Opis:
The paper discusses a philosophical anthropology of Emmanuel Mounier. The first part of the paper speaks about conception of man as a person. Mounier rejected the static-substantial and traditional dualistic conception of man. Every human being is not only an individual being but also an autocreative person. The main attribute of man is a freedom which is a responsible cooperation with other men. The second part of the paper is a general explanation of the social life’s ontology. Mounier protested against the liberal individualism and capitalistic model of social life. Before the second world war, his position toward Marxism was negative and after this war, it was ambiguous. He thought that the cooperation between Christians and Marxists in the field of economy and social life is possible. The third part of the paper discusses Mounier’s social-activist personalism. According to him personalism is first of all an activity for the goodness of man, a social cooperation, a democratic model of the state, a rejection of every kind of man’s alienation. Mounier wanted to make a conjunction of Christian personalism and Marxist idea of social revolution. The last part of the paper is an estimation of Mounier’s conception of personalism. His anthropology is a conglomeration of Thomism, existentialism, phenomenology and Marxism. He interpreted personalism in two ways: as an ontological theory of man-person and as an axiological idea of social community.

Opis:
The term personalism and the problem of the mystery of person has long occupied a prominent place in the study of philosophy. One of the most famous proponents of the idea of personalism is a French philosopher Emmanuel Mounier. His broad philosophical education has become an inspiration to attempt to create a philosophy  defending the value of man as a person. Starting from Christian thought he tried, using multiple and sometimes conflicting philosophies, to build a personalistic  system, the center of which is a person. It was reflected in his selection of collaborators publishing  in his journal “Esprit”, where philosophers of various denominations wrote, but the source of their common interests was a person. Personalism, according to Mounier, is a philosophy that comprehensively solves the problem of the person, on spiritual and material levels, and is a counterweight to the individualistic and collectivist tendencies. Trying to explain the mystery of the person, he does not give a precise definition, because the person is not the object, which can be simply defined. Personalism developed by Mounier is not a closed system, but just like the human being it is in the process of continuous becoming. It is a response to the crisis of man searching his identity as a person in the world.

Opis:
The present article proposes an approach to bioethical reflection in terms of reading and interpretation of personalist philosophy. Therefore particular attention is given to the theoretical perspectives and practical indications that are relative to human life, the human body, and the person understood as a process in the ever-open task of achievement and development: therefore, from an ethical perspective. Through a direct reading of the texts of G. Marcel and E. Mounier, as well as the critical literature relevant to them, the author has posed the question of indicating the perspectives and dynamics which are a concrete part of the project of the French personalists in the elaboration and construction of a new humanism through the process of personalization of the human being and his/her world (cultural ethics).

Opis:
In philosophy, the man is conceived as a subject that can give true meaning to objects and events taking place, as a result of which he constantly creates himself. In addition to that, there are no criteria of external character which the man would be able to discover and, on their basis, mark the scope of his own responsibility. Furthermore, there are no external institutions either to which the man would be responsible because the only way to which he should be responsible is himself. According to Professor Wojciech Słomski the development of modern societies contributes to the complication of a network of mutual dependences. This situation also makes it difficult to identify an entity responsible for that as well as whom we are responsible to. An element which forces the man to responsibility is the truth. The fact that the ideas on the concept of the truth are important, not only from the philosophical point of view as they constitute for each one of us individually and for all of us together an indispensable element of orientation in the world which surrounds us, just proves how much it is worth. Today we assume that the truth comes from knowledge obtained from natural sciences, and the contradictions that arise at the interface between science and religion only make us seek the truth and understanding for the element of true knowledge even more. As it turns out, however, there is a growing circle of supporters who assume that both philosophy as well as other sciences without any major problems will cope without the truth and objective reality, which eventually blurs the line between strictly scientific theory and philosophy.
