    The paper deals with the role of multilingualism in selected text types. The reflections on forms of multilingualism and occasions for using multiple languages in a text lead to the creation of a typologythat distinguishes between obligatory and optional use of multiple languages in text types. The obligatory multilingualism is constitutive in dictionaries, textbooks and teaching materials. Optional multilingualism, which was examined using the example of German advertising texts and grave inscriptions from Germany and Denmark, reinforces the main function of the text.

    W 2010 roku archeolodzy z Muzeum Narodowego w Szczecinie oraz RömischGermanische Kommission DAI Frankfurt/Main przystąpili do realizacji wspólnego programu badawczego pt. „Wcześni Słowianie na ziemi pyrzyckiej”. W latach 60. i 70. XX wieku obszar ziemi pyrzyckiej był objęty intensywnymi prospekcjami przez archeologów z Muzeum Narodowego w Szczecinie. W efekcie tych badań najwcześniejsze stanowiska słowiańskie „horyzontu Dziedzice” datowano na VI–VII wiek. Podjęty wspólnie z kolegami niemieckimi program miał na celu kontynuację badań nad tym zagadnieniem, korygujących obecny stan wiedzy. W pierwszym etapie realizacji projektu przeprowadzono geofizyczne rozpoznanie potencjalnie najbardziej obiecujących stanowisk archeologicznych. Po kwerendzie archiwalnej wytypowano sześć stanowisk, tj. Dziedzice, pow. Myślibórz, stan. 4 (AZP 39-10/50); Strąpie, pow. Myślibórz, stan. 4 (AZP 39-11/2); Moskorzyn, pow. Stargard Szczeciński, stan. 16 (AZP 35-10/40); Dobropole Pyrzyckie, pow. Stargard Szczeciński, stan. 10 i 12 (AZP 36-12/85 i 82); Suchań, pow. Stargard Szczeciński, stan. 18 (AZP 33-13/32); Derczewo, pow. Myślibórz, stan. 3 (AZP 39-08/4). W efekcie przeprowadzonych prospekcji wytypowano do badań wykopaliskowych osadę w Dobropolu Pyrzyckim, pow. Stargard Szczeciński, stan. 12. Prace wykopaliskowe przeprowadzono w sierpniu – wrześniu 2010 roku. Zarejestrowano ogółem 37 obiektów archeologicznych na przebadanym obszarze 5,25 ara. Przeważająca część z nich składa się na osadę wczesnośredniowieczną. Najliczniejszą grupę stanowią jamy najczęściej o nieokreślonym przeznaczeniu (21), dołki posłupowe (8) oraz paleniska (5). Trzy obiekty datowano na okres halsztacki. Na szczególną uwagę wśród obiektów wczesnośredniowiecznych zasługują trzy ziemianki wczesnośredniowieczne. W trakcie badań pozyskano ogółem 2832 fragmenty ceramiki. Chronologicznie ceramika niezdobiona odpowiada materiałom typu Sukow-Dziedzice, natomiast wśród fragmentów ornamentowanych uwagę zwraca ceramika nawiązująca do typu Menkendorf.
    In 2010 archaeologists from the National Museum in Szczecin together with Römisch-Germanische Kommission Deutsche Archäologische Institut Frankfurt/Main set about working together on a research project called the Early Slavs in the Pyrzyce Region. Already in the 1960s and the 1970s the area of the Pyrzyce Region had been intensely examined by researchers from the institution in Szczecin. It resulted in discovering the earliest Slavic sites of so-called the Dziedzice horizon, which have been dated to the 6th–7th century. The current Polish-German research project was aimed at continuing examining this matter, including verifying the chronology that had been previously established. In the first stage of the project geophysical survey of potentially the most promising archaeological sites has been carried out. Based on the archival research six sites have been selected: Dziedzice 4, Myślibórz County, (AZP 39-10/50); Strąpie 4, Myślibórz County, (AZP 39-11/2); Moskorzyn 16, Stargard Szczeciński County, (AZP 35-10/40); Dobropole Pyrzyckie 10 and 12, Stargard Szczeciński County, (AZP 36-12/85 and 82); Suchań 18, Stargard Szczeciński County, (AZP 33-13/32); Derczewo 3, Myślibórz County, (AZP 39-08/4). The settlement at Dobropole Pyrzyckie 12, Stargard Szczeciński County, was selected for excavation. The work was carried out in August and September 2010 and covered in total the area of 5,25 ares where 37 archaeological features have been recorded. Most of them belong to the early medieval settlement. The most numerous group consisted of pits out of which majority was unidentified in terms of usage (21), postholes (8) and hearths (5). Three features have been dated to the Hallstatt period. Three early medieval dugouts are worthy noticing. During the research 2832 fragments of pottery in total were found, including fragments of undecorated pottery vessels which correspond to the materials of the Sukow-Dziedzice type as well as decorated ones which make reference to the Menkendorf type.

