- [...]Since Adam Smith the main point of market economics is realizing market equilibriums. The market equilibrium is coming out by competition on the market like the guidance by an “invisible hand”. But a lot of economists are not sure, that the “invisible hand” is able to lead to market equilibriums. The economists believe that interventions (regulations) by the state are necessary to come to market equilibriums. The discussion among economists led to a dispute about market or state respectively competition or cooperation. One pike of the discussion led in German transport theory and policy to the slogan “cooperation instead of competition”. This slogan was used in the area of transport minister Leber (1966–1972) and the famous Leber-Plan.[...]
