    Überlegungen zum Prozess der Identitätssuche und zum Einfluss des Anderen auf diesen Prozess am Beispiel von vier gewählten Protagonistinnen aus den Romanen von Monika Maron, einer in vielerlei Hinsicht bemerkenswerten Autorin der DDR-Generation, sind das Ziel des vorliegenden Beitrags. Marons Protagonistinnen sind ausgebildete Frauen, die in tiefer Zerrissenheit zur Außenwelt leben, weil sie einerseits das System in dem totalitären Staat nicht länger hinnehmen wollen und andererseits sich nach 1989 von der Gesellschaft zurückziehen, sich entfremdet und resigniert fühlen. In den Werken wird die Suche nach einem selbstbestimmten Leben in der Position der Protagonistinnen zur Außenwelt bzw. zum Anderen, insbesondere in unterschiedlichen auf Konfrontation ausgerichteten Situationen, die sich sowohl in der Phantasiewelt als auch in der Realität abspielen, dargestellt.
    The main aim of this article is a reflection on the search for identity carried out by the female protagonists in four selected novels by Monika Maron, one of the best known writers born in former East Germany, and on the impact of other characters in this search. The protagonists are well educated women who are deeply conflicted with their external world because, on the one hand, they find the totalitarian state intolerable and, on the other, after 1989 they start to withdraw from the society, motivated by a sense of alienation and despondency. The novels present a complex process of the female protagonists’ search for identity while they are confronting the characters from their real world and the imaginary one, existing only in the women’s imagination.
    Głównym celem artykułu są rozważania na temat poszukiwania tożsamości bohaterek czterech wybranych powieści Moniki Maron, jednej z najbardziej znanych autorek wywodzących się z byłej NRD, oraz o wpływie w tym procesie poszukiwania drugiej osoby. Bohaterkami są kobiety wykształcone, które żyją w głębokim konflikcie ze światem zewnętrznym, czego powodem jest z jednej strony nietolerowanie totalitarnego systemu państwa a z drugiej już po 1989 roku wycofywanie się ze społeczeństwa, poczucie wyobcowania i rezygnacja. Utwory przedstawiają skomplikowaną drogę poszukiwania własnego ja w konfrontacji z osobami z realnego świata bohaterek oraz wymyślonego, istniejącego tylko w wyobraźni owych kobiet.

    Der Beitrag unternimmt den Versuch, die Wissenslücken in Bezug auf die Wurzeln der Schriftstellerin Helga M. Novak zu füllen. Ihre autobiografischen Romane (Die Eisheiligen 1979, Vogel federlos 1982, Im Schwanenhals 2013) schrieb sie, der journalistischen Arbeitsweise gemäß, unter Berücksichtigung eigener Erinnerungen und Gespräche mit Verwandten der Adoptiveltern, von Recherchen auf den Standesämtern in Berlin und Dessau, doch das Gefühl, nirgendwo richtig verwurzelt und willkommen zu sein, schien sie immer zu begleiten. Dieser Beitrag präsentiert die Ergebnisse der nachgetragenen Spurensuche und will das in den Romanen Dargestellte mit Verifizierbarem (Dokumente aus dem Deutschen Literaturarchiv in Marbach, dem Staatsarchiv in Szczecin) vergleichen.
    The paper’s aim is to fill in knowledge gaps concerning the roots of the writer Helga M. Novak. She wrote her autobiographic novels (Die Eisheiligen 1979, Vogel federlos 1982, Im Schwanenhals 2013) according to a journalist’s working method, taking into consideration her own memories, conversations with the relatives of her adoptive parents, research in registry offices in Berlin and Dessau. Yet the feeling of having no proper roots and not really being welcome anywhere always seemed to be present in her life. The paper provides the outcome of an additional search for information and presents the verifiable information (documents of the German Literary Archives in Marbach, of the National Archives in Szczecin) against the background of the information depicted in the novels.

