Opis:: The paper is devoted to selected issues related to the strategies and procedures used in the translation process. It considers the description of the selected classification, i.e. the typology of translation techniques according to Ulrich Kautz, illustrated by numerous examples. The considerations include an evaluation by bachelor students of the Department of German Studies at the University of Rzeszów, concerning the identification/ selection/ application/ verification of translation strategies and techniques in the practical training of translation efficiency and mastering new vocabulary in a given subject area.

Opis:: In the theoretical part, we present a historical tradition of the so-called montage effect as a relation between a text and a picture, which relates to the discipline known as linguistics of an image. In the material part, we analyze the intermedial narration technique on the example of a Polish translation of a quasi-novel (a debut novel) by Jaroslav Rudis Niebo pod Berlinem which is examined in the light of Walter Benjamin’s theory of culture.

Opis:: As in any human action, motivation is playing a key role in learning foreign languages. There are different types of motivation – one of them is curiosity. Curiosity is one of the strongest motivators, since it is based in the human character. Psychologists call curiosity the core of motivation. In my paper I will address a new learning technique, which consists of two didactic concepts at the same time: Learning by teaching and subject orientated learning. Subject orientated learning means the combination of a specific content to be learnt and a given person.