    The aim of the paper is to describe the column as a type of text. This text type has its roots back in the 19th century France. But at the beginning this text type had a totally different character, different form, aim and features. It was a part of newspaper, where novels, critiques and poems were posted. Nowadays there may occur a problem to define the term ‘column’. Generally it is the text type with a polemical and derisive character, which serves as the entertainment, but sometimes the term ‘column’ still refers to a part of the newspaper. This article defines the term and how this text type has developed through the time.

    Obwohl, oder vielleicht gerade dadurch, dass der Nachruf im Interessengebiet mehrerer Forschungsdisziplinen steht, gilt er als eine immer noch unzureichend untersuchte Kategorie. Auch aus der textsortentypologischen Sicht herrscht über den Status des ‚Nachrufs‘ sowie dessen funktionale und thematische Merkmale und definitorische Parameter in der germanistischen Forschung keine Übereinstimmung. Hinzu kommen die immer wieder in der Tages- und Online-Presse erscheinenden Texte, die mit dem Vermerk ‚kritischer Nachruf‘ im Titelkomplex versehen werden. Sollte dies somit bedeuten, dass sich neben dem Nachruf eine neue Größe etabliert hat? Der Beitrag setzt sich zum Ziel, den Nachruf als Analyseobjekt aus unterschiedlichen Perspektiven zu beleuchten und anhand der Analyse von ausgewählten Pressetexten zu ermitteln, ob es sich bei kritischen Nachrufen womöglich um eine neue Textsortenvariante handelt.
    Despite, or perhaps because of the fact that the obituary is in the area of interest of several research disciplines, it is regarded as a still inadequately examined category. From the point of view of linguistic genology concerning the German studies of this text type, scholars are not unanimous on the status of the obituary, its functional and thematic features and definitional parameters. Furthermore, both in printed and electronic press one can increasingly find texts provided with an annotation ‘critical obituary’ in the title. Does it mean that beside the obituary there has been established a new category? The author of this article aims to describe the concept of the obituary, discuss it from different perspectives, and on the basis of selected press releases, examine whether it is possible to talk about differentiating a new variant of text type.
    Mimo, a może właśnie z tego powodu, że wspomnienie pośmiertne znajduje się w obszarze zainteresowań wielu dyscyplin badawczych, uchodzi ono za wielkość, która nadal niewystarczająco została zbadana. Z punktu widzenia genologii lingwistycznej w badaniach germanistycznych dotyczących rodzajów tekstów badacze nie są zgodni co do kwestii statusu, wyróżników funkcjonalnych i tematycznych wspomnienia pośmiertnego ani też odnośnie wyznaczników definicyjnych tego gatunku. Ponadto w prasie drukowanej i elektronicznej pojawiają się coraz częściej teksty opatrzone w tytule wzmianką ‘krytyczne wspomnienie pośmiertne’. Czy należy więc z tego wnioskować, że obok wspomnienia pośmiertnego wykształciła się nowa wielkość? Artykuł przybliża pojęcie wspomnienia pośmiertnego oraz ukazuje je z różnych perspektyw, a na podstawie analizy wybranych tekstów prasowych stawia także pytanie, czy w przypadku krytycznego wspomnienia pośmiertnego można mówić o nowym wariancie gatunkowym.

    Opis:
    Presented paper is devoted to the forms of the sword belt buckle produced on the territory of the Central European Barbaricum, which are characterised by presence of fastening riveted down to bottom plate and which are a part of baldric. It seems that the custom of hanging sword on the belt worn over one shoulder emerges in Barbaricum at the beginning of 2nd century AD or shortly earlier. Perhaps in connection with the widespread presence of barbarian auxiliary troops in the Roman army. Original reception environment of this habit was the Elbe Germanic cultural circle. Whilst in the case of the Early Roman Period buckles from this territory one may trace their local stylistic origin, the specimens dated to the Younger Roman Period are true imitation of Roman models. Occurrence of the balteus buckles in other regions of Central European Barbaricum can be considered as a result of influences from the Elbe Germanic cultural circle, and dated back not earlier as to the 1st half of the 3rd century AD.

    Durch Pressetexte werden Konventionen über die darin dargestellten Themen etabliert. Am Beispiel dreier Nachrichten der Deutschen Welle über Polen betreffende Vorgänge sollen Aspekte einer pragmatischen Textanalyse erarbeitet werden. Zielsetzung ist es, Übergänge von sachlicher und meinungsbildender Formulierung innerhalb der Textsorte ‚Nachricht‘ zu bestimmen. Insgesamt soll mit Bezug auf die Kritische Diskursanalyse ein Analyseablauf erstellt werden, der relevante Elemente in fassbare Kategorien einteilt.
    Press texts establish conventions concerning the topics which they describe. Referring to example texts from the Deutsche Welle, this article focuses on aspects relevant to pragmatic textual analysis. The three selected texts deal with the representation of political actions in Poland. The proposed pragmatic analysis aims to capture the relations between objective and opinion-building elements in the basic type of text as a news item. Drawing on critical discourse analysis, a practical tool for analysis is introduced which groups relevant elements into categories.

