    Opis:
    In this paper, the author tries to deliver exercises for Polish students of German language with Danish as other foreign language. On the basis of the common German-Danish word-formation-patterns, the author attempts to build a new Danish-learning-model, based on these common patterns, the parallelism of which stays on the level of ca. 60-95%, allowing so a more often German-Danish transfer. Using these and other similarities between the two languages a student of Danish with German as source language can from the very beginning learn Danish in a more effective way.

    The history of Faroese writing only begins in the 18th century with the writing down of dance ballads, while the first grammar was written in the middle of the 19th century. As a result, the history of Faroese lexicography is much more modest compared to other languages. For the Danish-Faroese language pair, the list of dictionaries has recently been enriched by the first bilingual pictorial dictionary “1001 færøske ord” (København 2021) with Danish as the source language. Its macrostructure is onomasiologically structured and includes a good 1000 thematically ordered entries at level A1. The access to lemmas is either via the table of contents or via the Danish or Faroese alphabetically ordered keyword index in the final chapter of the publication. A weakness of the dictionary is the grammatical minimalism in the design of the microstructure of the keywords. One of the advantages of the publication is the illustration: the large and colourful illustrations of various types visualise the intended denotation in an exemplary manner. In this respect, the publication represents a solid editorial work. The didactic value of the publication is enhanced by the table with an overview of the phonetic system and some pronunciation rules of Faroese. The picture dictionary is primarily suitable as a didactic tool for the first encounter of Danish-speaking recipients with Faroese to learn the vocabulary at a rudimentary level.
    Die Geschichte des färöischen Schrifttums beginnt erst im 18. Jh. mit der Aufzeichnung von Tanzballaden, die erste Grammatik wurde Mitte des 19. Jhs. bearbeitet. Demzufolge präsentiert sich auch die Geschichte der färöischen Lexikografie im Vergleich zu anderen Sprachen viel bescheidener. Für das Sprachenpaar dänisch-färöisch wurde die Liste der Wörterbücher in der letzten Zeit durch das erste zweisprachige Bildwörterbuch 1001 færøske ord (vgl. København 2021) mit Dänisch als Ausgangsprache bereichert. Seine Makrostruktur ist onomasiologisch strukturiert und umfasst gut 1000 thematisch geordnete Stichwörter auf dem Niveau A1. Der Zugriff auf Lemmata erfolgt entweder über das Inhaltsverzeichnis oder über das dänische oder das färöische alphabetisch geordnete Stichwortregister in dem Schlusskapitel der Publikation. Als Mangel des Wörterbuches ist der grammatische Minimalismus in der Gestaltung der Mikrostruktur der Stichwörter zu nennen. Zu den Vorteilen der Publikation gehört die Bebilderung: Die großen und farbigen Illustrationen von verschiedenen Typen visualisieren das gemeinte Denotat musterhaft. In dieser Hinsicht stellt die Publikation eine solide editorische Arbeit dar. Den didaktischen Wert der Publikation erhöht die Tabelle mit einer Übersicht über das Lautsystem und einige Ausspracheregeln des Färöischen. Das Bildwörterbuch eignet sich primär als didaktisches Mittel für die erste Begegnung dänischsprachiger Empfänger mit Färöisch zum Erlernen des Vokabulars auf rudimentärem Niveau.

    The article attempts to discuss two examples of Danish literary discourse on former Danish colonies on the Gold Coast (Africa). Sophie Petersen’s travel books “Danmarks gamle Tropekolonier”, 1946 (The former Danish Tropic Colonies) and “Vore gamle Tropekolonier”, 1948 (Our former Tropic Colonies) and Thorkild Hansen’s documentary novel “Slavernes Kyst”, 1967 (The Coast of the Slaves) have been analyzed as texts that reveal a part of the Danish colonial and postcolonial (self-)reflection and consciousness. The literary representations of Africa given in the aforementioned books reflect the Danish nation-building project in the respective historical, political and mental contexts (during the Second World War and in the sixties). Petersen and Hansen apply different writing strategies (rhetorical as well as discursive) in their presentations of the Danish history of the Gold Coast, and they seem to represent rather dissimilar approaches to this topic. As a conclusion, the author of the article attempts to answer the question about the role of the African representations in the Danish self-understanding as a nation.

    The following article seeks to present the model of classification of German derivatives which can be traced to both Fillmore’s The Case for Case (1968) and the German formative description proposed by Hans Wellmann from 1984 to 1998 (Duden. Die Grammatik, Band 4). The model seems to remain in conformity with the rule of aligning semantic fields to particular parts of sentences. The particular rule applied for German language was formulated by Wolfgang Motsch (2004). Renata Grzegorczykowa and Jadwiga Puzynina (1999) applied the rule in their analysis of the Polish word formation system. The fundamental role of the model is to classify each and every occurrence of the derivatives in accordance to both their semantic role and the directly motivating sentence segment of an explicative phrase. Derivatives set in such classes can be additionally classified in accordance to the specifi ed suffixes. The discussed model allows systemizing the results of word formation of a particular language. The model enables distinguishing systemic traits of vocabulary, therefore providing the learner with a specific overview and a greater degree of transparency. While considering German and Danish languages, it can be concluded that the Danish word formation system remains in conformity with its German counterpart and is equally complicated in its nature. Danish derivational translating equivalents comprise 65% of Danish equivalents in the following study.

    The article examines the emotive influence of visual elements on the reception of German and Danish grave inscriptions. The material basis of analysis are photos of tombstones from the 19th and 20th century from cemeteries in Saxony and Copenhagen. The methodological basis is the theory of multimodal text and the starting point of the analysis is the typology of image-text relationships, which is supplemented by further observations. The study analyzes representatives of different semantic classes of visual components from different time periods. Among the most expressive and impressive sculptural representations are those with references to eschatology and the person of the deceased. In their use, two distinct strategies can be noted: the strengthening of mourning mood and the repression of the picture of death.

    Opis:
    Medieval Denmark´s great period of expansion in the Baltic Region lasted from the middle of the 12th century to the battle of Bornhöved in Holstein in 1227. Before the middle of the 12th century the Danish Realm expanded into Northern Germany including the Duchy of Pomerania. The dukes of Pomerania were vassals of the Danish king. But also after the military defeat of Bornhöved, parts of the duchy belonged to Denmark, namely the Principality of Rügen. Documents in the Danish National Archives in Copenhagen prove that the Danish fiefdom of the Principality of Rügen lasted at least until 1438.
    Wielka ekspansja średniowiecznego Królestwa Danii w rejonie Bałtyku trwała od połowy XII wieku aż do bitwy pod Bornhöved w 1227 roku. Przed połową XII wieku królestwo ekspandowało też na teren Niemiec północnych, włączając w to Księstwo Pomorskie, którego władcy byli lennikami Danii. Także później jednak część Pomorza – Księstwo Rugii nadal było lennem duńskiego króla. Na podstawie dokumentów przechowywanych w Królewskim Archiwum w Kopenhadze można wskazać, że duńskie zwierzchnictwo lenne nad Księstwem Rugii trwało przynajmniej do 1438 roku.