    Barbara Honigmann (ur. 1945 w Berlinie) jest niemiecką pisarką pochodzenia żydowskiego. W jej utworach zauważalne są często elementy autobiograficzne. Do takich powieści, w których pisarka łączy autobiograficzne refleksje z wyimaginowaną rzeczywistością, należą: Roman von einem Kinde (1986), Eine Liebe aus nichts (1991), Soharas Reise (1996), Alles, alles Liebe (2003), Ein Kapitel aus meinem Leben (2004) czy też Bilder von A (2001). Słowa wypowiedziane przez rodziców autorki: ,,Jesteśmy Żydami, należymy wprawdzie do niemieckiej kultury, ale nie jesteśmy Niemcami” stanowiły dla Honigmann bodziec do bliższego spojrzenia na własną tożsamość. Pisarka dostrzegała w Niemczech narastający brak porozumienia pomiędzy ludnością pochodzenia żydowskiego a Niemcami i z tego powodu opuściła w roku 1984 wraz z rodziną NRD emigrując do Strasburga, gdzie do dziś mieszka jako ,,Niemka pomiędzy Żydami”.
    Barbara Honigmann (born in 1945 in Berlin) is a German writer of Jewish origin. Her literary works often include autobiographical elements. Among the novels in which the writer combines the autobiographical reflections with an imagined reality, there are: “Roman von einem Kinde” (1986), “Eine Liebe aus nichts” (1991), “Soharas Reise” (1996), “Alles, alles Liebe” (2003), “Ein Kapitel aus meinem Leben” (2004), and “Bilder von A” (2001). The words spoken by the author’s parents: “We are Jews; we belong to German culture, but we are not Germans”, inspired Honigmann to take a closer look at her own identity. The writer noticed the growing disagreement in Germany between the inhabitants of Jewish origin and Germans, and because of that tendency she left East Germany in 1984 and, together with her family, emigrated to Strasbourg, where she still lives today as “a German among Jews”.

    With the annexation of the Crimea by Russia in spring 2014, a new strategic situation in Europe occurs. Both a deep going geopolitical and a value confl ict is now determine the relations between the West (EU, NATO including the Ukraine) and Russia. Germany was faced with the failure of its policy of strategic partnership with Russia since the year 2000. Unfortunately, a critical examination of the errors of this policy since the chancellorship of Gerhard Schröder does not take place until now. The German political elite is still on the way to a new strategic concept to deal with the new situation, fluctuating between value-based policy and Realpolitik. However, the public opinion in Germany about Russian policy is getting more critical. Finally, the contribution analyses the actual challenges for the future of German policy towards Russia and try to describe the possible scenarios.

    Ageing and death manifest themselves in contemporary culture as part of negative side of life. Despite all attempts to dissolve them they appear as inevitable and fateful. What can we do with ageing when it is part of our fate? Is it possible to integrate the knowledge and experience of ageing and death in our lives, even if they turn out to be alienating and remind us constantly of the finiteness of life? What position should we take in relation to the fact of our inevitable death if we want nevertheless say yes to life (Frankl)? The article finds the answer in the concept of ataraxia, a virtue which needs to be nurtured all through our lives.
    Altern und Tod zeigen sich in der zeitgenössischen Kultur als Teil der negativen Seite des Lebens. Trotz aller Versuche sie aufzulösen, erscheinen sie als unvermeidlich und schicksalhaft. Was können wir mit dem Altern tun, wenn es Teil unseres Schicksals ist? Ist es möglich, das Wissen und die Erfahrung des Alterns und des Todes in unser Leben zu integrieren, auch wenn sie sich als entfremdend erweisen und uns ständig an die Endlichkeit des Lebens erinnern? Welchen Standpunkt sollten wir in Bezug auf die Tatsache unseres unvermeidlichen Todes einnehmen, wenn wir trotzdem Ja zum Leben sagen wollen (Frankl)? Der Artikel findet die Antwort im Konzept der Ataraxie, eine Tugend, die ein ganzes Leben lang gepflegt werden soll.

