Opis:
Paweł Rojek in his Liturgia dziejów [Liturgy of History] rightly pointed the importance of Polish messianism for the understanding of John Paul II. It is especially convincing when one consider the early poetry of the future Pope, the testimony of his personal secretary sister Emilia Ehrlich, and the importance of suffering, both in theological reflexion, and personal life of John Paul II. Nevertheless, papal messianism was a very special kind. First, the concept of nation, adopted by John Paul II, did not exclude the universal dimension of humanity. The pope applied the principles of his theology of nation not only for Poland, but also for many others nations, and in many occasions prised the multinational political formations. Secondly, for him, the missions of nations were connected rather with martyrdom than historical victories. Most importantly, John Paul II united the messianistic vision with a very realistic approach to the history. In result, his ideas turned out to be a fatal threat for communist regimes in Eastern Europe. The Solidarity movement in Poland, inspired by John Paul II, might be seen as an attempt of realisation of this specific messianistic vision.

The introduction of the article presents some methodological clarifications that aim to achieve a proper thematic treatment of the foreigner in the Bible. It (a) states the need to place the study of terms that indicate the foreigner in the relevant semantic field, (b) stresses the importance to be accorded to the founding narratives, and (c) indicates the value of the term “figure” as applied specifically to the immigrant. The contribution is then divided into three sections: 1. “The Phenomenology of the Foreigner in the Bible” shows the criteria for defining the foreigner, and emphasises the specific notion of the immigrant; 2. “The Biblical Theology of the Immigrant” illustrates the precariousness of the one who requests hospitality and, at the same time, makes manifest the divine blessing for the one who welcomes him. 3. “The Biblical Norms Regarding the Immigrant” show how different precepts tend to equate the immigrant with the citizen itself.

Celem niniejszego artykułu jest przedstawienie teologii sekularyzacji i świata w ujęciu Friedricha Gogartena. Niezbędną pomoc w prezentacji myśli tegoż autora stanowi sentencja: „Człowiek między Bogiem a światem”, będąca jednocześnie tytułem jednego z jego najważniejszych dzieł. Zgodnie z myślą Gogartena, w życie człowieka wpisane jest ciągłe napięcie pomiędzy bezpośrednią i dynamiczną relacją z Bogiem a wynikającą z niej etyczną odpowiedzialnością za świat, w którym żyje. Z jednej strony spotkanie z Bogiem inspiruje człowieka do pozytywnej odpowiedzi na problematyczne pytania świata, jednakże z drugiej – przypomina mu o wynikającej z synostwa Bożego jego wolności od świata. W związku z tym, jedynym kluczem hermeneutycznym do zrozumienia życia między Bogiem a światem jest Jezus Chrystus.
The purpose of this article is to present theology of secularization and the world in the view of Friedrich Gogarten. An indispensable help in presenting our author’s thoughts is the sentence: „Man between God and the world”, which is also the title of one of his most important works. According to Gogarten’s thought, a constant tension between direct and dynamic relationship with God and the resulting ethical responsibility for the world in which he lives is inscribed in human life. On the one hand, the meeting with God inspires man to a positive response to the world’s problematic questions, but on the other hand, it reminds him of his freedom from the world resulting from God’s sonship. In this regard, Jesus Christ is the only hermeneutical key to understanding life between God and the world.

Niniejszy artykuł stanowi analizę teologiczną obrzędów święceń prezbiteratu z Pontyfikału Rzymskiego z 1968 r. Badania skoncentrowały się najpierw na wskazaniu tematów biblijnych obecnych w proponowanych przez Pontyfikał czytań obrzędowych. Następnie analiza skupiła się na głównych elementach teologicznych obecnych w euchologii obrzędów święceń. W ostatniej części ukazana została wymowa teologiczna najważniejszych gestów związanych z udzielaniem sakramentu święceń w stopniu prezbitera. Przeprowadzone studium ukazuje bogactwo teologiczne zawarte w pierwszej posoborowej księdze liturgicznej, która poddana późniejszej redakcji, stała się podstawą współczesnych obrzędów święceń, a przez to również postrzegania teologii kapłaństwa. Jedną z charakterystycznych cech posoborowej redakcji jest szczególne dowartościowanie w nich elementów eklezjologicznych.
The paper consists of an analysis of the Rite of Ordination to the Presbyterate in the Roman Pontifical after the Second Vatican Council. Firstly, the researched focused on the biblical topics in the lectures prescribed for the celebration. Secondly the analysis concerned the main theological elements incorporated in the euchology of the rite of ordination. In the last part of the paper the author tried to show the theological meaning of some liturgical gestures connected with the Rite of Ordination to the Presbyterate. The study shows the richness of theology of the elaborated rite. One of the most important characteristics of the post-conciliar redaction is the appreciation of the ecclesiological elements of the rite.

