Opis:: RESEARCH OBJECTIVE: The aim of the paper is to show that the concept of diversity has much more implications for schools and education than commonly assumed. THE RESEARCH PROBLEM AND METHODOLOGY: Based on an evaluation research study (formative and summative) involving 20 schools at the elementary and secondary level, which have undergone a federal process of professional development findings are presented, which indicate that we need to be more strategic in terms of our research practices and dissemination when it comes to diversity. THE PROCESS OF ARGUMENTATION The paper introduces the concept of a critical theory of professional development in education, which includes the conceptual history approach and post structural points of view. The findings of an evaluation research study are then analysed. The exploration of the connections between diversity discourses and the challenges of the daily organisational and pedagogical routines completes the analysis. RESEARCH RESULTS: For the results show that diversity management is becoming more and more of an issue. Further crucial points seem to be media relations and the competition between schools. CONCLUSIONS, INNOVATION AND RECOMMENDATIONS: Strengthening the competence of everybody involved and enabling transfer of knowledge is the key. Instead research tends to confront players with what they don’t know and can’t handle, often classifying their working approaches in an offensive way rather then supporting them by acknowledging their expertise in first place. Opis:: Abstract: As a result of the emergence of new forms of work in the professional environment, which have become established as a result of internationalisation, globalisation and specialisation, writing is becomming an important tool for the acquisition, restructuring and exchange of content-related information or new concepts among employees. However, this created challenges concerning the transparency and economy of expression in writing. The following paper presents a study that examined students' writing skills for professional purposes. The subject of the analysis were the results of a writing tasks given to students at Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań, Poland, related to an authentic workplace situation. In order to assess the level of preparation for the requirements of the current labour market based on the knowledge acquired during attendance of university courses, students were asked to solve a written task. After analysing the results obtained using quantitative and qualitative methods, conclusions were drawn regarding possible modifications of the curricula and the extension of the teaching programme to promote the training of writing skills for professional purposes.

Opis:: This paper addresses the question of the specificity of professional (specialist) communication among graduates of the German Studies working in business services in Poland. The research results presented are based on the global results of the project “The Language Barometer of Lódz 2021. Employees in the Modern Business Services Sector.” The target group are employees of companies in the Polish business services sector and, at the same time, graduates of the Master’s degree programme in German at the University of Lódz. The research questions of the survey are primarily directed at the required foreign language skills of the target group, areas of application of foreign languages, the knowledge and specialist areas to be mastered, language training in the company and multilingualism in professional communication.
