    À bâtons rompus contre l’intégrisme machiste qui étouffe les revendications féminines, les auteures maghrébines contemporaines luttent pour récupérer leur identité ensevelie, dévoilent leur intimité pour vaincre le silence, ce mutisme qui tue, jour après jour, l’espoir et la dignité. Née après la fin de la longue colonisation occidentale, la littérature féminine francophone aborde une pluralité de thématiques : la problématique de l’exil, la violence domestique, le machisme souterrain, qui alimente les préjugés d’une société nord-africaine postcoloniale et postmoderne de plus en plus désorientée et le réveil du corps féminin.

    Opis:
    The article proposes to reconsider the place taken by Nelly Arcan’s work in the women’s and feminist thinking in Quebec in the last years. The author discusses the concepts like the passivity of writer’s main characters, her conception of femininity and the fatalism which characterize her female characters. The aim of the article is to shed light in Nelly Arcan’s vision and renewal of the contemporary Quebecer literature. Her intimate, provocative, furious and dark novels bring out the deadlock on the women’s thinking nowadays and challenge the achievements of the claims of the feminist movements.

    In the line of recent studies (Reid, 2010; Planté, 2003), this contribution deals with the place of the feminine authors in the French literary canon and with the status of author. This political question also raises questions about the corpus’ construction of the classics of the literature which are taught and serve as references in literary studies. If women represent approximately 50 % of the world’s population, they are far from proportionally representing in literature. Thus, the scarcity of women in Literary History will be at the center of our preoccupation, and we will endeavor to show how societies have influenced the representation of women in literature, and how feminine authors have denunced the image of inequalities between men and women in their works.