Nachgelassene Fragmente, Notizen, Verse, Strophen, Wortreihen geben, oft surreal überhöht, Auskunft über Erfahrungen des Alters, von Krankheit, über das Schwinden von Liebeslust und vom nahenden Tod. Hier wird versucht, diese nachgelassenen Texte, vor allem Gedichte, als Vermächtnis dem veröffentlichten Werk der Autorin zuzuordnen.
    This paper is about the last works of Helga M. Novak. There are fragments, notes, verses, stanzas, word series (often surreal) about memories, experience of the age, illness, disappearance of desire for love and approaching death. The author of the article has made an attempt to assign the author’s unpublished works (especially poems) as a testament for the published work of the author.

    This article attempts to address the specificities of the Silesia on the example of selected poems by contemporary female and male authors who feel connected to this corner in the center of Europe and searching for their own identity. The research methodology revolves around biographical threads related to the turbulent history of Silesia, which has shaped the destiny of these writers. The national aspects of Silesia’s historical past are reflected in the subject matter of the lyrical works presented. At the same time, the regional perspective is broken by themes and threads relating to poetic reflections on human existence. It should be emphasized that the poems presented hardly belong to the highest category of fiction. These works show how a particular region with its volatile and often tragic history inspires artistically sensitive individual and enables them to experience the aesthetics captured in poetic images.

    Die Struktur der katholischen Kirche befindet sich nach dem großen Glaubwürdigkeitsverlust ihrer Autorität in einem zentralen Transformationsprozess. Der Synodale Weg in Deutschland ist ein Versuch, die Anerkennung der Anderen neu zuzulassen von einem objektivistischen zu einem kommunikativen Wahrheitsverständnis voranzuschreiten. Bei diesem Prozess wird es nicht zuerst um konkrete Reformvorschläge gehen, die mehrheitsfähig sind. Vielmehr stehen die Frage nach der Einheit des Glaubens und nach den hermeneutischen Prozessen der Glaubensformulierung im Brennpunkt.
    Po wielkiej utracie wiarygodności swojego autorytetu, struktura Kościoła katolickiego znajduje się w centralnym procesie przemian. Droga Synodalna w Niemczech jest próbą umożliwienia rozpoznania innym przejścia od obiektywistycznego do komunikatywnego rozumienia prawdy. W procesie tym nie chodzi w pierwszej kolejności o konkretne propozycje reform, które są do przyjęcia przez większość. W centrum zainteresowania pojawia się raczej pytanie o jedność wiary i hermeneutyczne procesy formułowania wiary.
    After the great loss of credibility in her authority, the structure of the Catholic Church is in the central process of transformation. The Synodal Path in Germany is an attempt to allow others to recognize the transition from an objectivist to a communicative understanding of the truth. The process is not primarily about concrete reform proposals that are acceptable to the majority. Rather, the questions concerning both the unity of faith and the hermeneutic processes of formulating faith are in the center of attention.

