    The present paper aims to describe the speech behaviour pattern of PROPOSAL in German and Polish. The term “speech behaviour pattern” refers to the purposeful verbal behaviour. The illocutionary content of PROPOSAL is determined in accordance with the theory of semantic primes. The contrastive analysis has the following three aspects. First, typical implementation forms of this speech behaviour pattern are described in both languages. Then, their use in concrete functional and communicative contexts is exemplified. Finally, the composition of the communicative-pragmatic field of PROPOSAL is analysed in German and Polish. Particular attention is given to the central and peripheral forms of implementation as well as to the similarities and differences in the formulation of utterances expressing PROPOSAL in German and Polish.

    The object of the contribution is the action-type-related, synonymous and antonymous variance of the idioms of the type “in der Klemme sein”, which is thematized against the background of the traditional phraseological and construction-grammatical approaches in phraseology. The idioms are compiled in their macroparadigms and examined with regard to the formation mechanisms (construction patterns/templates) of the action type related variants, synonymous and antonymous pairs. The goal of the paper is to identify the design patterns (construction patterns, templates) present within the macro paradigms. The conceptualizations and descriptive entities of traditional phraseology underlying the paper: micro- and macroparadigms, character fields, model formations/phraseotemplates, synonymous and antonymous pairs, synonymous phraseological series appear compatible with the tools of construction grammar, in particular with the entities of construction and construction pattern and the mechanism of coining. Thanks to the consideration of the language as a whole (language system in its entirety) and the orientation towards cross-level (lexis-syntax-semantics) and at the same time systematic changes, construction grammar provides a favorable theoretical framework for the description of the paradigmatically conditioned variance of idioms.

    Autobiographien werden einerseits geschrieben, damit die Erzähler sich ihrer Identität vergewissern, andererseits um gewonnene Erfahrungen an die nächste Generation weiterzugeben. Dieses Potenzial der Literatur für die Bildung wird Generativität genannt. Am Beispiel von Christa Wolfs "Kindheitsmuster" wird diskutiert, inwieweit die Darstellung der Kindheit zur Zeit des Nationalsozialismus sowie der Reise nach Polen im Jahre 1971 Gestaltung wirklicher Ereignisse oder Fiktion ist. Bei der Analyse erweist sich, dass der Realitätsbezug nachweisbar, zugleich aber das Werk kunstvoll komponiert ist. Damit können wir von einer Autobiographie zweiter Ordnung sprechen, die aus individueller Geschichte allgemeine Leitsätze und Denkimpulse anbietet. Dieses Wirkungspotenzial erzeugt Generativität: Ein Vermächtnis für die nachfolgenden Generationen.
    On the one hand autobiographies are written to make the narrators sure of their identity, on the other hand to transmit their acquired experiences to the next generation. This potential of literature is called generativity. Illustrated by Christa Wolf’s "Kindheitsmuster" it will be discussed to what extent the description of events in the childhood during the time of National Socialism and of the trip to Poland in 1971 is a reproduction of reality or invented fiction. By interpretation it will be proved that reconstruction of reality is as evident as the composition of a complex work of art. So we can describe Kindheitsmuster as autobiography of second order, which is offering general lessons and thought patterns by the means of an individual story. This potential creates generativity: a legacy for the coming generations.
    Autobiografie powstają z jednej strony dlatego, że narratorzy chcą się umocnić w swej tożsamości, z drugiej zaś, by własne doświadczenia przekazywać następnym generacjom. Ten potencjał literatury dla procesu kształcenia określany jest mianem generatywności. Na przykładzie "Wzorców dzieciństwa" Christy Wolf w artykule podjęto rozważania nad kwestią, na ile opisane w powieści lata dzieciństwa w okresie narodowego socjalizmu oraz ukazana tu podróż do Polski w 1971 roku opierają się na rzeczywistych wydarzeniach, a na ile są fikcją literacką. Przeprowadzona analiza wykazuje, że związek z rzeczywistością jest udokumentowany, lecz jednocześnie utwór ten ma bardzo wyszukaną kompozycję. W tym przypadku można zatem mówić o ‘autobiografii drugiego rzędu’, w której na bazie własnych doświadczeń formułowane są ogólne zasady i przemyślenia. Dzięki temu uwidacznia się generatywność: dziedzictwo dla następnych generacji.

