Die in München von Gemeinsam leben lernen e.V betriebenen Wohngemeinschaften sind eines von vielen Beispielen für das inklusive Zusammenwohnen der Menschen mit und ohne Behinderung, die in ganz Deutschland realisiert werden.
    In this article author presents a practical implementation of the idea of inclusive living-communities. The association "Gemeinsam leben lernen eV" runs inclusive living-communities in Munich, in which disabled persons live together with people with disabilities. They are just one of the examples of such solutions used in all Germany.

    At first sight, the idea of European integration seems to be an entirely modern matter. If we talk about it, it is most likely in frames of decades, or utmost (considering the change of millennium) we talk about it as a matter of the last century. However, we can undoubtedly find roots of European integration far earlier – namely in the period when Roman Empire was forming not only the disposition of Europe, but also the history of a part of the African and Asian continent. Although motivations of those, who inspired the European integration, were different, we can also see efforts to ensure lasting peace by peace agreements.

    Possibilities of Positioning Focus Particles nur/tylko in German and Polish and their Relation to the Domain Focus particles are distinctively characterized by their capability of changing positions in a sentence. Any change of the position involves a change in the sentence intonation and meaning. In German, focus particles can, as a rule, be attached to any type of the XP phrase, such as DP, PP, AP, VP, or CP. What can be identified as the domain depends on the structural integration of the particle in the sentence. The recognition of the domain is a prerequisite for a correct interpretation of a sentence. The present paper, using the findings of research on the focus particle nur, studies the positioning of the particle ‚tylko‘ in the sentence and its relation to the domain based on the National Corpus of Polish (NKJP).
    Eine besondere Eigenschaft von FPn ist Variabilität ihrer syntaktischen Positionen im Satz. Den verschiedenen Stellungsmöglichkeiten folgen unterschiedliche Akzentmuster wie auch Bedeutungsunterschiede. Im Deutschen können sich Fokuspartikeln grundsätzlich mit jeder X-bar-Phrase verbinden. Von der Art der strukturellen Einbettung hängt es ab, welcher Teil einer Äußerung als Bezugsausdruck der Fokuspartikel identifiziert wird, was wiederum für die korrekte Interpretation eines Fokuspartikelsatzes entscheidend ist. Der vorliegende Beitrag untersucht kontrastiv zu dem Deutschen die Positionierungsmöglichkeiten der polnischen Fokuspartikel tylko sowie ihr Stellungsverhalten zum Bezugsausdruck. Der Analyse wurden hierbei Sätze des nationalen Korpus der polnischen Sprache (NKJP) unterzogen.

    This article discusses Bronisław Huberman (1882–1947), a Polish-Jewish virtuoso of the violin who is nowadays known mainly to aficionados of music history, interested in music of the first half of the 20th century. The article reminds us of the fact – lost completely in the collective memory of today’s European Union – that Huberman was next to Richard N. von Coudenhove- Kalergi a relevant precursor of European integration and author of programme manifestos of this idea. The idea of European Integration was in Huberman’s time known as Pan-Europe and Huberman himself was a famous disseminator thereof at the international level.

    Thirty years of foreign policy in united Germany – an opportunity to take stock, identify challenges and make prognoses. The author looks at political, economic and military developments as well as aspects of sustainability in the period from 1990 to 2020. With a view to the upcoming elections for the Bundestag in September 2021, food for thought is given.
    Trzydzieści lat polityki zagranicznej zjednoczonych Niemiec to okazja do dokonania pogłębionej analizy sytuacji, określenia wyzwań i przyjrzenia się perspektywom. W artykule podjęto próbę przeanalizowania zmian, które zaszły w obszarach polityki, gospodarki i wojskowości, zbadano również kwestie dotyczące zrównoważonego rozwoju w okresie od 1990 do 2020 r. Dodatkowego materiału do przemyśleń dostarczają nadchodzące wybory do Bundestagu, które mają się odbyć we wrześniu 2021 r.

    Romanization is one of the most cultural phenomena of the Roman world, whose distant echoes are palpable even today. It should be construed as a consolidation of the image of the Roman state throughout its territory, while taking local cultural components into account. It was not directed and controlled from above; on the contrary, it should be approached as a grassroots process, by and large a spontaneous one. It was not straightforward and direct either, as Roman culture was disseminated and consolidated via a secondary, or „second-hand” impact.

    Der Artikel präsentiert und vergleicht die Konzepte der europäischen Integration zweier deutscher Parteien – CDU und CSU – und zweier polnischer Parteien – PO und PSL – die Mitglieder der Europäischen Volkspartei (EVP) sind. Es gliederte sich in eine Einleitung, drei Teile – der Erste, der Umriss, wie die polnische und die deutsche Partei die Europäische Union wahrnahmen, der zweite, der sich auf die Modelle der europäischen Integration bezog, die den oben genannten Parteien nahestanden, und der dritte, der beschreibt, wie CDU, CSU, PO und PSL die Erweiterung der Europäischen Union wahrgenommen haben – und das Schlusswort. Der Artikel analysiert Parteidokumente, hauptsächlich Wahlprogramme, die in den Jahren 2004–2019 veröffentlicht wurden.
    The article presents and compares the concepts of European integration of two German parties – CDU and CSU – and two Polish parties – PO and PSL – which are members of the European People’s Party (EPP). It was divided into an introduction, three parts – the first one, which outlined how the Polish and German parties perceived the European Union, the second one related to the models of European integration that were close to the above-mentioned parties, and the third one, which describes how the CDU, CSU, PO and PSL perceived the enlargement of the European Union – and the conclusion. Article analyzes party documents, primarily election programs, that were published in 2004–2019.

