christ’s gift through which He Himself prepares us for sacramental communion with Himself through the gift of peace.

    Opis:
    The Church performs its task of leading people to salvation, among others, through organizing chaplaincy in parishes. It means that parishes are extremely important centres of each diocese and the community of the faithful. It was the same in Lublin in the 1960s. Due to the fact that there were only two parishes in the city, the pastoral work of diocesan priests was also supported by religious orders. However, the tsarist government, in November 1864, dissolved most of the monasteries in the Kingdom of Poland, which caused difficulties in providing appropriate pastoral care. Therefore, at the end of 1864, the then administrator of the Diocese of Lublin Rev. Kazimierz Sosnowski made an attempt to reorganize a parish life in Lublin in order to satisfy religious needs of the faithful and fill the gap left by the dissolved monasteries. The reorganization involved creating two new parishes in the churches which had belonged to the Capuchins and Bernardines before their dissolution and transferring a parish service from St Nicholas Church to St Agnes Church, which had been in the possession of the Augustinians before the dissolution. In order to conduct this project, Rev. Sosnowski started negotiations with the Government Commission of Internal Affairs and Clergy, which finally ended in 1866. This article details the various stages of these negotiations, their causes and effects.