    W poszukiwaniu wspomnień: Koncepcje pamięci w Eine Art Liebe Kathariny HackerPowieść Kathariny Hacker Eine Art Liebe [Pewnego rodzaju miłość] jest analizowana w perspektywie postpamięci w ujęciu Marianne Hirsch. W interpretowanym utworze nie mamy wprawdzie do czynienia z tradycyjnymi stosunkami rodzinnymi, w których potomkowie muszą się uporać z traumami rodziców, lecz pewne techniki narracyjne odnoszą się do prób kolejnych pokoleń zmierzenia się z traumą Holocaustu. Główną bohaterką jest młoda Niemka, która w Izraelu poznaje Moshe Feina i próbuje spisać jego historię. Wsłuchując się w historię swojego żydowskiego przyjaciela, któremu udało się przeżyć Holocaust we francuskiej szkole z internatem, próbuje uwiarygodnić swoją narrację poprzez cytowanie zapisków Moshe Feina oraz opis jego pamiątek rodzinnych i fotografii. Die Suche nach Erinnerungen: Gedächtniskonzepte in Eine Art Liebe von Katharina HackerDer Roman Katharina Hackers Eine Art Liebe wird vor dem Hintergrund der Postmemory von Marianne Hirsch analysiert. Im interpretierten Werk hat man zwar mit den traditionellen Familienverhältnissen, in denen die Nachkommen mit den Traumata der Eltern zurechtkommen müssen, nichts zu tun, aber manche narrativen Techniken beziehen sich auf die Versuche der kommenden Generationen, die Schrecken vom Holocaust neu beschreiben zu lassen. Die Protagonistin, eine junge Deutsche, lernt in Israel Moshe Fein kennen, und versucht seine Geschichte niederzuschreiben. Indem sie die Geschichte von dem Holocaust-Überlebenden rekonstruiert, beglaubigt sie ihre Narration durch Zitate von Moshe Fein und die Beschreibung seiner Erbstücke und Fotografien aus dem Familiennachlass.
    This article analyses Katharina Hacker’s novel Eine Art Liebe [A Kind of Love] from the perspective of postmemory, as postulated by Marianne Hirsch. Although the interpreted work does not deal with traditional family relationships, in which the descendants have to deal with the traumas of their parents, certain narrative techniques refer to the attempts of future generations to face up to the trauma of the Holocaust. The protagonist of the novel is a young German woman who meets Moshe Fein in Israel and attempts to write down his story. Upon listening to the story of her Jewish friend, who survived the Holocaust in a French boarding school, she tries to lend credence to her narrative by quoting Moshe Fein’s notes and describing his family memorabilia and photographs.

    Ekumeniczne dążenie do tego, „aby wszyscy stanowili jedno” wydaje się być nadzwyczaj trudne w dobie postmodernistycznego pluralizmu. Czy jednak różnorodność musi ze swej natury negować ideał jedności tak fundamentalny dla zachowania tożsamości Kościoła? Co powinno charakteryzować ruch ekumeniczny XXI wieku? Jak oceniać konflikty towarzyszące wspólnemu dążeniu do prawdy? Niniejszy artykuł stanowi próbę odpowiedzi na te pytania „na sposób ekumeniczny”, poprzez zestawienie ze sobą wizji ekumenizmu prezentowanych przez dwóch współczesnych teologów niemieckojęzycznych – ewangelickiego teologa Michaela Welkera oraz o. Raymunda Schwagera SJ. Artykuł argumentuje, że Kościół w swojej istocie odpowiada pluralizmowi współczesnego świata, podkreślając jednocześnie nieuniknioność konfliktów i odrzucając negatywną ocenę ich natury.
    The ecumenical aspiration ‘that all may be one’ seems to be extraordinarily difficult in an age of postmodern pluralism. But, does diversity have to negate by its very nature the ideal of the unity, which is so fundamental for preserving the identity of the Church? What should characterise the ecumenical movement of the 21st century? How should we assess the conflicts accompanying the common pursuit of the truth? This article attempts to answer these questions “in an ecumenical way” by juxtaposing the visions of ecumenism presented by two contemporary German-speaking theologians: a Lutheran theologian Michael Welker and Fr Raymund Schwager SJ. The article argues that the Church in her essence corresponds to the pluralism of the modern world while emphasising the inevitability of conflicts and rejecting a negative assessment of their nature.

