    Opis:
    Le mot désignant la première boisson de notre vie paraît peu original comme objet d’intérêt. Mais puisqu’il est des plus courants et connu de tous, nous présentons son fonctionnement dans le sens premier et dans d’autres acceptions dans le registre standard, dans la langue technique, dans le sens figuré ; nous observons les formations dérivées et composées et les expressions phraséologiques françaises et polonaises avec lait / mleko. Nous évoquons le lien entre le lait et le vin, présent uniquement en français et visible à travers quelques expressions. Nous essayons d’en tirer une image sémantique du mot et son emploi dans les expressions à partir des dictionnaires anciens et modernes français et polonais. Ce substantif concret, pouvant être compté parmi les universaux de la langue, ne présente pas de champ synonymique développé mais seulement quelques emplois métonymiques et métaphoriques qui nous paraissent néanmoins mériter une réflexion relative aux deux langues.
    The name of what is usually the first drink in our lives does not seem to be a very original object of interest. However, it belongs to a group of well-known and widely used words, and, therefore, I would like to look at its functioning. I intend to look into its basic general meaning and linguistics behind it, but I also want to explore the meaning of figurative (metaphorical) compositions and phrase expressions connected with the word ‘milk’ in French and in Polish respectively. I will try to outline the meaning of the word ‘milk’ / ‘mleko’ based on both old and contemporary French and Polish dictionaries. I will refer to the link between wine and milk, which is present in French only and visible through some of the expressions. This concrete noun, which can be classified among language universals, does not offer any sophisticated synonymy. However, several metonymic and metaphorical applications deserve attention.

    Artykuł przedstawia czasownik paść/padać oraz jego derywaty, które są polskimi odpowiednikami francuskiego czasownika tomber w użyciach nielokatywnych. Rozważania zmierzają do sprawdzenia czy w znaczeniu tych derywatów odnaleźć można elementy znaczeniowe orientacji pionowej i kierunku w dół, które są obecne w użyciach lokatywnych zarówno czasownika tomber, jak i jego polskich odpowiedników. Ruch abstrakcyjny (pojęcie używane przez Langackera) według osi pionowej może być konceptualizowany na przykład jako zmniejszanie się miary czy intensywności, pogarszanie się stanu, rozpad, rozkład czy podporządkowanie. 11 spośród 15 przedstawionych czasowników zawiera takie elementy znaczenia.
    The article presents the verb paść/padać and its derivatives that are Polish equivalents of the French verb tomber in non-locative uses. A purpose of the considerations is to verify whether in the meanings of these derivatives we can find semantic elements of a vertical orientation and a downward direction which are present in the locative uses of both the verb tomber and its Polish equivalents. An abstract movement (the notion used by Langacker) alongside a vertical axis may be conceptualized, for instance, as a decrease in the measure or intensity, degradation of a state, disintegration, decomposition or subordination. 11 out of 15 verbs presented therein contain such semantic elements.

    Herein we would like to rise up a concern of the error correction of pronunciation in French as a Foreign Language. The results of the experimental acoustic analysis (concerning the values of acoustic vowel formants F1 and F2) enabled to precisely specify the difficulties of the experiment’s participants in a field of French vocal system. In relation to the differences of vocal systems of French and Polish language we suggest custom solutions on a didactic level. Based on verbo-tonal method for phonetic integration the error correction activities had been individually elaborated for each participant.

    Opis:
    In the process of the acquisition of the sound system of French as a foreign language, Polish students face numerous difficulties at the level of recognition, differentiation and correct production of French vowels. This is true for oral and nasal vowels. This article concentrates on nasal vowels, and its aim is to present a comparative description of nasal vowels in Polish and French, including recent changes in their production. Moreover, the paper presents the study reporting difficulty with correct perception and articulation of French nasal vowels faced by advanced Polish learners of French. While the paper does not describe corrective procedures, it indicates the necessity of undertaking further studies aiming at optimizing the process of the acquisition of the sound system in a foreign language.
