medieval latrines - Opis:
- In the years 2003-2004 in the courts and basements Wróblewski-Collegium of the Jagiellonian University salvage archaeological works were carried out. Within courtyards the walls of the baroque buildings were unveiled. They can be identified as the Norbertine monastery (foundation after 1622) and Academic Theological Seminary (setting after 1757). From the filled-in basements a small collection of tiles were acquired. They come out of the oven with a magnificent heraldic finial in the form of a white eagle with a crown on a red field, which on the basis of iconographic sources can be dated to the first quarter of the seventeenth century. In the eastern part of the northern courtyard and adjacent parts of the basements two medieval latrines were discovered.