Article briefly discusses the history, or rather “pre-history”, of the First Ecumenical Council of Constantinople (381), highlighting all those people who have made an outstanding contribution to his calling and have an impact on the course of its deliberations, as well as to develop and solemn announcement dogma concerning the deity of the Holy Spirit. Thus, the article focuses on the diplomatic and theological activities of Cappadocian Fathers as such, but primarily focuses on the person of the bishop of Caesarea in Cappadocia – St. Basil the Great.
Artykuł krótko omawia dzieje, czy raczej „prehistorię”, pierwszego soboru powszechnego w Konstantynopolu z 381 r., uwypuklając te wszystkie postacie, które w sposób szczególny przyczyniły się do jego zwołania i miały wpływ na przebieg jego obrad, a zatem także na wypracowanie i uroczyste ogłoszenie dogmatu dotyczącego bóstwa Ducha Świętego. Tak więc, artykuł skupia się na działalności dyplomatyczno-teologicznej Ojców Kapadockich, a wśród nich przede wszystkim na osobie biskupa Cezarei Kapadockiej – św. Bazylego Wielkiego.

Nauczanie Nowego Testamentu w zakresie teologii stworzenia koncentruje się na wydarzeniu Jezusa Chrystusa. Pisma Nowego Testamentu ukazują „Boga, który ożywia umarłych i powołuje do istnienia to, czego jeszcze nie ma” (Rz 4,17). Przesłanie Nowego Testamentu przedstawia zbawcze działanie Boga w Jezusie Chrystusie, także w kontekście teologii stworzenia. Wzajemna korelacja stworzenia i historii zbawienia jest niezbędna dla zrozumienia przesłania teologii stworzenia, które w rzeczywistości osadza się na zapowiedzi odkupienia dokonanego przez Jezusa Chrystusa. Innymi słowy, refleksja nad stworzeniem wypływa z refleksji nad zbawieniem, które jest nierozerwalnie związane z wydarzeniem Chrystusa. Uznanie Chrystusa za jedyny „początek i koniec” wszystkich rzeczy, kieruje nasze spojrzenie w kierunku obietnicy odkupienia stworzenia od wszelkich przejawów zła, które dotyka je obecnie. Jest jednocześnie zaproszeniem do odrzucenia wszelkiego dualizmu. Nie można zatem „odrywać” od siebie porządku „natury” oraz „łaski i prawdy”, z drugiej zaś strony, nie oznacza to wszystko prostej identyfikacji tych dwóch porządków.
New Testament teaching on the theology of creation underlines the event of Jesus Christ. The New Testament Scriptures describe "God who gives life to the dead and calls into being things that were not" (Rom 4:17). The New Testament message presents God's saving action in Jesus Christ, also in the context of the theology of creation. The inter-correlation of creation and salvation history is essential to understanding the message of creation theology, which is actually based on the announcement of the redemption accomplished by Jesus Christ. In other words, reflection on creation flows from reflection on salvation, which is inseparable from the Christ event. Recognizing Christ as the only "beginning and end" of all things directs our gaze toward the promise to redeem creation from all dimensions of evil that affects it today. It is at the same time an invitation to reject all duality. Therefore, one cannot "separate" the order of "nature" and "grace and truth" from each other, however, this does not mean a simple identification of these two orders.