    Bilingual education has many aspects. Teachers and parents of bilingual children face many difficult issues. This article starts with the definition of the problem and gives different types of bilingualism. Elements of the language programs in school, that are to be changed resp. developed, are presented. By this semilingualism should be avoided, the integration of children of a different L 1 and their equal career chances are to be guaranteed. Some innovative and creative projects show the right way.

    The paper provides an analysis of three essayistic works of the young post-immigrant generation representatives: Lena Gorelik, Jagoda Marinić and Maxi Obexer. The significant affinity of the essayistic texts consists in the intercultural and self-reflexive perspective of the authors who expound issues related to traditional classifications and terms of culture alterity and diversity. The essays put issues of the language, designation and acceptance within the context of the current migration movements in the focus of attention. For the three authors who are established in the interculturality it is of great importance to present and reflect upon the contingency of discourses which are attributed to the essentialism culture concepts, and also to question and update the inherited terminology of the current integration discourse.
    Artykuł zawiera analizę trzech eseistycznych prac przedstawicielek młodego pokolenia postimigrantów: Leny Gorelik, Jagody Marinić i Maxi Obexer. Istotne powinowactwo tych tekstów polega na międzykulturowej i autorefleksyjnej perspektywie autorek, które rozważają kwestie związane z tradycyjnymi klasyfikacjami i pojęciami różnorodności kulturowej. W esejach tych w centrum uwagi znajdują się kwestie języka, określania i akceptacji w kontekście obecnych ruchów migracyjnych. Dla autorek wyrosłych w świecie interkulturowości bardzo ważne jest opisanie i refleksja nad kontyngentyzmem dyskursów esencjalistycznych, a także kwestionowanie i aktualizacja odziedziczonej terminologii obecnego dyskursu integracyjnego.

    There are approximately 1.3 billion Muslims in the world. In Germany, the make up 5% of the population. 1.8 million of them have German citizenship. As for 2008, 63% of the Muslim population in Germany was of Turkish origin. The German Islam Conference, started in 2006 in Berlin, seeks to provide a national framework for dialogue between the German state and Muslims living in Germany and improve religious, social and political integration of Muslims into German society. In 1978, a request to introduce Islamic classes was submitted for the first time. In the 1980s Bavaria and North Rhine-Westphalia introduced ”religious instruction” for Muslim pupils (within the framework of instruction in their mother tongue, i.e. Turkish). Since 2000 the instruction is given also in the German language. In 2010 the German Council of Science and Humanities decided to establish ”Islamic centers” at German universities. Two years later, the University of Tübingen inaugurated the Center for Islamic Theology for the education of islamologists, imams and Muslim ”religious instructors”. There are no legally recognised Muslim holidays in Germany. Recently, the Secretary General of the Central Council of Muslims in Germany, Aiman Mazyek, has called to do so. Unlike in Great Britain, there are no Muslim arbitration courts issuing pronouncements based on the Sharia law. But the Muslim call to prayer is covered by the right of the freedom of religion. In 2004-2005 there were 1.152 conversions to Islam in Germany.
    Szacuje się, że 1,3 miliarda ludzi całego globu wyznaje islam. W Niemczech 5% społeczeństwa przyznaje się do tej religii (1,8 miliona to obywatele niemieccy). W roku 2008 około 63% muzułmanów żyjących w Niemczech miało tureckie pochodzenie. Powstała w 2006 roku Niemiecka Konferencja ds. Islamu ma na celu religijną i społecznopolityczną integrację ludności muzułmańskiej w Niemczech. W 2006 w Berlinie odbyła się pierwsza Niemiecka Konfrencja Muzułmańska. Jej celem było nawiązanie dialogu pomiędzy państwem niemieckim a muzułmanami w Niemczech. W roku 1978 w Niemczech został po raz pierwszy złożony wniosek o wprowadzenie islamskich lekcji religii. W latach 80. Bawaria i Nadrenia-Westfalia wprowadziły „naukę religii” dla muzułmańskich uczniów (w ramach lekcji ojczystego języka tureckiego). Od roku 2000 lekcje te prowadzone są również po niemiecku. W 2010 roku Rada Naukowa zdecydowała o założeniu „islamskich ośrodków” na niemieckich uniwersytetach. W 2012 na uniwersytecie w Tybindze rozpoczęło swoją działalność Centrum Teologii Islamskiej, kształci ono islamologów, imamów oraz islamskich „nauczycieli religii”. W Niemczech nie ma państwowych świąt islamskich. Przewodniczący Centralnej Rady Muzułmanów Aiman Mazyek domaga się, aby święta islamskie były oficjalnie przyjęte jako niemieckie święta. W Niemczech (inaczej jak np. w Wielkiej Brytanii) nie funkcjonują „islamskie sądy polubowne” wydające wyroki według szariatu. Natomiast islamskie zwoływanie na modlitwę chronione jest prawem wolności religijnej. W latach 2004-2005 1.152 osoby przeszły na islam.