    Da unter Forschern bemängelt wird, dass es an diachronischen empirischen Untersuchungen zu einzelnen Textsorten fehlt, versucht die vorliegende Analyse diese Lücke zu füllen. Die Wahl fiel dabei auf die Anfänge von verschriftlichten Testamenten. Die Autorin orientiert sich an dem unter Sprachhistorikern gängigen Diktum, dass Sprachgeschichte auch Textsortengeschichte ist. Dabei wählte sie als Untersuchungskorpus Quellenmaterial aus Breslau aus, das sie selbst erhob und transliterierte. Ausgegangen wurde vom geschichtlichen Hintergrund und den anschließenden Eintragungen testamentarischer Texte in die Stadt- und Kopialbücher. Dabei wurden vier Beschreibungsebenen festgelegt. Auf diesen Ebenen wurde auch das Untersuchungsmaterial aus Breslau analysiert. Im vorliegenden Artikel werden die Breslauer mittelalterlichen Bürgertestamente unter den Aspekten einer textlinguistischen Beschreibung behandelt, wobei sich vor allem zwei Ebenen – die axiologisch-ontische und die stilistische – im Vergleich zu der heutigen mentalen Vorstellung eines Testaments unterscheiden. Der Beitrag versteht sich auch als Einladung, weiterführende Untersuchungen in Bezug auf die Textsorte in ihrer Diachronie zu unternehmen, da ihr Gewinn für die Linguistik nicht zu unterschätzen ist.
    Scientists often criticize there are not enough diachronical empirical investigations about sorts of texts. The analysis I did, is trying to close this gap. The choose was falling on the beginning of testaments when they wrote down. I’m geared at the dictum of linguists, that the history of language is at the same time the history of sort of texts. The corpus of my investigation includes material I found by my own. I also transliterated it. Already in further time I analyzed the linguistic structure of testaments of citizens in Krakow. These investigations were very successful. Therefore, I wanted to use the same method for testaments of citizens in Breslau. I started with the historical background and the registration of testamentery texts in the so called “Stadtbuch” (registry of town). I explained four levels of description. The same method I used for the investigation of the last will of the citizens of Breslau. In this present paper I give attention on text-linguistical aspects. But there is one difference between two levels: the axiological-ontological and the stylistic level – compared to the contemporary conception of a testament. My contribution can also understand as an invitation for forthcoming investigations of the diachronic of such sorts of texts. The benefit for the subject linguistic shouldn’t underestimate.

    Vor uber 10 Jahren sind Arztbewertungsportale als ein neues mit Medizin zusammenhangendes Angebot im Internet entstanden. Seit dieser Zeit entwickeln sie sich dynamisch und werden langsam zu einem etablierten Marketinginstrument in der medizinischen Branche. In diesem Beitrag werden Arzte-Profile auf Arztbewertungsportalen als Vorstellungstexte aus textlinguistischer Sicht analysiert. Mit einem Modell textlinguistischer Beschreibung werden sie als Textsorte charakterisiert, indem auf ihre konstitutiven Merkmale auf verschiedenen Ebenen hingewiesen wird.
    Over 10 years ago, physician rating portals emerged as a new medicine-related offer on the Internet. Since then, they have been developing dynamically and gradually have became an established marketing tool in the medical industry. In this article, physician profiles on physician rating portals as introductory texts are analyzed from a linguistic point of view. Using a model of textual linguistic description, they are characterized as a type of text by pointing out their constitutive features at different levels.

    Geographical names are extremely helpful in giving evidence of early settlements and their inhabitants due to their solid anchorage in the landscape, even in the case of population changes. Through the investigation of these place names, information can be gathered not only on the name giver, but also on the settlers who took on the names later on. Therefore, it is considered that any linguistic investigation has to start from the river and place names of a region. The utilization of geographical names yields the following findings: — The centre of Old Slavic names is situated on the northern slope of the Carpathian Mountains, approximately between Bukovina and Krakow; it is based on a substrate of older, Indo-European hydronyms. — The expansion of the East Slavic tribes bypasses the Pripyat Marshes and extends further through Central Russia and especially to the North and the East. — West Slavic settlers reach their new settlement areas through migration from Bohemia and further on to Saxonia and Thuringia, and also through Western Poland to Brandenburg and Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania. — The migration of the South Slavs takes place in two big, yet separate flows, on the one hand through the Moravian Gate to Slovenia, Hungary and Croatia, and on the other hand on the Eastern edge of the Carpathian Mountains to Serbia and Bulgaria.