    Each region is sometimes identified by tourists not only through its tourist attractions but also increasingly by culinaries, which is a part of the wider culinary tourism. The space in which culinaries are manifested are culinary places – restaurants, where you are served often regional dishes. The subject of our discussion are the names of the restaurants in Wroclaw and the aim is to examine whether, as such, they can contribute to regional identity. The corpus includes approximately one thousand names of Wroclaw’s modern restaurants, which were ordered according to their composition and underlying motivation.
    Kulinarny Wrocław – W poszukiwaniu tożsamości regionalnej na przykładzie nazw restauracji we Wrocławiu Turyści łączą z danym regionem nie tylko atrakcje turystyczne, ale także potrawy, które są charakterystyczne dla kuchni danego regionu. Trend łączenia podróżowania z poznawaniem kuchni narodowej czy lokalnej wpisuje się w aktualnie dynamicznie rozwijającą się turystykę kulinarną. Szczególną rolę w podróżowaniu tego typu, poświęconemu przede wszystkim poznawaniu nowych smaków, odgrywają miejsca kulinarne – przede wszystkim restauracje, w których podawane są potrawy regionalne. Przedmiotem niniejszego opracowania są nazwy restauracji we Wrocławiu. Analiza ma na celu udzielenie odpowiedzi na pytanie, czy nazwy wrocławskich restauracji zawierają komponenty, które stanowiłyby nawiązania do kulinarnej tożsamości regionalnej. Korpus składa się z około tysiąca nazw restauracji wrocławskich. Zgromadzone nazwy zostały podzielone strukturalnie oraz według kryterium motywacji.

    Eponyme werden tagtäglich in der ganzen Welt verwendet, meist aber unbewusst. Sie werden nicht nur von Sprachbenutzern, sondern auch von Sprachwissenschaftlern unterschätzt, da sie in wissenschaftlichen Texten wenig Beachtung finden. Davon zeugt auch die Tatsache, dass „SŁOWNIK EPONIMÓW, czyli wyrazów odimiennych“ von Władysław Kopaliński (1996) immer noch eine einzige so große Fundgrube des Wissens über polnische Eponyme ist, das trotz seines nicht mehr ganz jungen Erscheinungsdatums seiner Konkurrenz nicht gewachsen ist. Dieser Beitrag soll die Aufmerksamkeit auf diese Wörter lenken, hinter denen sich nicht nur Menschen, sondern auch bemerkenswerte Geschichten verbergen. Eponym ist ein Wort, das von einem Eigennamen abgeleitet ist, nicht notwendigerweise von einem Vor- oder Nachnamen (wie im Falle eines Anthroponyms), der ein Gattungsname ist. Eponyme können von Eigennamen wie Ortsnamen, Regionen, Länder, Gewässer, Berge, Flüsse, realen und fiktiven Personen, Unternehmen, Waren, Tieren, Pflanzen usw. abgeleitet werden. Sie kommen in allen Sprachstilen und in verschiedenen Bereichen vor. Die größte Anzahl von Eponymen findet sich in der medizinischen Sprache, wo ihr Vorkommen ein charakteristisches Merkmal dieser Fachsprache ist. Sie sind aber auch in anderen Fachsprachen zu finden und kommen zudem oft in ähnlicher Form in verschiedenen Sprachen vor. Nicht alle Eponyme sind jedoch Internationalismen, einige sind sprachspezifisch. Die Röntgenstrahlen werden zwar täglich auf der ganzen Welt eingesetzt, aber nicht in jeder Sprache wird im Namen an ihren Erfinder erinnert. Ein passendes Beispiel ist der englische Name X-ray. Der Schwerpunkt des Beitrags liegt auf polnischen kulinarischen Eponymen und insbesondere auf deren Motivation. Mit Eponymen sind nämlich neben der etymologischen Begründung Geschichten verbunden.
    Eponyms are used every day all over the world, but mostly unconsciously. They are underestimated not only by language users, but also by linguists, as they receive little attention in scientific texts. This is also evidenced by the fact that “SŁOWNIK EPONIMÓW, czyli wyrazów odimiennych” by Władysław Kopaliński (1996) is still one such great resource trove of knowledge about Polish eponyms, which, despite its not very recent publication date, has still not seen competition. This article is intended to draw attention to these words, behind which are hidden not only people, but also remarkable stories. An eponym is a word derived from a proper name, not necessarily from a first or last name (as in the case of an anthroponym), which is a common noun. Eponyms can be derived from proper names such as place names, regions, countries, bodies of water, mountains, rivers, real and fictitious persons, companies, goods, animals, plants, etc. They occur in all linguistic styles and in various fields. The largest number of eponyms is found in medical language, where their occurrence is a characteristic feature of this specialized language. However, they are also found in other specialized languages and, moreover, often occur in similar form in different languages. Not all eponyms are internationalisms, some are language-specific. Röntgenstrahlen in German are used every day all over the world, but not every language commemorates their inventor in its name. An appropriate example is the English name X-ray. The focus of the paper is on Polish culinary eponyms, especially on their motivation. After all, eponyms are associated with stories in addition to their etymological justification.