    This paper aims to investigate the role conceptual compressions play in the strategy of transcoding commonly applied in simultaneous interpreting. First, the most fundamental rules of the form-based transcoding and the meaning-based translation will be described. Second, the idea of conceptual compressions derived from the Conceptual Integration Theory will be discussed. As the last step, a specific pattern of conceptual compressions typical for the strategy of transcoding will be outlined.
    Cel artykułu stanowi eksplikacja roli kompresji pojęciowych w strategii transkodowania stosowanej w tłumaczeniu symultanicznym. Zasadnicze rozważania poprzedza zwięzły opis strategii transkodowania (form-based strategy), strategii tłumaczenia pionowego (ścieżki strukturalnej) oraz koncepcji kompresji pojęciowych opracowanej na gruncie teorii integracji pojęciowej (Conceptual Integration Theory). Następnie opisany został schemat kompresji pojęciowych typowy dla strategii transkodowania.

    The content of the paper concerns the reflection on the responsibility for aging from the individual-ethical point of view, as well as party from the socio-ethical one. In the empirical aspect, there will be presented the science currently particularly important for getting old, namely genetics. In terms of anthropology some values of aging will be considered for human dignity, freedom and historicity. Single ethical realizations concern generations’ contract, learning how to shape time – especially social time – a central task of a family, erotica and sexuality in old age, integration of their own life story and biblical interpretation of these tasks.

Grade wegen der Popularität wurden einige von Ihnen in den neuen Bedingungen für die Vertriebenen zu meinungsbildenden Organen. Bis in die 60er Jahre nahm dort die Frage der Integration der aus Ostdeutschland gekommenen Vertriebenen viel Platz ein. Behandelt wurden politische, wirtschaftliche, soziale und psychologische Aspekte der gar nicht so einfachen Eingliederung in die bundesrepublikanische Gesellschaft. Die Analyse von ausgewählten Kalendern (Ermländischer Hauskalender, Sudetendeutscher Kalender, Karpaten-Jahrbuch, Danziger Hauskalender und Danziger Heimat) weist sowohl auf Ähnlichkeiten als auch auf Unterschiede in der Wahrnehmung dieser Problematik durch die einzelnen Vertriebenengruppen hin.
    In the late 1940s, German expellee groups revived the idea of publishing calendars and almanacs, which had been popular in the regions they lived in before the Second World War. Due to their vast popularity, some of the modern calendars and almanacs quickly became opinion-forming organs that both presented and shaped the attitudes of German expellees. Until the 1960s, a lot of space was given in those publications to the problem of integration of German expellees from Central and Eastern Europe, including its political, economic, social and psychological aspects. An analysis of selected calendars (Ermländischer Hauskalender, Sudetendeutscher Kalender, Karpaten-Jahrbuch, Danziger Hauskalender and Danziger Heimat) revealed similarities and differences between the approaches to the above issue adopted by different expellee groups.
    Już pod koniec lat 40. poszczególne grupy wypędzonych reaktywowały kalendarze ludowe, popularne w ich regionach przed wojną. Właśnie ze względu na popularność, przynajmniej niektóre z nich także w nowych warunkach szybko stały się organami opiniotwórczymi, z jednej strony prezentującymi, z drugiej kształtującymi postawy wypędzonych. Do lat 60-tych w publikacjach tych wiele miejsca poświęcano problemowi integracji przybyłych ze wschodu Niemców, ze wszystkimi aspektami politycznymi, gospodarczymi, społecznymi i psychologicznymi tego zjawiska. Analiza wybranych kalendarzy (Ermländischer Hauskalender, Sudetendeutscher Kalender, Karpaten-Jahrbuch, Danziger Hauskalender oraz Danziger Heimat) pokazuje zarówno podobieństwa jak i różnice w ujęciu tej problematyki przez różne grupy wypędzonych.

    Der Band enthält die Abstracts ausschließlich in englischer Sprache.
    For some years now scientists have been dealing with multi- and intercultural phenomena. After presenting definitions of interculturalism and the integration policy in Germany for foreigners in the 70s, the author states that nowadays teachers start to understand the problem of migration and therefore multicultural and -lingual classrooms better. Many teachers try to take advantage of an additional culture/ language as a certain value. How to start dealing with those subjects and to motivate students to think these topics over is shown on the example of two films, a German one (Italian immigrants and their life for twenty years in Germany) and an Austrian film from the early 90s (an Iranian guy, former German teacher in his home country, comes to Vienna, taking his teenaged son and sister with him and tries hard to start a new life in Vienna. It is stated that a teacher can work with a film as a medium to reach his goal of discussing the current global topic foreign cultures.