The article deals with the problem of authority in the fundamental aspects of the philosophy of dialogue, which in the I-You relationship acquires a specific meaning. The dialogical plane emphasizes the tension between the subjects, showing the dynamics of the meeting as well as its specific movement and variability. The concept of Martin Buber and Józef Tischner was recalled, opening a new discourse on the fundamental role, meaning and sense of authority today. Buber says that the dialogue itself appears as relation of beings, while Tischner shows the meeting as an event in which the agathological horizon of good and evil is present, which in both concepts puts a new light on the problem of authority. Authority not only internally assumes turning “to” someone/ the Other, but also assumes being “for” someone/ the Other and towards someone/ the Other.

In late antiquity, in the context of the jagged tradition of Neo-Platonism,Aristotle’s Metaphysics and the specific science that is traced out in itare indicated with the current denominations of meta ta physika andtheologikē pragmateia, which are seen as consistent with one anotherand closely interconnected. In this connection, the Metaphysics, in thewake of previous philosophical readings, is considered as a treatise on“theological science” - the most elevated among the sciences - and thedenomination meta ta physika is seen in a specifically theological sense.According to a widespread Neo-Platonic reading, the science thematizedin the Metaphysics is “metaphysics” in that it is theological science,an epistemic discourse on divine realities, which, within the ordo rerum,transcend the physical ones, and, therefore, according to the ordo cognoscendi,must be studied after the latter.

The study sheds light on the problem of communication in the Church and proposes a model of dialogical communication based on data analysis. It must be in harmony with the content of speculative theology, but at the same time it must meet the linguistic needs of the present time. Pope Francis, with the Synod, is channeling many changes in the right direction. Empirical analyses of media coverage of representations of the Catholic Church, provide further support for this theme. On the one hand, we have the press in Slovenia, which is saturated with news about the Church, and on the other hand, we have Radio and Television, which are undernourished. Often, the Church is presented along with celebrities, celebrations, politics and charity work. If we take into consideration the dialogical model of communication, these issues can be entry points for better and more qualitative communication.

Starting with such a provocative title, the essay aims to answer the question of whether jurisprudence can be considered as a source of law in the canonical judicial system. In order to achieve the objectives of the present work, it is proposed not to observe a traditional path followed by those who interpret the provision of canon 19 of the current Code of Canon Law, but rather to consider jurisprudential creativity which represents, in its various manifestations, an unavoidable feature of legal experience. This premise helps to reconsider the source concept of law and systematizes the role of jurisprudential doctrine in the hierarchy of sources in the canonical legal system.

Nell’approccio al pensiero di Giovanni Duns Scoto, ci si imbatte in maniera inevitabile con la luminosa testimonianza di vita di un grande santo. Si ha a che fare con “un insieme inseparabile di filosofia, teologia e spiritualità”. Giovanni Duns Scoto, filosofo e teologo del XIII secolo è un autore controverso e originale. Le sue opere in passato hanno avuto più critici e oppositori che sostenitori e discepoli. È un pensatore più moderno di quanto ci si possa immaginare. Non è per niente uno fra i tanti teologi e filosofi del passato, né i suoi scritti servono solo ad impolverare le nostre biblioteche. „Non è un fossile da ammirare, ma è un Maestro vivo e palpitante, pieno di ardore e di preziose intuizioni” di grande attualità. Questo francescano di origine scozzese, nato tra il 1265/66 e morto a Colonia l’8 novembre del 1308 lontano dalla sua patria, è un teologo ed un santo di grande spessore che solo oggi forse possiamo iniziare ad apprezzare.
Badając myśl Jana Dunsa Szkota, nieuchronnie napotyka się na świetlane świadectwo życia tego wielkiego świętego. Mamy tu do czynienia z „nierozerwalną całością filozofii, teologii i duchowości”. Jan Duns Szkot, filozof i teolog żyjący w XIII wieku, jest autorem kontrowersyjnym i oryginalnym. Jego twórczość w przeszłości miała więcej krytyków i przeciwników niż zwolenników i uczniów. Nie jest on bynajmniej jednym z wielu teologów i filozofów przeszłości, a jego pisma nie służą jedynie do zbierania kurzu w naszych bibliotekach. „Nie jest on skamieliną, którą można podziwiać, ale jest żywym i zachwycającym Mistrzem, pełnym zapału i cennych spostrzeżeń” o wielkiej aktualności. Jego myśl jest bardziej nowoczesna, niż można by przypuszczać. Ten franciszkanin szkockiego pochodzenia, który urodził się w 1265 lub 1266 r., a zmarł 8 listopada 1308 r. w Kolonii, daleko od swojej ojczyzny, jest teologiem i świętym o wielkiej głębi, którą być może dopiero dzisiaj zaczynamy dostrzegać.
In approaching the thought of John Duns Scotus, one inevitably encounters the luminous life testimony of a great saint. One is dealing with “an inseparable whole of philosophy, theology and spirituality.” John Duns Scotus, 13th century philosopher and theologian, is a controversial and original author. His works in the past have had more critics and opponents than supporters and disciples. He is a more modern thinker than one might imagine. He is by no means one of the many theologians and philosophers of the past, nor are his writings just gathering dust in our libraries. “He is not a fossil to be admired, but a living and throbbing Master, full of ardour and valuable insights” of great relevance. This Scottish-born Franciscan, born between 1265/66 and died in Cologne on the 8th November 1308, far from his homeland, is a theologian and a saint of great depth that we can perhaps only begin to appreciate today.