    Hintergrund der Studie ist die von Papst Franziskus einberufene Bischofssynode über die Synodalität der Kirche. Der Papst hat den Wunsch geäußert, dass die Kirche im Allgemeinen synodal und inklusiv sollen wird, das heißt, dass sie auf die Stimme des ganzen Gottesvolkes hört und die Gläubigen in ihre Mission einbezieht. Das Hauptproblem dieser Studie kann also in der Frage ausgedrückt werden: Wie kann der für zwei Jahre geplante synodale Prozess so geleitet werden, dass er für die Erneuerung der Weltkirche optimal ist? Die Beantwortung dieser Frage erforderte zum einen eine Analyse der Lehre von Papst Franziskus und zum anderen eine Analyse des aktuellen Zustands der Kirche im Kontext der heutigen Herausforderungen. Aus der Kombination dieser beiden Prämissen konnten mehrere pastorale Schlussfolgerungen gezogen werden, von denen die wichtigsten sind: die Einbeziehung von Laien in die Entscheidungsprozesse in der Kirche, die Wertschätzung von Frauen in der Kirche und die Übernahme einiger demokratischer Verfahren, die sich in der westlichen Welt seit mehreren Jahrhunderten bewährt haben, in das Leben der Kirche.
    Tłem badań jest zwołany przez papieża Franciszka Synod Biskupów na temat synodalności Kościoła. Papież wyraził życzenie, by Kościół w ogóle stał się synodalny oraz inkluzywny, to „”znaczy wsłuchujący się w głos całego ludu Bożego oraz angażujący wiernych do uczestnictwa w swojej misji. Stąd główny problem tego opracowania można wyrazić w pytaniu: jak poprowadzić proces synodalny zaplanowany na dwa lata, aby był on optymalny dla odnowy Kościoła powszechnego? Odpowiedź na to pytanie wymagała analizy nauczania papieża Franciszka z jednej strony oraz analizy aktualnego stanu Kościoła w kontekście teraźniejszych wyzwań. Połączenie tych dwóch przesłanek pozwoliło wysnuć kilka wniosków pastoralnych, z których najważniejsze to: włączenie ludzi świeckich w procesy decyzyjne w Kościele, dowartościowanie kobiet w Kościele oraz włączenie w życie Kościoła niektórych procedur demokratycznych dobrze funkcjonujących w świecie zachodnim od kilku stuleci.
    The background to the study is the Synod of Bishops convened by Pope Francis on the synodality of the Church. The Pope has expressed the desire that the Church in general should become synodal and inclusive, that is, that it should listen to the voice of the whole people of God and involve the faithful in its mission. The main problem of this study, then, can be expressed in the question: How can the synodal process, planned for the next two years, be guided in such a way that it is optimal for the renewal of the universal Church? Answering this question required, on the one hand, an analysis of Pope Francis' teaching and, on the other, an analysis of the current state of the Church in the context of today's challenges. From the combination of these two premises, it was possible to draw several pastoral conclusions, the most important of which are: the involvement of lay people in the decision-making processes in the Church, the appreciation of women in the Church, and the adoption in the life of the Church of some democratic procedures that have proven themselves in the Western world for several centuries.