    Der Kampf um die Durchsetzung bestimmter Deutungsmuster im gesellschaftlichen Kollektivwissen erfolgt mittels Sprache, d.h. das kollektive Wissen und Gedächtnis, sowie bestimmte Bedeutungen werden u.a. sprachlich konstruiert. Insofern kann ein „Streit um Sache“ als ein „Streit um Worte“, also als ein semantischer Kampf (Felder, 2006, S. 1) betrachtet werden. In diesem Sinne wird Macht auch über Semantik ausgeübt. Das Ziel des vorliegenden Beitrags ist die Analyse des Begriffs naród/Volk, seiner Bedeutungen und der daraus entstandenen Einzelnarration über das wahre Volk im politischen Diskurs polyphoner Ich-Erzähler. Das umfangreiche Analysekorpus umfasst 100 politische Wahlreden der polnischen und deutschen Rechtspopulisten.
    The struggle to establish certain patterns of interpretation in collective social knowledge is fought by means of semantics. Collective knowledge and at the same time certain meanings are linguistically constructed. In this respect, a “dispute about the matter” can be viewed as a “dispute about words”, that is, a semantic battle (Felder, 2006, p. 1). In this sense, power is exercised through semantics. The subject of this paper is the analysis of the right-wing patterns of interpretation in the political discourse of the 21st century, in fact polyphonic first-person narrators, an attempt at capturing its typical features and at reconstructing the right-wing political narrative on the nation/Volk promoted by politicians during their meetings with voters.

    The aim of the study is to show the possibilities of using corpus analyses for theintroduction of light verb constructions in German during foreign language lessons. The corpus analyses of three selected light verb constructions Maßnahmen ergreifen, einen Beschluss fassen and Bericht erstatten show the co-occurrence of these units and enable the creation of syntagmatic patterns and the allocation of individual light verb constructions to thematic areas. The results of the analysis confirm the thesis that syntagmatic patterns are an aid to learners of German, as they present their use in a sentence and show the partner words with their syntactic function. This method can present the context of use and the thematic area of the light verb constructions. The results of the analyses are also a guideline to placing the syntagmatic patterns in German-Polish dictionaries to help learners to use them and communicate with them correctly

    Die Engelsche Grammatik der deutschen Sprache (1988, 2004) gehort zweifelsohne zu den Meilensteinen der Valenztheorie. Ihre Effektivitat, Brauchbarkeit, relative Einfachheit in der Formulierung der Regel fand insbesondere im DaF‑Bereich eine grose Anerkennung. In diesem Beitrag wird die Auffassung der Valenz im Engelschen Sinne mit der Valenz, bzw. mit der Intentionstheorie im Slowakischen konfrontiert. Die Entwicklung der Valenztheorie im deutschsprachigen Raum einerseits und die der Intentionstheorie auf dem slawischen andererseits, weist viele ahnliche aber auch unterschiedliche Zuge auf. Es wird sich zeigen, dass es sich um eine parallele Entwicklung des gleichen Sprachphanomens handelt.
    Engel’s grammar of German language (1988, 2004) belongs undoubtedly to the milestones of valency theory. Effectiveness, usability, relative simplicity in the formulation of rules found recognition especially in the area of teaching German as a foreign language. In this article, understanding of valency according to Ulrich Engel will be confronted with the theory of intentional verb in Slovak language. The evolution of the theory of valency on the German territory on the one hand, and the development of the theory of intention on the Slavic territory, on the other has many similar but also different features. The article will show that it is a parallel development of the same linguistic phenomenon.
