This paper analyzes P.Oxy. XX 2247, which is attributed to Aeschylus on the paleographic basis. After a general presentation of the papyrus, a linguistic commentary is proposed, suggesting, where it is possible, some remarks and overall reconstruction of the context; moreover, we discuss elements that confirm the attribution of this work to Aeschylus.

In books VI and VII of Apuleius’ Metamorphoses we find the robbers delivering some orations, which imitatethe genus deliberativum: they display sollemnity and refined elegance to such an extent, that the reader, beingaware that they proceed from the most heinous rogue’s lips, cannot but smile by himself.Composing this part of his tale, Apuleius also falls back on and re-treats some elements of the greek novel, inparticular the representation of the band of robbers like a sort of perverted state. In this article I will first show the resemblances that Apuleius’ rogue-tales share with the same places of theGreek novels’ writers, then I will continue to examine the speeches found in books VI and VII.I will demonstrate with how much elaboration Apuleius has amplified and augmented these tales, which theGreek novelists have merely outlined, for the sake of playing on extant literature, and I will clarify to whatextent we can understand this playing on literature as a parody.

Children at eight / nine years old do not have yet a complete and clear idea of the death; nevertheless, one way to approach them to reflect on this sensitive issue can be through literature, in particular with the Greek tragedy. Introducing the Greek tragedy already in primary school inevitably brings the child closer to the theme of the education of death and loss as well as addresses the issue of suffering. However, it is necessary to identify within the classical repertoire of Sophocles, Euripides and Aeschylus some positive characters who can guide children in understanding some adapted tragic moments. Institutions, teachers and associations are essential in accompanying children on this journey to discover death and mourning through the school curriculum and other alternative activities. Some teaching possibilities fall within multisensory, experiential and playful education. Here a proposal is presented by analyzing some elements of the Antigone tragedy to be put into practice in primary school.

Opis:
The essay considers synthetically the passages of Hesiod’s Theogony concerning Khaos, Gaia, Uranòs, and Tàrtaros as describing the cosmic structure at its very beginning and at its present state. The final result of the cosmogenetic process consists of three solid parallel disks of equal size separated from one another by the space of Khaos/Aèr. The whole structure is conceived of as an ideal cylinder (ideal because it has no real lateral walls), whose superior base is Uranòs (the Sky), the inferior one is Tàrtaros (the Hell) and the median section is Gaia (the Earth), dividing the whole cylinder into two high semicylinders full of Khaos/Aèr. From this Khaos/Aèr, the primal Four Elements (earth, water, misty air and fire) derive, as plants do from their roots, from which all other substances of the universe originate in turn. Thus, Khaos is arkhè (the ‘beginning’) not only in the chronological-historical sense, but also in the sense of an eternal generative substance of all things. We may conclude that the Hesiodic word khaos is a lexical ancestor of the later physical and philosophical term hyle because it conveys the primeval notion of ‘matter’.

Opis:
This article presents a system of financing churches and religious societies in the Czech Republic with emphasis on financing the Greek Catholic Church. The text deals with the history of church funding in the territory of Czechoslovakia since 1918, with emphasis on the liquidation of the Greek-Catholic Church after 1948 under the communist regime. After its fall in the autumn of 1989, within the framework of the restoration of the free operation of the churches, there was a gradual property settlement between the state and the churches, up to the current model of financing of churches and religious societies according to the Act on Property Compensation with Churches and Religious Societies. In terms of Czech Confessional Law, the Roman Catholic and Greek Catholic Church are two independent legal entities. In the framework of the Czech Bishops’ Conference (ČBK), the Greek Catholic Church has a disadvantage because the Czech Bishops’ Conference defends only the financial interests of the Roman Catholic Church. Financially, the Apostolic Exarchate is currently fully dependent on financial compensation from the state and its contributions. In the future, however, it will be necessary to look for own sources of funding, including support from the Roman Catholic dioceses in the Czech Republic.