In the post-Council period, one can find different attempts at a synthesis of the declarations of the Council with regards to the theme of the apostolate of the laity. Opis:
Edmund Bojanowski, an esteemed Polish pedagogue who lived in the XIX century, dedicated his life to the creation of education services for small children in his country, (which he called Ochronki (= protection), and to the training of the women instructors (Ochroniarki = the protectors). His objective was a preschool education inspired by Catholic values, as man was created “in the image and likeness of God”; he envisioned a system that would raise good citizens and good Christians, enabling them to tackle the challenges of life. Blessed with a strong educational vocation, he put great effort in preparing the women instructors for this task, providing them with both pedagogic knowledge and rigorous moral principles, as well as promoting critical thinking and sense of responsibility, with the authority borne of love for the true good. He strived to promote these abilities in his instructors, so that they would transfer them to the children; he felt these qualities transform knowledge into life wisdom, and allow a person to live with dignity and respect for oneself and others. These core beliefs were also the basis for the creation of a religious order of nuns.

This paper reaffirms the truth of the Social Doctrine of the Catholic Church (CSD) and its impact in the socioeconomic sphere in Western Civilization. Specifically, it seeks to put in order the chaos in which secularized European society currently finds itself. Through Archbishop Giampaolo Crepaldi’s interpretation of CSD, the author dispels erroneous notions of collectivism surrounding private property, productive work, soli-darity, and subsidiarity by arguing that a proper understanding of these principles sup-ports a healthy capitalism, which in turn supports human dignity. Only through a capi-talism in line with a proper understanding of CSD principles can the poor stand to gain the most, provided they have a socioeconomic framework in which they can independ-ently thrive. Liberation theology as a cornerstone of a socioeconomic framework de-stroys the foundation the Church established through the centuries. In the interpretation of the relationship between the CSD and the capitalist economy provided by this paper, the concept of private property emerges as the central nucleus of any human operation, be it cultural, economic, social, or political. Ownership does not only mean possessing material things, but also spiritual elements. Thus ownership also means identity, of a person and of a people. As we enter the third decade of the twenty-first century, the ideology of political correctness—that is, the ideology of the various cultural and po-litical movements of the left—condemns identity as dangerous, a condemnation which furthers the operation of globalization, the homogenization of humanity, and the related attempt to weaken nations in view of a supranational management. If identity is one of the consequences of the concept of property, then this latter must also be banned, as an obstacle on the way to that global dis-identification that would herald a socialization of the Western world. But from the perspective of the main spiritual foundation of the West, that is, of the Judeo-Christian tradition, property is one of the pillars of society, and therefore cannot be suppressed or even undermined. The Social Doctrine of the Catholic Church, founded by Pope Leo XIII and relaunched by Pope John Paul II, is an excellent antidote to the ideological poison of socialism and progressivism now wide-spread in all Western countries.
